Living with Evelina in a mansion was just as perfect as I'd imagined. No distractions, no annoying servants—just us, alone in a huge place that belonged entirely to us.
Even better, that strange thing from before hadn't made a move at all. Everything was smooth sailing despite the chaos in the rest of the territory. Honestly, it was almost too peaceful.
Normally, I would've worried, but compared to before, there really wasn't any reason to get paranoid.
The system could handle the mining company problem. As for the elves… well, that attack from Azrael and Corvus should be enough to make them think twice about trying anything else for the next few months, if I had to guess.
It was just the two of us and the work of rebuilding our half of this mess of a city.
"Five businesses have already been rebuilt."
Evelina said, leaning on my shoulder as we both looked out over the slightly busier outer district near our estate.
