Raditz was testing out his new power. He started off with a series of leaps, repeatedly throwing swift punches and sharp kicks into the air.

Every strike felt faster than before, his jumps reached nearly double their usual height, and his senses were noticeably sharper; even so, he still couldn't sense anyone's Ki.

He let out a sigh, which quickly dissolved into a triumphant, cheeky grin. Looking out at the horizon, a sense of calm washed over his heart. He drew a deep breath, let out a wide yawn, and stretched his arms to shake off the lingering drowsiness.

Planting his feet firmly on the ground, he powered up. His Ki flared explosively, wrapping his body in a thin, shimmering white aura. He launched off the ground at blistering speed—the surrounding landscape turned into a blur as he shot across the sky like a streak of light.

After flying for a few minutes, he decelerated and slipped through his bedroom window. Upon entering, he noticed Boiton stirring awake.

Raditz picked up the chair the boy was tied to and pulled it right in front of him.

Boiton opened his eyes and locked gazes with Raditz. An uncomfortable, heavy silence stretched between the two.

Raditz quickly grew bored, not quite understanding why the kid was being so quiet. Lacking any real icebreaker, our brilliant protagonist decided to introduce himself.

"Raditz," he stated simply.

Boiton gave a small nod of understanding and replied, "Boiton."

Raditz racked his brain, trying to place the name. Was this kid actually part of Akira Toriyama's grand story? Or is he an original? Is this my doing, or is it the butterfly effect from some butterfly in Tokyo?... Man, this alternate timeline stuff is complicated.

Thoroughly confused, Raditz decided to get some answers from his intriguing guest. But before he could fire off a question, he was cut off by the boy frantically struggling against his bonds.

"Let me go! I have to save my family!" Boiton yelled, straining against the ropes. The harder he thrusted, the tighter the knots pulled around him. He kept chanting the same frantic plea over and over until Raditz put a swift stop to it.

Annoyed by the racket, Raditz grabbed the first thing his hand landed on and shoved it right into his noisy prisoner's mouth. He then flared his dominant aura, focusing its crushing weight directly onto the kid. Once he saw Boiton freeze up and calm down, Raditz reached over and pulled the object from his mouth.

"Tell me what I want to hear, or you die..." Raditz growled, his tone dropping into a dark, terrifying register.

Boiton's blood ran cold. He froze completely. Raditz leaned in closer.

"Listen here, short stack. Right now, I ask the questions. And I don't think I need to spell out what happens if you don't answer them..."

A cold sweat broke out across Boiton's forehead. In his mind, he began desperately praying for old Sisly to save him. The oppressive aura grew heavier by the second, making every breath a struggle and completely throwing off his chances of plotting a quick escape. Left with zero options, the young boy gave a stiff, terrified nod.

The suffocating pressure instantly vanished, allowing the terrified kid to gasp for air.

Watching him sweat, Raditz almost burst out laughing, but he forced a straight face and asked:

"Do you come in peace? Are you friend or foe?"

Boiton bypassed the first question entirely and blurted out the second:

"Friend! Definitely a friend!" I gotta get away from this lunatic, he added internally.

Raditz stared into his eyes, looking for any sign of malice. Finding none, he drifted into thought, contemplating what to do with the kid.

After a few seconds, he made up his mind and offered a broad grin.

"Alright, I'll untie you, but you're staying with me. It's not safe for you to wander around alone. Besides, looking at you, it's obvious you've barely been surviving on your own."

Boiton froze, utterly stunned that someone this powerful was offering him help. The offer was so unexpected that suspicion immediately kicked in.

Noticing the shift in Boiton's eyes, Raditz felt a brief pang of sympathy. Adopting a cool, indifferent expression, he untied the boy, then casually flopped onto his bed, staring up at the ceiling.

Boiton immediately bolted toward the window, but just a few paces away, Raditz's voice cut through the room.

"You're free to leave. But my offer is a one-time deal. Walk out that window, and I'll take it as a refusal. Stay, and I'll hear you out and try to help you."

