(A/N: I will be posting 500 power stones chapter over the weekend, this way the weekend doesn't feel dry)
"Why do you care so much?" Chall asked Marcus. She wondered why he cared so much, trying to persuade her.
"You can call me modern-day Cao Cao. I am collecting as much talent as I can. One of my wives is one of the greatest pilots ever to grace my Earth. In fact, her reaction speed is so good that she can cut a bullet with a sword." Marcus bragged about Kallen for a bit.
"I see… so you like collecting assets." The white-haired woman replied, not really knowing what to say about the fact that he has several wives at once.
"Indeed, and I want to recruit you as well. In fact, I could treat your staff decently, depending on your actions."
"...from persuasion to threats, you are a full palette of surprises." Chall wasn't even surprised by this point.
"..." The Emperor shrugged at her, waiting for a proper answer.
"I suppose I can't persuade you not to kidnap people or strip mine the planet?" She asked with a hopeful tone, already thinking of joining him; the only issue was what he would do to her homeworld.
"You can, I am a very flexible individual. I can unite the world and let this world be led by one of the children, born and raised in this world; we could have a cooperative relationship."
This solution sounded much better than the other one!
"I suppose the one who ends up with your child would be the Princess of Azadistan."
"Oh? The news spread quickly."
"Indeed, one of the Union soldiers bragged that the Commander of Over Flags was able to charm the Princess," Chall replied. She had a pensive look as she considered joining him if this was the case.
"What of the main Celestial Being group?"
"Depends on luck, I do want to capture them." He replied, looking far more annoyed the moment she mentioned Ptolemaios crew.
"I see. Then I am considering joining you." She slowly nodded, agreeing to join his Empire, as crazy as it sounds.
"As long as you don't strip mine the planet and rule with an iron fist. I hope that your child with Princess Marina could take over at some point."
"It was never my intention to stay in this reality for prolonged periods of time. Ruling an Empire separated by dimensional gates is not the easiest thing." Marcus shrugged, as he never intended to stay. Conquer, yes, but not rule; he can leave that to his kids.
"I see, you played me." For a second, she was annoyed.
"It's not my fault that you were raised to believe that Conquerors and Empires are evil. The greatest technological advancements come from Empires that ruled the world for many years." Marcus chuckled when he saw a sour look on her face.
He shook his head before brushing his right hand index finger down and summoning a hologram.
"Give me a strand of your hair. Let's see what we are dealing with."
It took her a second to realise his intentions.
"You think you can heal my scars? The GN reactor caused them. Any cellular recovery was not possible." She replied while pulling a strand of her hair.
"My Empire has researched extensively into regrow technology for the past 7 years since its creation.
Especially, when I can access Precurson human technology." He said while scanning her hair with a reader.
Before long, he saw her DNA.
"You need DNA treatment; cellular treatment is pointless when the GN reactor damaged you at the foundational level.
"Legion, I need you to tap into Veda's processing power and solve the areas I highlighted according to our data banks."
[As you wish, Your Majesty.]
Several more windows appeared around him as the AI began to calculate.
"...This is… Artificial Intelligence?"
"Indeed, a proper self-aware one. It took a while, but I was able to make one after making multiple data centres around the world.
With Veda's extra computing power, we will solve your scars."
After several minutes, he got a further request.
"Come, we need some tissue samples." He got up from his seat and motioned for her to follow him.
Chall waited a second but, in the end, decided to follow him. She already gave up on herself, but could they help her?
In the end, with a resigned sigh, she followed after him. They left the living-room-like place and went into the corridor. She noticed that, while this looks like a research facility, the whole place had a noble style vibe from the walls to the ceiling to the flooring.
Instead of the minimalistic approach she used in the Celestial Being, here it was all about the looks.
The nobility, monarchy, and Imperialism radiated from this place.
The strangest thing was that all the people felt a sense of 'purpose'... she expected a sense of oppression since this was a conquering Empire, but there was none of it.
It's as they believe in what he is doing.'
After a bit of walking, they arrived in a medical wing. The whole place was familiar to Chall; it would seem hospital places look familiar regardless of reality, but there was considerably more machinery that she didn't understand.
'Why is there an airport luggage scanner in a hospital wing?'
"Your Majesty!" A girl in her twenties rushed over; she looked excited to see Marcus.
"Take some of her skin samples, her good ones and from the scarred side as well." The Emperor instructed the bubbly girl as he walked over to the large screens and started doing some work himself.
"Yes! Leave it to me!" The girl scrambled to the medical tools section as she took some of them with me.
"Please take a seat, it might sting a little." The girl got a bit serious.
The Fereshte leader slowly nodded, curious about people from another reality. She wants a perspective from a regular person, not just the Emperor's.
