Shota appeared outside the small guard outpost after Fū became a jinchuriki. His body was tired, and sweat covered his forehead and neck.
He looked at Pakura who was standing guard with the genin nearby and said, "The jinchuriki has been sealed. There has been no complications."
His voice was steady even though he felt weak inside.
Pakura nodded in relief. She looked at Shota who was covered with sweat as if he was having a fever but thought it was because of him helping in the sealing process of a tailed beast.
Pakura asked a few quiet questions about how the baby was doing and whether the old man had suffered much. Shota answered simply that the process was complete and the baby was resting.
"I think we should wait a couple hours before leaving to see if the seal is perfect and so that the baby completed its rest." Shota said and Pakura nodded.
He then closed the door and slumped at the wall. Once he was alone inside the shed again, Shota leaned heavily against the wooden wall and let out a long breath. The effort of becoming a pseudo jinchuriki had taken more out of him than he expected.
"Who would have thought becoming a jinchuriki is so extracting." Shota muttered. The nine tails chakra had entered his body quickly and forced his own chakra network to adjust all at once.
He had taken the time more for himself than the baby. While he wanted to rest himself, he wanted to get a handle on his chakra which seemed to have gone haywire after he became the jinchuriki and the chakra seemed to have caused his control to imbalance.
If he tried to use jutsus right away, he risked wasting large amounts of power or even harming himself.
While he could control it with Erasure, it would mean that he would not be able to use chakra at all and that would be very bad if someone else notices.
Using his eyes to suppress the chakra completely would leave him without any jutsus, which was too risky in case of an ambush. So he took the time to get used to the tailed beast chakra.
He performed basic chakra control exercises.
The nine tails energy made everything harder. His chakra wanted to leak out in every direction. After many careful tries, he managed to form five solid shadow clones.
Seeing 5 shadow clones Shota could not help but smile. He had already surpassed his limit for the number of shadow clones already. He could create more clones but his brain would not be able to handle the influx of memories from so many clones.
He would have to train it to take so much influx before moving to more clones. The clones stood around him and practiced the same control exercises. When they dispelled, the memories returned without overwhelming him too badly.
As he managed to get a bare minimum of chakra control, he sighed in relief. "No wonder Naruto was so bad at chakra control." Shota now would be able to perform jutsus but he would be doing it with a lot of chakra loss due to his now poor chakra control but with his increased chakra that would not be much of a problem.
Although he was planning to rectify it as soon as they returned to Suna. The extra reserves from the nine tails chakra meant he could afford some waste for now. Still, he knew he needed proper training later so he would not remain inefficient forever.
He picked up baby Fū. And said, "Well then little Fū, I guess we jinchurikis have to stay together huh." He said smiling and playing with Fū cheeks who giggled not at all knowing that she had just become a host of a tailed beast.
He walked out with her in hand. When Shota stepped outside again carrying the baby, the others turned to look. Maki looked at the baby in his hand. "So cuteee."
She spoke with open excitement and moved closer to see Fū better.
"Can I take her?" Maki asked. She held out her arms hopefully, wanting to hold the cute baby for a while.
"No." Shota said. Maki looked crestfallen. But Shota wanted Fū to be with him because that would mean if a fight occurs, he would not have to fight and he was not in much of a condition to fight properly anyways.
Maki accepted the decision after a moment and stepped back, still watching the baby with fond eyes.
"Let's go Pakura san." Shota said. Pakura nodded before stopping. She looked to her right. "We have guests." Her voice stayed calm, but the group immediately became alert.
The genins immediately went on guard. They formed a loose circle around Shota and the baby, ready for whatever was coming.
A couple Taki jonin walked out. The two men from Takigakure approached slowly with serious faces. They stopped a short distance away and spoke first. "The jinchuriki sealing process has been done?" One of them asked in a clear voice.
"Yes." Shota answered simply. He kept Fū close and met their eyes without fear.
The other Taki shinobi continued. "We are here to collect the elder's body as well as to remind Suna of the promise." He looked toward the shed where the old man's body still rested.
Shota nodded and replied, "The body is inside. You may take it with full respect. The elder completed his duty with great courage."
The first Taki jonin added, "We trust that the agreement between our villages remains strong. Takigakure expects Suna to stand with us if foreign threats appear."
"Do not worry. Suna would protect Taki in future conflicts against other villages." Shota said firmly.
Pakura joined the conversation. "Our Kazekage has already approved the terms. We will honor every part of the deal."
After that Taki shinobi left and Suna too left in the other direction. The group began walking away from the waterfall village toward the long road home.
But instead of one jinchuriki like everyone thought was there, they were walking with two jinchurikis.