A warm feeling—reminiscent of his family—flared in Boiton's chest, but he kept moving toward the edge. Looking down from the window, he spotted swarms of Royal Guards combing through the lower-class sector. Panic seized him, and he ducked back out of sight. He glanced over at Raditz, who was sitting in a bizarre meditative pose with his eyes closed. Looking back outside, he saw even more guards filling the streets. Escaping was practically impossible now—and if he tried hiding somewhere else, whoever lived there would surely throw him to the wolves.

Raditz's words echoed in his mind. Flush with embarrassment over what he was about to do, Boiton bit his lip.

"HEY, RADITZ... DOES THAT OFFER STILL STAND?!" he yelled out, hastily turning his head away to hide his blushing face.

Raditz didn't even bother opening his eyes, maintaining his meditative posture.

Boiton couldn't stand the silent treatment, but the desperate need to save the people he cared about won out. He clenched his fists, swallowed his pride, looked back at Raditz, and pleaded:

"Can you help me? Please..."

Raditz kept up the facade of deep meditation, but so as not to leave the kid hanging, he gave a subtle nod and a small hand wave—giving his new little sidekick the green light.

Seeing the minimal gesture, Boiton let out a heavy sigh of relief. Realizing his new caretaker was busy, he sat down quietly on the edge of the bed to wait.

Internally, Raditz sighed. Unable to reach a state of deep meditation anyway, he snapped out of his trance and reopened his eyes. Seeing Boiton waiting patiently brought a smirk to the corner of his lips.

Finally, I get to be the captain of something... Does this count as being a squad captain?... Probably not, but hey, it's a start, he thought before speaking aloud.

"In the hands of an amateur, a weapon is just dead weight. But in the hands of a master, it wields overwhelming power," he declared, pausing for dramatic effect as he locked eyes with Boiton. "With my guidance, you could become that overwhelming weapon. A true expert."

While Raditz recited dramatic lines he had once read from ancient proverbs, Boiton stared at him in wide-eyed awe. Admiration bloomed in his heart; his eyes sparkled with fiery excitement.

"I want to be an expert!" he shouted eagerly.

"And you will be," Raditz replied smoothly—while in his mind, a cartoonish version of himself was rolling on the floor, laughing at how easily the kid bought into the speech.

He then proceeded to break down the grand plan.

Half an hour of rambling explanations later...

"And that's how, using this new power, we'll take down that effeminate white alien from the Arcosian race!" Raditz concluded triumphantly.

"I didn't understand a single word of that... except for the part about training," Boiton admitted honestly.

Raditz waved a hand dismissively. "You'll get it eventually, kid."

Even though they had known each other for less than two hours, Boiton felt safe enough to start opening up. Raditz's explanations were crude at best, but they were understandable enough.

Raditz could tell the kid was still holding back full trust, but it was a solid start. And the information he managed to gather from him was far more intriguing than he'd anticipated—even if it came in vague, fragmented pieces.

Blacksmiths, a super-ship, and a tech-savvy old man... This world is getting crazier by the minute, Raditz thought.

"Let's move," Raditz ordered. He grabbed the kid by the shoulder and began sneaking him out. Moving like a ghost, he managed to escort Boiton straight through the lower-class district without alerting a single Imperial Guard.

After an hour of ninja-style stealth, they arrived near the Mission Center. Pulling a heavy cloak from a nearby chair, Raditz wrapped it over his fugitive companion.

As they approached the front desk, Raditz cleared his throat.

"Achu Salud, reporting in," Raditz muttered, a dark blush of embarrassment creeping onto his cheeks. Boiton looked at him sideways, whispering to ask why on earth he went by that name. Raditz snapped at him to shut up and ignored the question.

An eight-armed alien clerk handed them a pass, and they proceeded toward the loading bay.

Inside, various models of spacecraft were lined up—some spherical, others shaped like saucer discs. Raditz stared in utter fascination. It was his first time seeing real starships up close. Inside his head, he was screaming like a fanboy, though his face remained completely stoic.

