With his once-shady-now-trusty Dark Sentry watching his back…and front, and all sides, really, Daru moved through the moonlit forest with confidence.
The fact that he had already extensively scouted the periphery of his territory added to his assurance.
Since he was alone, he moved faster, covering far more land in an hour than when he marched with his little army.
Two hours later, in the dead of the chilly night, he arrived in unfamiliar territory.
Daru felt it.
The energies here are thicker, matching those in the first level branch…which means the nights here are just as dangerous.
Sure enough, he soon heard heavy thuds.
The Runebarks and whatever predatory trees thrived here are on the move.
However, Daru was significantly stronger than he was back then. He was not afraid.
Nonetheless, he still moved carefully. He wasn't here to hunt.
