New POV ( Third Anchor)
My reflection in a shard of broken metal catches my eye.
For a split second,
My pupils aren't round.
They're elongated.
Not human.
I blink.
They're normal again.
My breathing turns shallow.
I don't know what's happening to me.
I don't know why the mountain in my dreams feels closer tonight.
I don't know why the three-note echo just changed.
Because it did.
It's not just three anymore.
There's harmony now.
Two other presences brushing against the edge of my awareness.
One sharp.
One steady.
Both distant.
Both were real.
My head jerks up.
On the far warehouse wall, the distortion flickers like heat haze.
And for half a second,
A symbol burns there.
Not in fire.
In outline.
A wolf.
Not snarling.
Not attacking.
Watching.
I stumble back.
"I don't know you," I breathe.
But the symbol feels familiar.
Like a word I almost remember how to say.
The sirens are louder now.
People are pulling Thomas toward the door.
He's breathing.