Boiton scanned the bay and hurried over to a master control console. After typing in a series of custom override codes, a distinctly unique ship was summoned onto the platform. It was considerably larger than the standard pods, plated in sleek platinum, and sported an ultra-futuristic design.

As Boiton approached it, Raditz followed right behind—only to spot two heavy guards standing watch beside the vessel. Raditz shook his head and reached out to grab Boiton, but the kid ignored him and immediately began firing Ki blasts at them.

"ARE YOU INSANE?!" Raditz yelled, furious—but his lecture was cut short as both guards turned their sights on him and charged simultaneously. "Oh, great! You pissed off the guards!"

"Keep them busy! I'm warming up the ship!" Boiton yelled over his shoulder, slipping through the hatch.

The guards deflected the rogue blasts and zeroed in on Raditz, lunging at him at the same time. Our young caretaker dodged the incoming strikes and scrambled to create distance. One guard called for backup through his scouter, while the other scanned Raditz's power level.

"Where do you think you're going, brat?!" one guard shouted, firing a barrage of energy blasts. The attacks missed as Raditz ducked and wove through the fire.

"He's only at 3,000! He's dead meat!" the other guard barked, rushing him.

Raditz barely sidestepped the rush, only to get intercepted by the first guard, who unloaded a point-blank volley of Ki blasts that landed dead-on.

Inside the ship, Boiton slammed Raditz's mission card into the console and frantically began punching override commands into the panel.

"Old man Sisly... your bypass codes better work..." he muttered under his breath.

Back outside, Raditz was getting boxed in. He knew he couldn't win a drawn-out, fair fight against two full-fledged guards—but he wasn't about to go down without giving it his all. Channeling his full strength, he began dodging their lethal strikes, searching for an opening. Spotting a flaw in their coordination, he swept the legs of one guard with a low kick and immediately pivoted toward the second.

Flaring his new power, a surging aura wrapped around his body. His speed exploded, his physical strength spiking instantly. Gathering a heavy charge of energy into his fist, he lunged at the guard, who was completely caught off-guard by the sudden speed boost. The thrusting punch caught the guard square on the jaw, knocking him out cold before he hit the ground.

Seeing his comrade drop, the remaining guard charged at Raditz in a blind fury.

Raditz, however, clutched his chest in sharp pain as he felt his Ki reserves drain out instantaneously. The aura flickered out, leaving his muscles burning—yet he forced himself back into a defensive stance. He slipped past a series of kill-shots, but running on fumes took its toll; the guard caught him with a devastating right hook, followed by a brutal combo of kicks and a short-range Ki blast.

Battered and breathless, Raditz collapsed to the floor at the mercy of the elite warrior.

The guard stepped up, slamming his heavy boot onto Raditz's chest. He bore his full weight down, making the young Saiyan's ribs creak ominously under the pressure.

Idiot... this form eats up way too much stamina... but I have to hold on... Raditz gritted his teeth, enduring the crushing pain. Racking his brain for a way out, he waited for the exact fraction of a second to strike. I can't lose here. I WON'T lose!

Raditz gathered a small Ki sphere in his hand and flicked it right at his opponent's face. The guard leaned back effortlessly to dodge it, sneering down at him—though the near-miss left a thin scratch across his cheek, infuriating him further.

"Pathetic pest..."

"Heh... heh..." Raditz wheezed out a smirk.

Enraged, the guard began charging a blast to finish him off, but before he could fire, he was sent flying through the air. The Ki sphere Raditz had thrown earlier had curved right back around, detonating against the back of the guard's head in a bright explosion.

Raditz lay flat on his back, utterly spent. The fight had been completely exhausting, yet an undeniable rush of excitement painted a wide grin across his bruised face. His Saiyan blood was boiling; the thrill of battle and the longing to face even stronger foes filled his mind.

That was awesome... Maybe I should stick around and fight the backup... Wait, NO! The backup! Realization hit him, and he scrambled to his feet. Nursing his aching body, he staggered toward the open hatch of the ship.

