Chapter song: No One Noticed - The Marías
The moment Fae stepped into the bustling café, she noticed the flicker of sunlight catching on the empty saucer by the window.
A window that happened to be right next to the very man who had been in her every waking thought, a man who had the ability to feel bursts of hope and joy and feel absolutely miserable all at the same time. It felt like a sign. Fae didn't believe in coincidences, as she'd always been told that everything has a reason, just as everything has a cause and effect.
So when she saw Durian Black sitting at the far left corner of the cafe, she was taken aback. It was a pretty, pink, very girly, and not at all his scene cafe. Fae didn't know whether her eyes were playing tricks on her or if she had somehow conjured up his image. That would be insane, right?
How could he, of all people, end up in a place like this?
