"Huh?"
The two demons looked at the blue-edged slip in Sally's hand, their expressions immediately turning strange.
The Aden Square Food Ranking has been around for decades, and it's published monthly. Almost every decent restaurant in Aden Square participates, so everyone is familiar with the voting process. Today is the first day of this month's ranking competition, and also the first day of voting.
"Okay." The two demons nodded almost simultaneously. Although their feelings were a bit complicated, but as long as they weren't blacklisted, they were fine. They came back, each took a slip, and obediently sat down to fill them out.
"It seems that Boss Mai is indeed preparing to climb the rankings this time."
"Although climbing the rankings is a good thing, but I have mixed feelings. I'm afraid that such a good restaurant will be buried, and I'm also worried that a bunch of tourist groups following the rankings will crowd the restaurant."
"Yes, it's true that we already have to wait in line for a long time to get a meal, but as long as we wait, we can get a meal. In the future, we might not even be able to get a meal even if we wait in line."
The guests watched this scene and began to discuss it quietly, their expressions somewhat complicated.
Sally stood by the table with the tray, while the two demons sat upright in front of the table, holding pens, looking more obedient than primary school students.
Each slip lists five dishes, with the names and prices pre-written in elegant handwriting. Guests can simply tick the dishes they have already enjoyed. Each dish is rated on a 5-point scale, based on four criteria: overall rating, taste, ambiance, and service. A score of 5 indicates extremely satisfied, 4 indicates very satisfied, 3 indicates satisfied, 2 indicates average, and 1 indicates extremely poor. In addition, customers can write reviews below each dish.
"Overall rating: 5/5! Taste: 5/5! Ambiance: 5/5! Service..." The two demons simultaneously looked up at Sally, then emphasized, "5/5!"
"Review: Absolutely delicious!" The two of them put down the pens at the same time, looked at Sally, and chuckled awkwardly, "Is this alright?"
"Hmm." Sally glanced at the slips in their hands and nodded with satisfaction.
"Can we go now?" the demon who had made the suggestion earlier asked again.
"Okay." Sally nodded.
The two demons, as if granted a pardon, got up and hurried towards the door, only letting out a long sigh of relief once they were outside.
"Terrifying."
"It's all because you talk too much nonsense. Come on, let's go. We still have a few more tasks to do today."
"What about the service rating?"
"You want to change it?"
The two glanced back at the restaurant, immediately shook their heads, and quickly left.
Sally stacked the bowls and spoons on the table onto the tray, then cast a small water spell with her right hand, washing the table surface clean and making it gleaming. It was far cleaner than if she had wiped it with a cloth, leaving the guests at the two nearby tables somewhat dumbfounded.
"These days, people are embarrassed to work as waiters if they don't have some special skills?"
The thought flashed through everyone's minds simultaneously.
"See? If you don't study hard, you won't even be able to work as a waiter!" A father tapped his son's head as he sat next to him and earnestly warned him.
"I understand." The little boy nodded in deep agreement, his resolve to study hard strengthened.
Sally's gaze swept over the guests, and they all immediately lowered their heads to eat obediently.
"Strange, why do these people seem a little afraid of me? Am I not gentle enough?" Sally carried the bowls towards the kitchen, wondering to herself. In the past, she would never speak more than three words to a man, but today she had tried her best to be more amiable.
Yabemia brought out two servings of braised chicken. As she and Sally passed each other, she gave Sally a thumbs up and a cheerful, encouraging smile.
Sally nodded slightly, as if she had suddenly regained her confidence, and quickened her pace. She put the dishes into the dishwasher she had learned to use. This magical thing could automatically wash the dishes clean just by putting them in and pressing a button. The dishes came out as clean as if she had washed them with magic.
She had suggested that she could use magic to clean the dishes, but Mai Ge politely declined the suggestion, not wanting her to use too much magic.
"Well done, keep it up." Mai Ge smiled and encouraged Sally. He didn't force Sally to always smile and greet guests like Yabemia. Given her personality, that would probably be more painful for her than death. It was fine as it was now, as long as the guests didn't feel uncomfortable.
"Mm." Sally nodded, feeling a surge of energy coursing through her body. She consciously quickened her movements and, upon hearing someone say it was time to pay the bill, hurriedly walked out the door.
With Sally sharing the work of settling the bills and clearing tables, Yabemia seemed much more at ease, greeting each guest with a smile and giving them a warm morning.
Sally, who was collecting the money, gave off a refreshing vibe, instantly making everyone feel refreshed, and everyone cooperated in filling out the slips.
"Boss Mai's restaurant is undoubtedly a five-star establishment, but I think it's necessary to give future customers a proper assessment of the tofu pudding. Is Sweet Tofu Pudding even fit for human consumption? Sweet Tofu Pudding, taste, one star! Extremely poor!" After ticking the Savory Tofu Pudding and Braised Chicken Rice he had already ordered, a customer looked at the Sweet Tofu Pudding on top and became increasingly angry. With a stroke of the pen, he gave it a 1 star rating.
"Damn it! You actually dared to give Sweet Tofu Pudding a one star rating! Savory Tofu Pudding is the worst flavor ever, I'm giving it a one star rating too!"
"One star is fine! Who's afraid of who! We, the Savory Faction, will win!"
"Hmph, we Sweet Faction aren't afraid of anyone!"
That customer's words acted as a fuse, instantly igniting the previously peaceful relationship between the sweet and savory factions, and both sides immediately began exchanging one star reviews.
"This…" Sally looked at the scene and was a little at a loss. Although she also liked Sweet Tofu Pudding, but Boss Mai had just explained to them the importance of this ranking competition that morning. This behavior of giving each other 1 star could very likely cause both sweet and savory tofu pudding to be dropped from the ranking.
"Let them vote according to their own wishes." Mai Ge said softly, appearing behind her unexpectedly. Though he smiled, he was inwardly cursing.
As expected, the scene did occur. Fortunately, the system only required one dish to be in the top 30 to complete the task. Currently, the restaurant's most popular dish is Rou Jia Mo, so as long as it doesn't affect the Rou Jia Mo's ranking, it's fine.
"Okay." Sally nodded slightly, feeling relieved after hearing Mai Ge's words, and continued settling accounts and clearing tables for the guests.
…
"Lu Lu, we've finally arrived in the Chaos City! I heard it's super safe here, so those guys shouldn't be chasing us anymore, right? I also heard there's tons of delicious food here!" At the entrance to Aden Square, a brown-haired woman who looked to be about twenty three or twenty four years old asked the tall man beside her with great anticipation.