Hearing the heavy footsteps of approaching guards in the distance, a slight shudder ran down his spine. Pushing past his fatigue, he dove inside the vessel.

The moment he crossed the threshold, Boiton engaged the launch sequence. The ship hovered upward, breaking away from Planet Vegeta's staging bay. Boiton jammed down a sequence of switches, opening the primary exit bay, then deployed a medical pod from the wall at the back of the cabin. Grabbing Raditz by the shoulder, he dragged the battered Saiyan over to the pod.

Raditz glared at him, visibly annoyed, and demanded to know what he was doing. Boiton sighed, hauling Raditz inside the pod anyway.

As the healing fluid began to fill the chamber, Boiton offered a quiet explanation.

"I'm sorry for using you as bait and leaving you alone against two elite guards, but I had to secure this ship. This ship belonged to Valentino... my family. The King punished my family over this piece of tech, and there was no way I was going to let that bastard keep it, Master... I know this might bring you trouble, but don't worry—I used custom override codes so they can't trace it back to you. I even hacked the control terminal to show that you launched for your assigned mission hours ago."

Listening through the glass, Raditz was blown away by the kid's technical brilliance. He had no idea the boy was this sharp—though he was still salty about being left behind to take a beating. Before he could decide whether to be mad or impressed, sheer exhaustion overtook him, and he drifted off to sleep to let the pod heal his body.

Outside, as the ship cleared the atmosphere, incoming guards began firing at the vessel. Boiton calmly triggered automated defense protocols, locked in custom coordinates, and activated the ship's stealth cloaking module.

The vessel shot forward at incredible speed, leaving the planet behind as the boys began their journey through the cosmos.

With the quiet hum of the ship filling the cabin, Boiton finally let his guard down and fell fast asleep on the deck.

Hours passed. The medical pod chimed, draining its fluid automatically before retracting into the wall. Raditz stepped out as a burst of warm steam sanitized his skin, leaving him completely dry. He stretched out his limbs, feeling his joints pop as energy coursed back through his veins.

Curious about his progress, he pulled out the Scouter Bardock had given him and scanned himself.

The device beeped rapidly before locking onto a number. Raditz grinned. Channeling his energy, he flared his aura once more—the Scouter read a significantly higher power level than before. Satisfied, he powered down, switched off the device, and tucked it back into his armor.

Walking over to the main cabin, he found Boiton sleeping like a log on the floor. Raditz pondered waking him up, but decided against it, taking a seat in the pilot's chair instead.

Reflecting on his recent fight, he came to a harsh realization: his new trump card was a massive double-edged sword. The power burst was incredible, but the Ki consumption was downright absurd. Still, knowing how critical power multipliers were in this universe, he vowed to master and refine the technique.

Closing his eyes, he focused his Ki toward his tail. Immediately, he felt his energy being drained and converted into raw power. The flow was far more violent and unstable than standard Ki, requiring intense concentration to control. Within moments, the strain drained his energy completely, and he passed out right in his chair.

When he woke up again, Boiton was still fast asleep. Raditz sat back and analyzed the technique further.

The first time I used it, it didn't consume this much Ki. I even trained with it for a few minutes straight! But now, everything's different. Sure, my speed and power are higher, but my energy drains at an insane rate... Did I miss something the first time around? Why such a drastic shift? How can I use this without burning out instantly? Can I even rely on this power? And does this boost have a cap?... So many questions, so few answers, he groaned internally.

Leaning back into the pilot seat, he pondered how to get stronger. He remembered his promise to train the kid and mapped out their next moves. With the plan laid out, he drifted off to sleep once more.

He woke up feeling fully restored. Sitting up, he turned his attention to the main control panel. Holographic menus and displays flickered to life. Raditz stared at the alien text, thoroughly confused. Dropping the stoic act, he shrugged and resorted to the ancient method of trial and error: mashing every button he could find.

Windows popped up everywhere. Mechanical components shifted around the ship. On one attempt, a hidden panel in the back wall slid open, revealing a state-of-the-art kitchen unit. Raditz's eyes lit up, and he immediately scrambled over to check it out.

