The strange combination of anticipation and dread mixed with the warmth of its familiarity sent an electric jolt along his spine. He finally glanced at his phone, a message from days ago demanding his attention.
Though he had been the one to offer his house as a place of refuge for the Anchor, he didn't expect said Anchor to take his offer.
But a smile appeared on his face nonetheless, and he found himself typing out a reply without thinking. He would pick him up tomorrow.
Kenneth insisted on getting there himself, but Lucien didn't like the idea of his Anchor going to such means just for him. It was only right for the person inviting him to go pick him up.
