Chapter 130 - Chapter 130: A Comfortable Life!

"Huh... This girl across from us, her looks, image, temperament, and all her other qualities are really excellent!"

Just as Chu Wan was getting excited because the piano music played a melody familiar to her, a middle-aged man at a table of guests diagonally across from her suddenly exclaimed in surprise, squinting his eyes and sighing.

"Where?"

Beside the man, a companion of similar age asked.

The middle-aged man pointed towards Chu Wan:

"Lao Yi, isn't your company currently looking to set up a female idol trainee boot camp model? What do you think of this girl? Does she meet the requirements?"

His companion, whom he called 'Lao Yi', squinted and appraised Chu Wan for a while, and said,

"This girl's foundation is indeed very good, but the path to stardom isn't one everyone wants to take. You... shouldn't see a good prospect and immediately think of pushing them into the industry."

"That won't do, this is my job."

The middle-aged man said.

Then, without waiting for his companion's reaction, he directly stood up and walked towards Chu Wan's location.

"Hello, I'm Zhou Xinchou, a talent scout from 'Chenxing Culture'."

Zhou Xinchou smiled and handed Chu Wan his business card,

"I see that the young lady's qualities are excellent in all aspects. Does the young lady have dreams of becoming a star or an actress?"

Su Yi reached out and took his business card, looked him over carefully, and replied,

"I'm sorry, my sister can't see."

"Is it congenital blindness?"

When Zhou Xinchou heard that Chu Wan couldn't see, a wave of regret immediately rose in his heart.

"Acquired."

Su Yi replied.

"Oh, what a pity."

Zhou Xinchou sighed softly,

"Your sister's qualities are truly excellent in all aspects."

"Thank you for the compliment."

Su Yi smiled and handed the business card back to him.

Zhou Xinchou continued to appraise Chu Wan carefully, but did not take the business card Su Yi offered back, saying,

"If your sister's eyes are cured later, feel free to contact me anytime."

"Alright."

Su Yi smiled and kept the business card.

Immediately after, Zhou Xinchou continued to learn a bit more about Chu Wan from Su Yi, and then left.

"Xiao Yi Ge, is this Mr. Zhou really a talent scout?"

After Zhou Xinchou left, Chu Wan asked curiously.

Su Yi looked at the business card in his hand, recalled the man's demeanor and tone earlier, and said,

"'Chenxing Culture' is quite famous in the industry, it seems. This person's identity appears to be genuine, but it hasn't been verified, so one shouldn't easily trust it at any time."

"Oh!"

Chu Wan softly acknowledged.

"Being approached by a talent scout, are you still quite happy inside?"

Su Yi asked.

Chu Wan nodded, and said with a smile,

"I used to genuinely dream of being a big star, but after waking up... I knew it was false."

"Do you want to be a big star?"

Su Yi continued to ask with a smile.

What Zhou Xinchou said earlier was not wrong; Chu Wan's qualities were indeed excellent in all aspects.

However, Su Yi did not wish for her to develop in this direction in the future.

After all, the entertainment industry is no better than the financial industry; materialism, indulgence, and greed are everywhere.

Compared to the atmosphere of these two industries, which are like quagmires, Chu Wan is like a spotless white flower, untouched by the true darkness of this world, nourished by mountain springs and warm sunlight.

Her heart still retains a clear filter for this world, she yearns for all the beauty of this world with an untainted heart, and always embraces this world with kindness.

She is a peaceful sanctuary in his heart.

She is also a place where he can put his mind at ease, outside of the treacherous and highly dangerous financial market, without having to dwell too much on gains and losses, or overthinking.

Chu Wan shook her head and said,

"No."

"Why?"

Su Yi asked, slightly surprised.

Chu Wan smiled and said,

"Because things are great now. Dad used to say that people should learn to be content and happy. Being a big star was my old dream, but now I feel... as long as I can be by Xiao Yi Ge's side, it's wonderful, truly wonderful."

Su Yi listened to her words, smiled softly, and said no more.

He simply took the business card and quietly threw it into the trash can under the dining table.

"Xiao Yi Ge, what is your dream?"

Chu Wan paused, and then suddenly asked curiously.