After making an absolute mess trying to figure out how the appliances worked, he cleaned up his chaos and went back to exploring the ship to satisfy his curiosity. In another section, he discovered a full armory/wardrobe.

That threw him off. From the outside, the ship looked no bigger than a city bus, but the interior felt ridiculously spacious. Shaking off the puzzle for later, he pulled a set of high-class armor off the rack and tried it on.

It was way too big.

He took it off and tried another one.

Too small.

Growing irritated, he kept swapping suits until he finally found one that fit perfectly.

Looking at the mountain of discarded armor on the floor, he let out a heavy sigh and begrudgingly folded them back onto the racks.

Continuing down the corridor, he stepped into another room—a bedroom, where Boiton was currently sprawled out asleep on the mattress. Leaving the kid to rest, Raditz made his way back to the cockpit.

He gazed out into the vast expanse of space. The view was breathtaking—reminiscent of sci-fi movies from his past life, but infinitely grander. He stood there, mesmerized by the cosmos for nearly an hour, before letting out a soft sigh and turning back to business.

Rotating his pilot chair, he mentally prepared for the battles to come.

Shaking off his annoyance, he stretched his arms and began a rigorous physical workout right there on the deck.

Once he finished his warm-up, he sat cross-legged, took a deep breath, and began channeling his energy again. This time, right before the power could drain his reserves, he abruptly cut off the flow and took a deep breath. He rested for a moment, then tried again. Using this rhythmic, controlled method, he managed to avoid passing out.

Panting heavily, he wiped the sweat from his forehead. The continuous practice was mentally and physically brutal. He loved training, but manipulating this strange power was proving to be a nightmare to control. Still, he stood back up and tried flaring it once more.

This time, as the power channeled through his body, the aura burst outward, feeling distinctly looser and more responsive. It was still volatile and wild, but he could maintain it without draining his stamina instantly.

Intrigued, young Raditz decided to push it even further—like the Kaioken. He dropped into a horse stance and roared:

"KAIOKEN TIMES THREE!"

Nothing happened.

Recalling the basic principles of the technique, he tried again. And again.

After dozens of failed attempts, our protagonist collapsed onto the deck, completely ganked. His hopes of instantly mastering a Kaioken-style multiplier hit a wall, but his Saiyan pride refused to let him quit. Dragging himself up, he stumbled over to the medical pod and hit the auto-restore button.

A few hours later, he stepped out of the pod completely restored and went straight back to training.

During one intense push, something incredible happened. The milky-white aura surrounding his body suddenly shifted, taking on a faint, distinct silver sheen. Stunned by the visual change, Raditz lost his concentration—the power instantly backfired, draining his energy and knocking him out cold.

When he finally woke up, a wave of intense fatigue washed over him, accompanied by a loud roar from his stomach.

He scrambled to the kitchen and cooked up a massive feast, leaving a huge pot covered on the counter for Boiton later.

Heading back to the control panel, he pulled up a map of nearby star systems. The screen displayed various planets along with their environmental data. As he skimmed through the entries, one particular entry caught his eye:

A small planetoid with a thin atmosphere and a gravity level 2x higher than Planet Vegeta.

Raditz grinned, tapping the planetoid on the screen.

The system calculated the new flight path and flashed a warning prompt:

<< Selected course will delay arrival at the primary destination. Are you sure you wish to proceed? >>

Raditz slammed his finger onto the confirmation prompt.

The ship immediately fired its thrusters to alter course, executing a sharp pivot that threw Raditz completely off-balance, sending him crashing face-first into the wall. Rubbing his nose, he didn't even care—he simply waited in excitement for the ship to land.

Upon entering the planetoid's orbit, Raditz landed the ship, stepped outside, and immediately began training with his new silver-tinted aura...

Completely unaware that the planetoid beneath his feet was beginning to shift—sprouting massive, writhing tentacles that began slowly coiling around the ship...
