Dressed in black, with eyes that seemed dead, Jang Han Seok walked through the halls. His harsh footsteps echoed through the walls, and servants bowed at him as he passed. His dark aura filled the air, making him look more scary. That even demons were afraid of a turned demon like him. He reached a pair of double doors and the guards opened it for him. He walked through, coming to stand in the middle of the large room.
And he bowed his head low, and said "You called for me, my Lord"
Hearing that, Kang Jimyeong turned and faced him. His hands crossed behind his back, and a dark look in his eyes.
"Jang Han Seok.... How have you been?" he asked.
"I have been well, my Lord" he answered.
"Really? I was hoping what I'm hearing isn't true" he said, and Han Seok lifted his eyes. "He found out about her?"
"Yes. He did" just as he answered, a vase was thrown at him, and with a swift movement, he dodged. The sound of it shattering into pieces reached the room.
"I gave you one job. Why are you so slow in it?! What's so hard in it?! You couldn't stop him from loving her, neither could you kill her!" he roared out. But the man kept his cool. Devoid of any expression.
"The job you've given is not an easy one, my Lord. You should know better." he spoke "The half breed is someone strong and powerful. Killing him is almost impossible. Maybe because we rarely see him. He's the real definition of 'Now you see me, now you don't'. Every opportunity we have doesn't last for long. He disappears like he doesn't exist. While his bride, she's stronger than you think. She may be a mere human....but taking her life means trading one for it"
"Then trade one!"
He smirked "Who's life? Mine? Remember, you turned me into a demon, I can't possibly die yet. We've tried manipulating her mind to go against him, to hate and think he only wants something from her. But her love for him is stronger, leaving us weak and powerless after each nightmare. You have to be patient"
"Patient?" he snickered. "You want me to be patient? He would be free. What do you think would happen to our race? We would all die"
"An advice, my Lord. I prefer we leave them be. The half breed doesn't have plans on returning. But if anything happens to her, then your world is doomed" he said as a matter of fact.
"I. Want. Them. Dead" he growled. And Jang could only obey.
"As you wish" He bowed and then took steps to the door.
Nayla who was eavesdropping quickly ran back to her room. She closed the door, slowly dropping to the floor. Her heart felt heavy, and it bled. Tears welled her eyes and she bit her lips hard to stop herself from crying out loud. It pained her that he loved another woman. It pained her that she might no longer have a chance. How could he? How could he love someone else? It's the human who's meant to love him and not the other way round. Why did he have to love her? He loved her first. Yes, she made a mistake. But can't she have another chance? She wants him back.
More pain tugged her heart as she laid on the floor. Her tears rolled out of her eyes as she cried silently. Remembering the days they spent together before his exile, she became more obsessed. She couldn't let him be with someone else. Ryan is hers. He loved her first, so there's no way she'll let another woman have him. She rather die. And she's not ready to die yet. She was going to get him back at all costs.

Leon sat on his throne. His eyes as red as flames of fire as he looked down at the corpse. He burned with anger. His claws scratching the arm of his throne.
"Who dared to do this?" he growled. Dark and hoarse.
"We have no idea, your majesty. There is no lead as the culprit is already dead."
"The poison...where is it from?" he asked.
"We...we don't know. It's new and very deadly"
"Find the person behind this. I want his head" he ordered and they bowed their heads before leaving the throne room. Leon looked at Zayden who sat there blankly, but dark. He saw his jaws clench and his fingers scratching the other nail.
"Zayden...." he called and the man looked up. His eyes expressionless and dark. "I'm sorry" he spoke causing the latter to blink. Why was he apologizing? "We'll get to the root of this and punish whoever did this. I give you my word"
"You don't have to worry. I'm fine" he flashed a smile.
"What are you saying? I almost lost you and your sister. How do you think your father would be?"
"Worse than your current state" he answered "That's why I'm asking you not to worry. We're doing fine"
"Be careful" he told him. And he only smiled. He stood up and bowed before leaving the throne room.
