The night had fallen over New York, painting the streets with golden halos of street lamps and neon signs. Cars hummed by in a steady rhythm, horns occasionally piercing the calm. Yet, in the midst of the city that never slept, two figures walked casually, almost daring the night itself to notice them.
Kendella walked with her chin high, her long lashes fluttering as she scanned the sidewalk like she was inspecting a crime scene. Beside her, Jae-Hyun strolled with a lazy, effortless grace, his hands shoved deep into his pockets.
Suddenly, he stopped.
His eyes locked onto a small, silver kiosk propped up on the corner. It was a humble roadside cart, steam rising from a small window where a vendor was handing out paper cups.
"Mmm," Jae-Hyun hummed, a small grin tugging at his lips. "I'm hungry."