"...Umm… so are you from the other side of the portal?" Chall asked as she offered her hand, the young doctor girl went for her fingers…
"Oh, me? Yes, I am originally from Europia. I worked with Anna, who became Empress of Science. When the Empire formed, I went to Academy City in Lagrange 3 to work on new healing methods, but that was until I learned about the portal in the South Pole. I signed up straight away, a new reality to explore sounded fun."
'Sounds normal enough, but does she know…' It sounded normal for the Celestial Being's Operative.
"But do you know that your Emperor wants to conquer this new world?" She asked, sounding like she was revealing a big secret, but the girl looked at her with amusement.
"Of course, I know, and everyone here supports him 110%. After all, it's our Destiny to rule all the cosmos, to put humanity on every single world in the Milky Way and beyond.
His Majesty asked us to join him when he rebelled against his Father, the Emperor of the Holy Britannian Empire. He was honest in his declaration, and he is keeping his promise, and now we are living in a Golden Age."
What Chall was hearing was wild, especially when it came from such a bubbly-looking girl, and she said it with such a straight face.
"...Even if it leads to conflicts in which people die?"
"People die all the time. It's the nature of life. It's part of the cycle that peace cannot exist without war.
We, as humanity, might stop fighting each other, but we know we will have to fight extraterrestrials one day because it's the nature of biological life.
A living being needs to consume another life to continue to exist.
Oh… sorry… I think I derailed a bit here." Midway through, the girl realised that she was talking too much. But she has lost Chall at some point. The idealist in Chall realised that these guys already have their deep perspective on things, and they believe in Marcus and his Empire.
In other words, trying to bring some of them to her way of thinking is practically a stupid thing to do.
"It's fine, Chall still thinks that I lied my way to become the Emperor of my world. Truth to be said, I never said a lie, only half-truths." He said with a shrug.
"No one asked me if I was Emperor of Earth. If they asked that I could, I would say: maybe, after all, I am Emperor of my Earth, not this.
Hell, I never lied to my men in Union either. Even in my documents, I made in this world, I selected the state I was born in, my version of Earth. I never thought that I would call myself Coloradian, Britannian sounds better.'' Marcus chuckled as he realised that Pendragon was in Colorado.
Which is strange.
"..."
"It's hard to accept when you strong-handedly took over Veda and dismantled my Fereshte."
"Hah, if you want to speak that way, then I am far too nice, you are a terrorist, and I am in Union Military, by all means, I should apprehend you for being an enemy of the government."
"..."
"Ma'am, his Majesty never lost an argument before. You should not try the impossible; there is a reason why he leads humanity." The bubbly doctor was shocked to see this woman try to argue.
"It's okay, Hilda, finish your sample collection before we move to fix her."
"Understood!"
~~~~~~Later~~~~~~
It took a while, but Marcus developed a method to rebuild Chall's scarred body; halfway through, he also developed a method to reverse necrosis.
That is why he loves science, as he ends up developing something extra and improving several things along the way.
"You know, there are more people you brought over from that Fereshte; there is that blonde man who wants to speak with you. His laughter is annoying." Suzaku walked over. He realised that he was spending too much time on this woman.
"Yeah, I will check him out, but solving the issue of GN particle poisoning was an interesting hurdle I wanted to pass."
"You do realise that you're part of the Union as well? It has been days, your wives are constantly telling us to make sure you don't get carried away."
"Graham is in the hospital, Billy is rebuilding wrecked Over Flags, and I am on an official classified mission for the government. I have covered my bases before I moved here, Suzaku." Marcus rolled his eyes at him.
"Good to know…"
"Yes, and the government has been under my thumb for over a year. So I don't even need to attend the meetings between those 3 power blocs."
"All I need to do is bring over the GN-X and 30 Tau Drives and the 3 Gundam Thrones." The Emperor explained to him the end scheme of world unification.
"Who is going to pilot those Gundams anyway?" Suzaku was curious because the performance would ultimately depend on the pilot.
"Graham, the super soldier girl and most likely the Wild Bear of Russia. They are the best soldiers in active duty with the highest performance index." The Emperor explained to him, as he needed to ponder on the pilots for a bit.
"I have seen how well Graham Aker fights. He would make a worthy G-Force pilot." Suzaku was impressed by Graham's performance so far. He was able to save himself from a deadly attack twice in a row.
"I am planning to bring him over. It will depend on his state when he wakes up."
~~~
As Marcus was saying that in the West Coast of Union, a certain blonde man finally woke up. His first reaction to being conscious was anger towards Gundams.
"Lieutenant Aker, you are awake!" The nurse looked surprised as she exclaimed in shock.
The blonde man removed the breathing mask as the first thing he asked was.
"...Where is Commander? I-I want to speak with him."
"I will notify the command, but at the moment, he is on a classified mission."
"Figures… after that whooping… he is most likely developing something to fight… those Gundams!!!" Graham's expression morphed into fury as he recalled how his teammates were cut in half right before his eyes!
