The holy light struck the center of the vortex, instantly collapsing the green vortex and scattering it in all directions. The trees surrounding the castle were swept away as if by a raging storm, collapsing outwards.
"The Dense Forest Starfall has been stopped!"
An elf exclaimed, and the rest of the elves looked at Irina with awe.
"How is this possible!" Hubert's eyes widened. His most prized ultimate forbidden spell had been instantly shattered by Irina's holy light. Wasn't she severely injured and her level drastically reduced when she returned to the Wind Forest three years ago?
However, Irina didn't answer his question, because she had already vanished from the treetop.
"Not good!" Hubert became alert, waved his magic wand, and countless vines and wooden walls appeared on the ground in front of him. At the same time, he tried to retreat rapidly.
Just then, the pale golden light shield surrounding his body suddenly burst forth with dazzling golden light and abruptly contracted, rendering him unable to move for an instant. It turned out that this was not an attack spell at all, but a binding spell.
Hubert was greatly alarmed. He silently chanted a spell, and a green light shield enveloped his entire body, its color becoming increasingly deep and heavy. He looked around, trying to figure out where Irina would emerge from. This binding magic was clearly short-lived, he would be able to break free in just three more seconds.
Irina's strength indeed exceeded his expectations. Three years ago, she returned to the Wind Forest and gave birth to a half-elf child. The massive bleeding caused her strength to drop drastically, and Lady Helena determined that she would never be able to recover her strength as a level ten archmage. However, judging from the holy light that just tore apart the Dense Forest Starfall, her strength has been fully restored, and she may even be stronger than she was three years ago.
However, he was not too desperate. Given his status and the contributions he had made to the Elven race over the years, Lady Helena and Her Majesty the Queen would definitely not watch him die.
He had made up his mind that after this matter was over, he would immediately join forces with the other ministers to put pressure on the Queen to remove Irina from her status as an elven princess and select a new elven princess from among the various families. He had that matter in his hands, and even the elven Queen would have to be wary of the consequences if all the elven people found out.
"I think you should know why I want to kill you." Golden light shone from behind Hubert, and Irina stepped forward slowly, raising her mage staff. She said coldly, "You, and those who attacked back then, I will take their lives one by one. I will not let anyone who hurt my child and him go."
"No! Irina, you can't kill me! You're a traitor!" Hubert felt the magical fluctuations gathering behind him, his whole body turning cold. He suddenly remembered that rainy night three years ago, the man who had tied his child to his chest and fought a bloody battle. His voice and tone were just as cold.
He was watching from the sidelines, occasionally casting a spell or two to distract him. He was indeed very strong, he had never seen such a powerful knight before. But he was alone, while they had many of them, so he lost.
Hubert still remembered the knight using his sword to keep himself from falling, and the cold look in his eyes as he swept over everyone present. Even though he was crippled, but he still made people feel cold.
"Irina, stop!" The void nearby distorted, and Helena appeared in mid-air, shouting coldly, her magic wand already pointing at her.
"Little Yi, put it down." A gentle voice rang out from the void, seemingly coming from nowhere, but all the elves present lowered their heads.
"Pfft!"
A muffled sound rang out, and a blinding golden light erupted from the mage staff, shattering the green magic shield and striking Hubert on the back of the head. Although several magical barriers appeared in between, including a golden one, but the mage staff still smashed through them with unstoppable force.
Blood and white brain matter sprayed out from the deformed skull, the green light shield shattered, and the light in Hubert's eyes gradually disappeared as he slowly collapsed to the ground, his eyes remaining open until his death.
"Sorry, you're late." Irina looked up at Helena and smiled sarcastically. A faint golden light flowed across the mage staff, purifying everything that was impure, as if she had just swatted away a mere annoying fly.
"Patriarch Hubert is dead!!!"
The elves of the Kroll family cried out in alarm as they looked at Hubert, who lay motionless in a pool of blood.
As one of the most powerful and influential families among the elves, they had become accustomed to living under Hubert's protection. Now, the towering tree that supported the entire Kroll family had fallen. Without any warning or reason, Irina came to their door and killed their patriarch with a single blow. This surreal feeling left them with a blank mind, as if the sky was about to collapse.
"The princess killed the Smiling Underworld King! She killed Hubert!" The enslaved elves, seeing Irina standing there holding her mage staff, and Hubert lying prostrate on the ground, suddenly felt their hearts, previously dulled by oppression, pound violently.
The patriarch of the Kroll family, a level ten archmage, a minister in charge of elven punishments, who had enacted various laws to gradually rob them of their freedom, turning them from free spirits into slaves, had finally died at Princess Irina's hands. Like holy light shining upon the earth, it rekindled their spirits, and the hope of freedom seemed to reappear in front of them.
The invited guests were all filled with apprehension. What would happen to them if Irina was killed simply because Hubert enslaved ordinary elves?
"Irina, do you know what you've done!" Helena coldly shouted, staring at Hubert, who had been instantly killed by the holy light as his skull was pierced.
"Lady Helena! Please do justice for Patriarch Hubert! Princess Irina came to our door and killed the patriarch without any reason. The patriarch was highly respected among the elves, having dedicated his life to the race, and now he has met such an end. If we are not given justice, we will all be disheartened." Hubert's younger brother stepped forward, his face filled with grief.
"Please, Lady Helena and Her Majesty the Queen, grant us justice!" The members of the Kroll family all knelt down with a thud, shouting loudly.
Helena's expression grew even colder, black light surging behind her, seemingly ready to erupt at any moment.
"Why did I kill him? Helena, don't you really know?" Irina looked at Helena with a hint of mockery, her long silver hair flowing, completely disregarding the Kroll family members.
"According to the Elven Codex, anyone who kills an Elven minister will be judged by the Elder Council. Irina, you have committed such a heinous crime. Even if you are a princess, you will still be judged and punished. Surrender now." Helena said in a deep voice. With a wave of her hand, the once bright sky was instantly shrouded in darkness, and the entire Wind Forest was plunged into darkness. A bright moon hung high in the sky, and countless stars twinkled in the night. Helena, standing in the void, shimmered with starlight, like a deity.
"I only know the natural laws of the elves. I do not recognize the elven code you guys concocted. Using human laws to elves is simply a joke. Helena, if you want to fight today, then I will fight you to the end!" Irina took a step forward, and the top of the mage staff in her hand emitted a dazzling light, like a torch rising in the night.
At the same time, the cave where the Tree of Life was located also lit up with a dazzling light. A light green light pierced the darkness and injected into Irina's body, as if forming a bond between the two.