Su Yi thought for a moment, and replied,

"When I was little, I dreamed of being a scientist or an astronaut. But now that I've grown up... I just want to make money, and ensure that the people I care about can live a better life."

"Then Xiao Yi Ge's dream has come true."

Chu Wan said,

"Xiao Yi Ge is already very rich."

Su Yi smiled and said,

"It's far from enough. This world is vast, and there are many wealthy people. The little money your Xiao Yi Ge has made now is actually nothing in the eyes of many, and it can't change the fates of many people I care about. At least... I haven't even cured your eyes, Wan'er."

Although he had accumulated some capital now, making life at home a little better.

But Su Yi knew.

He was still very, very far from his anticipated goal.

"Not being able to see... actually doesn't matter much."

Chu Wan's face was alight with a smile,

"In my heart, Xiao Yi Ge is my eyes. I can experience all the wonders of this entire world through Xiao Yi Ge."

"But I still want you to see it with your own eyes."

Su Yi placed the steak he had cut in front of Chu Wan, insisting.

The two of them chatted freely.

Chu Wan shared her insights into every little detail of life, opening her heart to Su Yi without reservation.

Su Yi, too, smiled as he answered her strange questions, listened to her feelings about life, and expressed his own thoughts and opinions.

Before they knew it, time flew by quickly.

When the two finished their meal and walked out of the restaurant, it was already past 2 PM.

Su Yi continued to browse with Chu Wan for a while, before taking their day's shopping spoils, and driving back home.

When they arrived home,

Mother had already made many dumplings with Liu Ayi, while Father was still tending to the flowers and plants on the balcony—loosening soil, fertilizing, repotting, watering, pruning branches... various intricate plant care techniques.

He had learned them quite proficiently from Zhou Ayi at home, looking every bit like a professional master gardener.

"How was it? You must be hungry, right? We'll cook the dumplings and eat right away."

Mother Su looked at the returning pair, a smile appearing on her face, and then immediately went to the kitchen with Liu Ayi to get busy.

Su Yi knew his mother couldn't stay idle.

He had never stopped her from doing housework with Liu Ayi.

He simply had his parents try on the clothes he bought for them.

Once they found them suitable, he didn't concern himself further, and leisurely sat on the living room sofa, watching TV while waiting for dinner.

Chu Wan sat beside him, wearing headphones and listening intently to music.

At her feet, the dog named 'Yuanbao', rested its head on her feet, lazily sprawled on the floor, watching TV with Su Yi.

Su Yi noticed that this fellow had become increasingly lazy and fat since they moved.

He couldn't help but roll his eyes at it, and began to miss the big yellow dog, Da Huang, back home.

He thought that he should have brought Da Huang when he left.

That way... with Da Huang's suppression, this dog probably wouldn't be so lazy, relying on human influence.

Yuanbao noticed Su Yi's gaze, and couldn't help but look up and bark at him twice.

Su Yi saw that this fellow was a bit ungrateful, and stood up, ready to teach it a lesson, but then saw it suddenly scurry back into its dog bed.

"Xiao Yi Ge, what's wrong?"

Sensing Su Yi standing up and Yuanbao's scurrying motion, Chu Wan asked.

Su Yi was amused and annoyed by this fellow, and said,

"It's nothing, I just think we need to get a big tabby cat for our home."

"A big tabby cat?"

Chu Wan was startled, and said with a laugh,

"Yuanbao would be miserable then; it's most afraid of cats."

"Is that so?"

Su Yi smiled, already having a way to deal with this dog in mind.

"Alright, dinner's ready."

While Su Yi was thinking about how to deal with the dog, Mother Su's voice came.

Then, the aroma gradually wafted from the dining room into the living room.

Smelling the food, the family gathered around the dining table.

Su Yi glanced at the entire cityscape of Modu under the sunset glow outside the window, and then looked at the warm smiles on the faces of his mother, father, and Chu Wan beside him.

For a moment, his heart was filled with happiness, feeling that everything before him... was actually the life he wanted.

Of course, for him, all of this was just the beginning, not the end.

Because for a peaceful and joyful life to last, it would require more money and status to support it.

Moreover, having been reborn and having the advantage of ten years of foreknowledge...

His desires and ideals went far beyond this!
