Chapter 394: Resolving Disputes
Naruto returning home from school brought the naming storm to a sudden halt.
Masahiko didn't know what name they gave the child. Anyway, he had thought of several and would pick one based on the situation when the time came.
Whether she had blonde hair or red hair, Masahiko wasn't panicked at all.
Even if they really gave birth to another boy, Masahiko had already made up his mind; he would name him Light Yagami, give him a Death Note, and give Great Ancestor a quick release.
"I hope Naruto can grow up faster because of having a younger sister," Masahiko muttered softly, looking at Naruto, who hadn't stopped making a fuss since learning about Kushina's pregnancy. "Speaking of which, children in the Shinobi world mature really early. Naruto has never had the distress of 'being picked up from a garbage dump'."
Not knowing what came to mind, Masahiko sighed faintly. "Back then... Great Ancestor matured late."
...
What the brat Naruto knew, his classmates would know, and then his classmates' parents would know... Basically, the entire Konoha knew.
Hiruzen even specifically sought out Masahiko to ask if Kushina would return to the Land of Whirlpools for the delivery this time. Receiving a head shake in response from Masahiko, he stated he would definitely set up the defenses well when the time came.
Masahiko didn't object, employing the 'make the fake look real, and the real look fake' strategy from the Thirty-Six Stratagems.
Waiting until March of next year to smoothly fly Kushina and the others to the moon, while simultaneously tricking both the enemy and allied forces... just thinking about it was exciting.
...
As the saying goes, pregnancy takes ten months. Although ten months is just a general term - the actual time is only about two hundred and eighty days - it was still not short.
Life had to go on as usual. Masahiko couldn't just stay at Kushina's house every day doing nothing, eagerly sensing whether the child in her stomach was growing healthily...
Kushina did indeed want him to do that, but Masahiko flatly refused. Wasn't this treating Great Ancestor as a human ultrasound machine? I am radiation-free and pollution-free, but still... just going over to scan her every few days was enough.
Masahiko had his own things to do.
First was to form the 'We Can't Stand Each Other, Hawk' team with Toneri, Sasuke, and Naruto. This was very easy.
Toneri listened to Masahiko very well, Naruto was easy to fool, and Sasuke... required authoritarian oppression.
However, Team Hawk was nowhere near as important as the Akatsuki organization. Doing this only gave Masahiko 100 Witness Points. He was still 105 points away from the 500-point mark. He had already farmed all the possible spots in Konoha, so it would be very difficult to gather the rest in a short time.
Masahiko had a vague premonition that after maxing out his Yin attribute to level ten, he would probably obtain some incredible gains.
"The Yin attribute represents spirit and soul. The opened space should be in the brain, the Opening Gate of the Eight Gates... isn't this just getting enlightened? When the time comes, probably no one will be able to stop Great Ancestor's IQ."
However, one cannot eat stinky tofu if they are too impatient.
Even if he gathered enough Witness Points, Masahiko still had to wait for Kushina to finish giving birth and recover her health before adding the points. Heaven knows if he would produce another orb, dragging things out for another month or two and ruining important matters.
With plenty of free time, Masahiko finally put the research on spatial nodes on the agenda.
It had been some time since he obtained the complete Eight Trigrams Two Hundred and Fifty-Six Palms from the Hyuga clan. Because he felt it was troublesome, his procrastination flared up. Delaying here and there, he dragged it out until now.
When he truly made up his mind to do it, it wasn't too troublesome. Taking only a month, Masahiko traveled across the entire ninja world through the spatial nodes and discovered their pattern.
It was actually very simple. It divided the ninja world evenly into a 16 by 16 grid, starting from the 'top left' and moving right in a serpentine pattern.
The fact that he frequently ended up in the sea previously wasn't Masahiko's fault either. The ocean's area was much larger than the land's, and more than half of the spatial nodes led to the sea.
Mm, it wasn't because Masahiko had bad luck.
However, because he wasn't familiar enough with it yet, Masahiko's usage of the nodes wasn't very smooth.
"Eight Trigrams One Palm, Two Palms... One Hundred and Seventy-Eight Palms..." Masahiko stood in his dimension, poking his right hand around. "One Hundred and Ninety-Nine Palms, this is it, let's go!"
The next second, Masahiko jumped onto a hilltop near Konoha.
"Finally succeeded." Masahiko breathed a long sigh of relief. Running around to various places during this time, all of which were desolate areas, wasn't physically tiring, but it was far too boring.
"Time to go back to Konoha to see Tsuki-kun..." Masahiko lifted his foot, about to flicker away, but suddenly paused. In his perception, three familiar chakra fluctuations existed on the other side of the mountain.
"Itachi, Shisui, and Fugaku's eldest son, Uchiha Kazuki? What are they doing gathering together? Sparring?"
Masahiko looked curious and quietly walked over.
The three were sitting in a triangle on three wooden stools, each frowning deeply as if contemplating something hard. Itachi and Shisui were still in their Anbu attire, but had both taken off their masks.
Masahiko's eyes widened slightly, letting out a suppressed exclamation. "Playing Fight the Landlord?! Ahem, no, is this the legendary sitting and discussing the Dao?"
Hearing the sound, the three saw Masahiko and were all stunned.
"Great Ancestor? Why are you here?"
Masahiko pondered for a moment. "I wanted to ask you guys the same thing. What are you trying to do, coming to my hilltop?"
The three exchanged glances. Itachi spoke up, "We didn't know this was your hilltop. We will leave right now!"
Masahiko laughed softly. Who were they trying to fool?
"Don't be in a hurry. Is there something you don't want me to know? Let me in on it."
Itachi: "..."
...
Seeing the three of them together in this remote place, Masahiko actually had a guess. One Senju clansman, two Uchiha clansmen, all with 'positive and motivated' personalities. Gathering together was nothing more than wanting to discuss and resolve the dispute between the Senju and the Uchiha.
"Why not include Obito?" Masahiko smiled and said.
"Brother Obito... easily lets things slip." Shisui hesitated to speak.
Masahiko was startled, his smile widening. "Obito is still somewhat reliable at critical moments. Ahem, forget it, even I don't believe that..."
Pausing for a moment, Masahiko continued, "How do you plan to resolve this? Those few elders of the Uchiha clan are all stubborn ones, not to mention the Senju are in the wrong in this matter, and even I don't have a solution. Itachi, you can't possibly hand over your younger brother, right?"
"Senior, our Uchiha currently... has no elders," Uchiha Kazuki spoke up.
Masahiko was stunned. "What, they were deposed?"
Itachi softly explained to Masahiko. In the battle at the beginning of the year, there were indeed casualties. The Senju lost three elite Jonin, while the Uchiha lost the Second Elder and the Third Elder.
"Is that so?" Masahiko really didn't know about this. "Then the Uchiha Great Elder... oh, right, he fainted from shock when Sasuke awakened his Sharingan."
Itachi gently tugged at Masahiko's sleeve. "That is Kazuki's great-grandfather."
"Ahem..." Masahiko looked slightly embarrassed and changed the subject. "So, now is indeed the best time to resolve the dispute between the two families?"
The three exchanged glances. Itachi nodded and said, "If you can participate, we will be much more confident!"
