He wasn't about to let the moment slide through his fingers.
But knowing all she had been through, he was a little… hesitant.
Had she even stopped bleeding? Was she in any form of discomfort?
How did one ask a woman such personal questions? He wondered.
When he glanced down at her, he saw that she was staring at him with wide eyes.
"Why is there so much… colour in your face? Is anything the matter?"
The urge to touch his own face loomed but he ignored it.
Heat had flooded into his face at his embarrassing thoughts.
The last thing he needed was to look weak in front of her.
But she was not laughing… she was concerned.
Was it so out of place for a man like him to be embarrassed?
He pulled away from her and ran a hand through his hair.
"We have to talk about some… things."
Her brow rose up. "What things?"
Her face had paled considerably.
"About your health… and other things."
