Chapter 70 - Attack of The Infernal Guild, Pt 1: Legendary Clash!

Attack of The Infernal Guild, Pt 1: Legendary Clash!

"It will be as sturdy as the creator who summoned it was powerful."

And, not for the first time, Shifu was tempted to contact 'that' guy. But he didn't. No, instead, he looked at the darkening sky — The Sun was setting.

'Just a few more minutes… They can survive for just a few more minutes…Right?' Shifu thought to himself.

Shifu Wang was a vampire, just like his sire. Only, he was a special kind of vampire — A Daywalker vampire.

Daywalker vampires appear very human during all times of the day and night — Its only when they prepare themselves to hunt or fight that their fangs and claws automatically come out. Its what makes them so scary and oh so evolutionarily superior than the average vampire.

'That said, as a Mid-level chaotic ranked Daywaker vampire, my bloodline ability would more than allow me to get rid of this barrier,' Shifu Wang thought, internally. 'The only issue is that I''ve got to wait until the Sun sets to actually use it. Its more powerful at night and is more than enough to siphon the energy of a Peak level Legendary ranked barrier. I do hope that kid i safe. It would be a shame if our master finds a corpse after all his investments..'.

With a bothered frown,Shifu Wang decided it best to wait until the sun sets and he'd be able to do what needed to do to save everyone traped inside the dome barrier…

[Corven Umbrovante]:

Inside the Dome, it was absolute chaos.

Students, who'd been fighting alongside their friends moments before, attacked their fellow students and former friends. Friends became enemies. Allies became foes. Entire factions turned on themselves. And, while this was mostly the situation amongst the Infernis Faction, Corven also spotted quite a few Heavenly Faction members going rogue as well. Bodies began to pile up in the high tens, as the students who hadn't betrayed their fellow man, processed what was happening and began to launch their counter attack.

Amongst the Infernis faction, the brothers, Dwayne and Tyler fought against many rogue Infernis Faction students, who had tried to kill hem when they were just coming to. And, while these rogues were High level to Peak level Demigod ranked cultivators, similar in power to the twins, they weren't nearly quite as fast as them. The twins held their own quite well against the enemy wave.

The two brothers and some of the true Infernis faction students who hadn't gone rogue were holding the line with all their will and power. Sadly, it won't be enough, ass more than hal the Infernis Faction have gone rogue, leading the ones who haven't outnumbered. That included Euene Vexx, who, after realizing he was facing resistance by his own faction, decided to rid Tyler Lonaine — the speedster with the water and fire affinity — of his head, in a shocking encounter.

"NOOOO!" Dwayne's scream was so screechingly devastating that it was heard by all around him, his anguish hard alongside his shock. He rushed to his brother's fallen corpse, sharking in fear or shock or anger — Corven knew not which exactly, probably all three. "My brother! Nooo!"

As Dwayne knelt over Tyler's headless body, Tyler's headless neck staining the ground beneath him crimson as, even through the river of blood, his spine could be spotted through the wound. He clutched Tyler's fallen form, his heart heavy even as he teared up at losing his other half.[Shifu Wang]:

The instructors of Mythorus Academy rushed towards the barrier — The place they had been observing the progress of the war game from was outside the closed off section of the Dark Forest, so, when they lost connection with that part of the forest, they immediately rushed that way.

When they arrived at the eastside barrier, they tried forcing their way through with both physical strength, weapons usage, mana use and, for those chaotic rank and above, world essence. Using all kinds of skills and abilities, both innate and learned, they unleashed their powers upon thebarrier… Unfortunately, it was not enough, not even to make a dent.

"This barrier just won't budge!" announced Cole Seger boisterously in frustration.

"It was produced by a Peak Legendary ranker," Rowena Rae stated, clearly disturbed, but, also, enraged that own power wasn't enough to save her students who were in danger. "It will be as sturdy as the creator who made summoned it was powerful."

[Corven Umbrovante]:

Inside the Dome, it was absolute chaos.

Entire factions turned on themselves. And, while this was mostly the situation amongst the Infernis Faction, Corven also spotted quite a few Heavenly Faction members going rogue as well.

"NOOOO!"

Dwayne's scream tore through the battlefield with such raw, screeching devastation that everyone nearby heard it. It wasn't just grief in his voice—it was horror, disbelief, rage, anguish, all collapsing into one broken sound. He stumbled forward toward his brother's fallen, headless corpse, nearly dropping to his knees beside it as his hands shook violently.

"My brother…!" he choked out, voice cracking apart as panic and grief consumed him. "No… no, no, no—!"

Whether he was trembling from fear, shock, fury, or all three at once, Corven couldn't tell. Perhaps Dwayne himself couldn't either.

As Dwayne knelt over Tyler's headless body, Tyler's headless neck staining the ground beneath him crimson as, even through the river of blood, his spine could be spotted through the wound. He clutched Tyler's fallen form, his heart heavy even as he teared up at losing his other half.

"You should've joined us," came the grave voice of Eugene Vexx, somehow both condescending and taunting to all who heard it. Even as he took his time making his way to the remaining twin, Eugene Vexx stood tall and prideful, as only a devil worshipping warrior could. "Now, both Lobane brothers fall this day."

