Yvonne Cheney glared at her fiercely.
"Why are you always causing trouble?"
Lana Lowell lowered her head.
Tears welled up in her eyes but dared not fall.
Yvonne Cheney sighed.
She looked up at the ceiling, her tone softening.
"Don't worry, take things one step at a time. You're still young, and there will be plenty of opportunities in the future."
Lana Lowell half-understood but knew her mother was encouraging her not to give up.
So she nodded vigorously.
She said earnestly.
"Next time, I won't let Mom be implicated because of me."
Meanwhile.
Cora Lowell had just pushed open the room door and saw the phone screen flashing.
She walked over, picked up the phone, and saw several missed calls.
All within the last ten minutes, all from Julian West.
Her brows furrowed slightly, a trace of unease rising in her heart.
