Chapter 218 -  Creating the World — The Evolution of All Life

With K's fall, the space returned to silence once more.

Only the faint glow from the flowing golden blood illuminated the surroundings, allowing people to see the colossal corpse of the black dragon drifting in the void.

Shikanoin Heizou:

"It's hard to imagine that a creature this powerful would one day fall." 😔

Tartaglia:

"As long as someone isn't strong enough to surpass everything, there will always be something capable of threatening their life."

"Looking at K's injuries, they clearly weren't self-inflicted."

"It looks more like he was attacked by something."

Albedo:

"He probably fought a powerful being."

"The real question is what the result of that battle was."

Collei:

"There's something I don't understand."

"If this dragon is Gu Chen's past self… then he's already dead."

"So where does Teyvat come from?"

"And can he still meet Focalors?" 😟

Tighnari:

"No need to worry."

"The keyword 'When the Whale Falls, All Things Flourish' suggests that Gu Chen's death will give birth to all life."

"The question is only how Teyvat will appear."

Azhdaha:

"Wait a second."

"The video just froze here?"

"Are we just watching the Sect Leader's corpse rot?"

"That makes no sense."

"With power like his, his body shouldn't decay."

Albedo:

"Hard to say."

Zhongli:

"Look closely."

"The time flow in the video seems to be accelerating."

At some point, the golden blood flowing from the dragon's body began moving faster and faster.

Even through the screen, viewers could sense that time itself was speeding up in that space.

There were no reference points in the void.

No one knew how long had passed.

But the golden blood flowing from the dragon's body never dried up.

Gradually, the camera moved closer.

Finally—

At the pale scales of the dragon's belly—

The corpse began to break apart for the first time.

Perhaps because of the dragon's death.

Or perhaps due to some unknown force.

A single scale detached from the body.

It drifted slowly in the void, like a small boat floating in a vast sea.

After an unknown amount of time, the scale began to soften.

Like frozen dough placed in warmth, it slowly lost its rigidity.

Eventually—

The flat scale turned into an irregular sphere.

The golden blood clinging to it boiled briefly, then quieted, merging with the sphere.

Soon, the sphere trembled.

The camera shifted.

Now the entire void was filled with countless scales shed from the dragon's body.

They were different colors.

And scattered throughout the void.

Klee:

"Brother Gu Chen's scales look like they turned into stars!" ✨

Albedo:

"That's an interesting interpretation."

"If we assume Gu Chen's scales are comparable to planets…"

"Then what we're witnessing is clearly the creation of a universe."

Kaeya:

"Wait—what?!"

"You're saying his fallen scales became planets?!"

Azhdaha:

"Great."

"In previous episodes I could at least see the Sect Leader's back."

"But this time he's completely left everyone behind."

Sustainer:

"I don't understand anything."

"But I'm extremely shocked." 😵

Zhongli:

"Even you cannot comprehend it?"

Sustainer:

"Imagine this."

"A single hair falling from your body turns into a star."

"Now imagine how grand K must have been in his prime." 😳

Osial:

"Thinking about this too deeply is dangerous."

"The more you think, the more ridiculous Gu Chen becomes."

"And then you realize the thing that nearly killed him must be even more terrifying."

Tartaglia:

"I'm really curious now."

"What kind of being could injure the Sect Leader like that?"

Skirk:

"If those injuries were caused by an enemy…"

"I suspect that enemy was killed by the black dragon."

"Otherwise they would've come to collect the corpse."

"Because Gu Chen's body looks like it's made entirely of treasures."

Venti:

"That actually makes sense!"

Every second, dramatic changes occurred within the void.

The scattered scales fused with blood and began forming celestial bodies.

Without the protection of scales, the dragon's flesh began to fall away, dispersing into the void.

Eventually—

Even the enormous skeleton shattered, scattering in all directions.

Some fragments drifted endlessly.

Some collided with spheres and merged into them.

But others were stained with a strange crimson aura.

Those pieces were rejected by the spheres.

No celestial body would accept them.

Nilou:

"What are those red bones?"

"It feels like everything else is avoiding them." 🤔

Chongyun:

"Maybe they're remnants of the enemy's power."

"Like a curse."

"They give me a terrible feeling."

Nahida (Buer):

"They seem ominous."

"They share certain traits with Forbidden Knowledge."

By now, the dragon's body had completely disintegrated.

The void contained no trace of a dragon anymore.

Only countless drifting fragments.

Time seemed meaningless here.

Based on rough estimation—

Every blink of the eye in the video might represent tens of thousands of years.

Eventually—

A brilliant light appeared in the darkness.

The light spread outward, illuminating the entire void.

The camera turned.

One of the irregular spheres had exploded.

The explosion shook the surrounding space itself.

Nearby spheres trembled under the shockwave.

The light was blinding.

Albedo:

"Wait."

"Why did it explode?"

"Since all components came from the same source, that shouldn't happen."

Arataki Itto:

"I don't get it."

"But that explosion seems to be continuing."

"Wait—no."

"The light is continuing."

"Why does it look like a giant fireball?"

Klee:

"A fireball?"

"That's the sun!" ☀️

Lyney:

"If we look at it from another sphere…"

"That would indeed be a sun!"

Albedo:

"Not necessarily."

"Let's keep observing."

The fireball continued burning, providing light.

Meanwhile, countless spheres in the void underwent evolution.

Some broke apart and turned into debris.

Some remained cold and lifeless.

After a long time—

Several spheres collided.

But instead of exploding, they merged.

They began attracting nearby fragments.