Corven watched from afar as the monster in human skin stalked his prey. He was contemplating if he should join the fight yet. Realistically, he knew he stood no chance, but, internally, he wanted to save the speedster — Not for any noble reason outside of wanting to turn Dwayne into a shadowborn. He was even contemplating turning the other twin into an undead.

Or maybe he should hold off on turning Tyler into an undead… His intuition, for some reason, was urging him to store the dead body into his Shadow Space and save its living, speedster brother.

'I could use a speedster amongst the ranks of my Shadowborn,' Corven thought to himself. 'I could also use him to strengthen my own experience when facing other speedsters…Perhaps I should intervene…?'

"You!" Dwayne Lobane looked up from clutching his twin brother's corpse in a fury he's never felt before, defiant until the end. "I curse you, you bastard. I curse you for an eternity. I curse a Hell you'll never recover from. Matter of fact, I'll kill you myself for what you have done!"

Eugene was upon Dwayne in an instant, his blade already raised for the finishing strike. There was no hesitation in his eyes—he intended to execute the boy before he could ever grow into a threat worth fearing in the future. And even as the surviving twin lunged toward him in desperation, Eugene remained utterly certain he would win the clash.

But just as the two were about to collide, Flicker appeared directly behind Dwayne. In one swift motion, the Tainted werewolf seized both brothers—the living twin and the corpse of the fallen one—and instantly teleported away before Eugene's blade could descend.

They reappeared moments later before Corven, who reacted without pause. Shadows surged upward and swallowed the grieving boy whole, dragging him into Corven's Shadow Space alongside his brother's body before anyone else could notice or interfere.

'Sometimes its better to control a useful fool, then to lose one to its own meaningless idiocies,' Corven thought to himself, still hiding in the literal shadows of the trees, watching everything unfold.

Over by the Heavenly Faction, Oscar Sky and the forces of his faction who hadn't turned traitor, were facing the enemies who had.

Calling down strikes of lightning after lightning, Oscar was like a thunder god on the battlefield. Utilizing his silver lance, he pierced the vital organs of his enemies — Some of which may have been weaker before the fight begun, but, now that its started, were releasing their own demonic auras that rivalled his own in terms of pressure — Though still weaker than his own, they were still formidable, especially with the numbers he was currently facing.

"You dare betray the trust and sanctity of this Academy!?" Oscar Sky's holier than thou voice boomed across the battlefield as his lance caught a bolt of lightning mid-strike. Twirling the lightning infused lance like a dancer of lightning, slicing and frying traitorious students who stood in his way. The enemies who survived proximity to the lightning, did not stand the wounds caused by said electric lance — At least, not easily.

That said, there were still more of his peers who turned on his faction then there were still left in it and they were overwhelming in number. Many had defiling auras to them so malevolent in power, Corven could feel it from where he was across the battlefield, in the shelter of the shadows. Oscar Sky might be powerful and capable of holding his own at the moment, but even Corven knew he would soon be overwhelmed eventually. It was only a matter of time.

Oscar's little brother — Josh Sky, the boy who had challenged Corven on the first day of class – hovered upon a twister of wind, bringing down gale winds and windy air slashes upon the enemy — A trick he recently developed after getting defeated by Corven in such a humiliating way.

'This war game was supposed to be my redemption and chance to prove my strength. To show I'm stronger than that bastard, Corven,' Josh Sky growled internally. 'And you ruined it! DAMN YOU, INFERNAL GUILD!'

In his rage, the tornado he stood upon extended like a balloon, enveloping all who got caught in it and sending out a shockwave of displaced air like an explosion of wind.

THWOOOM!

The explosion of air left Josh Sky panting on his knees, the trees were uprooted and the earth around him split apart like a massive TNT explosion had detonated. The attack shredded those closest to the blast apart like a shredder. Even those further from the blast point were affected by Josh's formidable air elemental abilities, injured and clutching wounds with bleeding hands.

In just a single move, over 20 different traitors were either shredded or fatally wounded. And, as Josh got back up to his feet with mild difficulty, his eyes showed he was still pissed. The next moment, he summoned another wind vortex to lift him high like he was some elemental avatar, though the tornado was noticeably thinner than before but it was still quite powerful, allowing him to continue his assault on the enemy.

Still, like his brother, he, too, was out of his depth — There was just too many, and they began using their own explosive powers: city block-level crimson fiery explosions combated Oscar alongside sonar sonic screams strong enough to devastate a massive town square, lightning strong enough to level a skyscraper blasted Josh's way, torrents of earthshards big enough to be considered a meteor chucked at his allies. And try as they might, they weren't strong enough to tank it all without sacrifice and without loss.

They were soon to be overrun with the enemy any minute now. After all, of the original numbers of the Heavenly Faction, at least 3/5th had turned traitor.

'At this rate, the enemy will defeat the strongest faction in the Academy,' Corven thought, analyzing the situation. 'I can't let that happen. Otherwise, we'll definitely lose before the Instructors get a chance to evaluate everyone…Hmm…'.

'Ghost…,' Corven's voice echoed through his Tier S shadow undead of an alpha wolf. 'Lead your shadow wolves to reinforce Oscar and Josh Sky and their allies.'

Howling in response, the alpha shadow wolf led the shadow wolf charge against the onslaught of traitorious students. They held nothing back in their assault, tearing their fangs through flesh, bitting through bone and ripping entire limbs off with their razorsharp claws.
