"I… I really don't think there is anything you could have done that would make me hate you," Bei said simply.
She sounded so sure of herself.
"Have you ever... have you ever heard of a wolf having two mates?"
I lowered my gaze, unable to fully look at her. I wasn't sure what sort of expression she would have and I didn't necessarily want to see it.
"Two mates," she repeated slowly.
I nodded, still not looking up.
"I don't think I have ever heard of anything like that to be honest." Bei's voice was quiet now, measured. "Are you telling me that you..."
She didn't finish the sentence.
I finally lifted my gaze to meet hers.
She looked very surprised.
"Yes," I said softly.
"I… see." She shifted her gaze to the wall then back at me. "Silverwood's Supreme Alpha?"
"Yes… how did you—"
"I had a slight hunch…" She sat straight, leaning away from the pillows. "You confirmed it a bit mere minutes ago… with how you called him by name."