More and more debris gathered.

The object grew rapidly.

Eventually it became three to five times larger than the original scale before stabilizing.

The camera focused on it.

Golden blood pooled in its craters, forming small oceans.

After a long time—

A layer of deep blue atmosphere formed around it.

The camera descended through the atmosphere.

Below lay endless rock and soil.

Rain was falling.

And from the soil—

A tiny green sprout emerged.

Kaeya:

"Holy crap!"

"Don't tell me this is future Teyvat!"

Yoimiya:

"My mind is blown!" 🤯

Tighnari:

"I rarely swear but—"

"That's life evolution!"

"But where did that plant come from?!"

Azhdaha:

"That's called divine power, kid."

"You can't explain it with science." 😏

Kaveh:

"Watching a world be born from nothing…"

"That's incredible."

"Who would've imagined the origin of our world was a fallen black dragon?"

Dvalin:

"Now I understand the phrase."

"When the whale falls, all things flourish."

"When the Sect Leader died—everything was born."

Gu Chen:

"That's called selfless dedication, alright?" 😎

Heizou:

"In the future timeline of this video…"

"I definitely need to kowtow to the Sect Leader."

"Without him, nothing would exist."

Albedo:

"Humanity might not have been directly created by him."

"But his death provided the world where humanity could exist."

"That distinction is important."

Paimon:

"I'd like to publicly criticize the electro-polluted seawater in Inazuma!"

Raiden Ei:

(food drops from mouth) 😳

Raiden Shogun:

"Don't act innocent."

"They're talking about you."

Ei:

"But Orobas forced me to cut him…" 😭

After the first green sprout appeared, vegetation began spreading across the land.

Life also began forming within the oceans.

After a long time—

Dark clouds filled the sky.

Thunder roared.

Rain poured endlessly.

Floodwaters covered the land.

Streams of spiritual light gathered into the sea.

Within the ocean—

A shadow appeared.

Black scales covered its body.

It had no limbs.

No claws.

Its body resembled a serpent.

Its head, however, looked similar to the ancient black dragon.

Just without the long whiskers.

When this small dragon—barely long enough to wrap around a large tree—appeared…

It marked the birth of the first true living creature in this world.

The young dragon swam freely through the sea.

It could control the flow of water as easily as moving its own body.

Even the tides and rainfall responded to its will.

Heizou:

"The first life form has appeared."

"Based on Teyvat's history…"

"This should be an ancient dragon."

"And it seems the first one is the Hydro Dragon King."

Neuvillette:

"Not necessarily."

"Look more closely."

The young dragon shot into the sky.

It swam through lightning storms.

Electric arcs struck its body—but were absorbed.

Then it rose above the clouds.

Wind energy swirled around it.

Finally, it dove back down—

Through storm clouds.

Through oceans.

And into the earth itself.

Deep underground—

It encountered a faint golden light.

The young dragon's eyes showed reverence.

Before it could act—

The golden light transformed into liquid and merged into its body.

The dragon became excited.

It cried out.

The surrounding earth began moving according to its will.

Albedo:

"It's clear now."

"This isn't just the Hydro Dragon."

"It controls water, lightning, wind, and earth."

"The remaining elements likely wouldn't be difficult either."

"That final golden light…"

"It was probably the black dragon's remaining blood."

"Could this be Gu Chen's reincarnation?"

Apep:

"That appearance…"

"Nibelung."

Lyney:

"Wait a moment."

"If that dragon found leftover blood underground…"

"Then deeper inside the planet…"

"Wouldn't there be an even larger pool of unevolved dragon blood?"

Albedo:

"Based on current evidence…"

"That's very likely."

Heizou:

"I think I just figured something out."

"That must be why Egeria used Primordial Sea water to create humans."

"Gu Chen's blood evolved into all life."

"With the right guidance…"

"It could easily produce human beings."

"And when those humans dissolve back into the Primordial Sea…"

"They're just returning to their original dragon-blood essence."

"That makes perfect sense!"

Albedo:

"Indeed."

"The Primordial Sea shares characteristics with dragon blood."

"Though its level is far lower."

"Still, it's fascinating."

"I'd love to obtain a sample for research." 🤔

Azhdaha:

"I just thought of something."

"If Neuvillette is a reincarnator from this timeline…"

"What should he call the Sect Leader?"

Dvalin:

"Good question!"

Osial:

"That's a fresh perspective!"

Klee:

"Klee knows the answer!"

"Apep Auntie is a first-generation dragon."

"So she's like Gu Chen's daughter."

"And Neuvillette is a second-generation dragon king."

"So he's Gu Chen's grandson!"

Apep:

"Who's his daughter?!" 😡

Venti:

"My seniority just increased. Feels great!"

Neuvillette:

"Don't celebrate yet."

"You still need to figure out what you should call Gu Chen."

Raiden Makoto:

"Wait—this suddenly isn't funny anymore!" 😨

Yae Miko:

"Oh my."

"The ancestor dating his descendants…"

"How exciting."

Makoto:

"Little fox, stop talking!"

"I refuse to accept this!"

"At least I'm not reincarnated from that Teyvat!"

Guizhong:

"Thankfully neither am I~"

Lumine:

"I came from the sea of stars, so it's not my problem!" 😏

Focalors:

"…Wait."

"So after all that…"

"I'm the only one with a problem?" 😅

Neuvillette:

"I think everyone is overcomplicating things."

"Yes, we are connected through the 'whale fall'."

"But it doesn't necessarily mean the relationships are that literal…"
