Chapter 22
Yuzurei fought with brutal precision, juggling his four katanas mid-combat with ruthless efficiency. Each swing and parry displayed his mastery, the clashing steel echoing across the high-tech battlefield.
Nearby, Musukoni had sustained only minor cuts. Calm and calculated, he moved through the fray with lethal grace, dispatching opponents swiftly, each strike precise and economical.
Meanwhile, Yusikuna finally managed to ignite a building. The fire spread rapidly, giving crucial openings for the others.
Jin Yuan, as always, fought with a hollow expression. His massive blade moved smoothly, each strike deadly, yet his face betrayed nothing—no fatigue, no fear, no emotion.
Thanks to Yusikuna's fire, some of the surrounding buildings caught alight, creating chaos and providing openings for the team to exploit. One by one, the enemy army fell.
Musukoni was slightly injured, but far from incapacitated. Yusikuna, exhausted from non-stop arrow volleys, leaned heavily on his bow, panting but alert. Yuzurei bore a few superficial cuts, his relentless bloodlust untouched by pain. Jin Yuan's only injury was a barely noticeable cut on his cheek.
Yusikuna wiped sweat from his brow.
"Close call… this place is full of mysteries."
Musukoni's eyes scanned the surroundings, calculating every possibility.
"Now I understand," he murmured quietly.
Yuzurei, impatient as ever, snapped.
"What!? You're suspicious? Dummy! Spill it out!"
Jin Yuan, calm and hollow as always, asked softly,
"What is it, Musukoni?"
Musukoni's gaze remained steady.
"This… might be a plan to exhaust us. They want us tired, distracted, our guard down. If we're not careful, they'll strike when we're weakest."
They advanced slowly, cautious. The high-tech corridor before them was eerie—walls lined with mirrors, mist curling across the floor.
Yuzurei scoffed.
"I don't want to see my reflection now—I want more fight!"
Jin Yuan observed the mirrors without a flicker of fear, silent as ever.
Yusikuna readied his bow.
"Be ready, everyone!" His voice, though tired, carried its usual energy.
Musukoni nodded slightly.
"See? I was right."
As they approached the mirrors, the glass panels suddenly shifted. A strange force pulled them forward, tearing them from the floor. Panic flickered across Yuzurei's face, but he quickly unsheathed all four katanas instinctively.
They fell—separated. Musukoni and Yusikuna tumbled together into the depths of the Blue Realm, surrounded by silence and glowing high-tech structures.
Yusikuna struggled to balance mid-air, but the space offered no footing.
"What is this…?" he muttered.
Yuzurei fell alone, his scream of exhilaration cutting through the void.
"What the hell! My dream is coming true!" He spun his katanas, the weapons cutting arcs through the air as he plummeted.
Jin Yuan's massive blade gleamed as he unsheathed it, falling silently through the abyss. His hollow expression remained, emotionless, even as the world twisted around him.
The Blue Realm swallowed them whole.
