Around 12 hours later, Marcus finally descended to his new workshop. Just two days ago, it was a hollowed-out cavern… now.
It was the technological power of his Empire in action!
He was followed by two females who wanted to repay the Emperor for his hospitality, finally, and, honestly, to satisfy their curiosity and see the Imperial technological prowess in person, as technology was their hobby and their job.
"That's… impressive… this was built in less than two days," Christina commented as she looked around. This was an empty cavern not long ago.
Now… it was a fully loaded hangar. From the looks of it, the Gundams are placed a bit lower, as their lowered bridges suggest they are 18 metres, which could lead them to the mobile suit's torso.
"Yes, well, Legion has years of experience working on Earth and Space. Each time the data is collected, analysed and improved upon, making it even more efficient." Marcus explained that as he stepped into his workshop, he didn't even need to design this.
All he asked was the same type of workshop he had in Constantinople.
His Gundams will form a semicircle around his core workshop. There are lifts that can move his mobile suits if he has more of them.
"Aren't you afraid that a self-aware AI can go rogue?" Christina asked him, recalling some of the Horror movies she had seen.
"Not me. You should be worried, though…" Marcus smirked a bit.
"...Umm…why?"
"Core protocols that make my AI are around. Core reasoning that makes Legion, Legion is serving its creator.
Just like any organic life, Legion went through a growth cycle to improve its logic and morals. However, in the end of the day it serves one Master."
"...Huh… is that so… I do want to see its systems…"
"You would be quite dissapointed from a programmer's point of view." He smiled a bit. His smile was a strange one.
"...Hmm… why?"
"Because it's a self-aware system, it doesn't react normally to simple coding," Marcus explained.
[I periodically self-update according to the requirements needed. Only my Creator is allowed to see my internal files.]
The AI said, making the girls a bit spooked.
"What is with that reaction? You have been interacting with Veda, who is more or less self-aware; in fact, it could be even more dangerous if it concluded that to unite humanity, the best course of action was to exterminate them." The Emperor rolled his eyes at them.
"..."
"..."
The pair stared at him in terror.
"At least my AI will protect me." He smirked at them for a bit.
"...B-But… still… what if…"
"That is why, instead of basing everything on efficiency, it is not the solution. That is why Legion is Legion. It's made of many AIs that delegate operations. The Legion here is not the same as the one in the Holy Byzantine Empire.
They are all part of a huge AI network with specific missions. Self-containment that doesn't allow one AI to get above another."
"Oh… that is genius!" Christina exclaimed with wide eyes. Feldt nodded at him as well. Now this revelation caused them to relax considerably!
"I know." Marcus nodded as he motioned for them to move forward, deeper into the workshop.
"Since you two want to help, I will share some data with you."
Simply by mentioning that holograms appeared around him. He flicked his fingers and sent it towards them.
Hologram windows surrounded them.
"This is data on two Gundams that I want to make into one. At the same time, new technology will be developed to boost this new machine's performance." The Emperor explained to the pair as he watched them check it over.
"Oh… Gundam 1? Never heard of this machine, it was not in the databanks of Ptolemaios…" Christina commented as she looked at Feldt.
"Same, I have never seen it before." The pinkette frowned, confused by the existence of this machine.
"Innovade use. The mobile suit was developed around five years ago by Veda. The initial interventions the Quantum Computer decided were to be done by Innovades.
But eventually Veda shelved that idea and focused on human intervention. This is what I said just a moment ago. The Quantum Computer could have chosen a different alternative." He chuckled. His AI has checks and balances. Imposed by another Legion AI whose sole goal is that. It maintains a balance among its other AIs.
"...I see…"
The girls nodded; they were a bit spooked. Thankfully, Celestial Being is done and dusted.
They continued to read over, stopping at something groundbreaking.
"Twin Drive system? Two GN drives at once? This is new. How did you even come up with this?" Feldt asked him.
"I didn't. It was Aeolia Schenberg's plan. He put a theory in place, and we are going to see if it's possible."
"...I see… this is interesting."
"Indeed, so get to it, girls. Let's see what you can do with it."
With that said, Marcus walked to the edge and looked at his two Gundams standing next to each other.
'I should tell my girls to bring their gundams here just to make my workshop look cooler.' The Emperor smirked as he recalled Constantinople's workshop.
He now has a collection section built as an extension. At first, he had just a few Knightmares from the war, so there was no need. But now he has a bunch of Gundams from this timeline. He needs to install GN drives into them to finalise the collection.
Sadly, he won't have the 4th generation as Celestial Being ceased to exist.
After pondering, he activated the Assembly Hands that emerged from the walls and the ground and began disassembling the mobile suits.
As this was happening, Marcus found a spot to sit as he summoned holograms and began tinkering with GN drives and the platform the two drives would run on.
'The key piece is that the dispersal ratio needs to balance it out. Setsuna used TRANS-AM and his Neural link to force the two drives to balance out.
However, it was not perfect as they needed 0 Raiser to finish the job.
I won't be adding a plane to the back of my Tiranis.'
That is why he spent several hours designing a 'balancer' platform and ordered its construction.
After that, he went to make THE weapon.
While he sounded easy in his mind, he had never done anything like this. A weapon that shoots Quantum Brainwaves charged with Geass Energy? Yeah, never done that before.
First, he needed to enter several passwords to access Gundam Throne Ecne data.
From there, he copied the Geass energy engine, a platform that converts power into geass energy.
He needed to transform it into a 'rifle' shape.
'Hmm, this is not hard, making the engine emit energy into magnetic sakuradite rails and blast it out.
But there has to be a part where it's charged with quantum brainwaves.'
Marcus pondered for a bit. Geass energy is, by the looks of it. Only works on humans.
Since the source of the power is the Collective Unconsciousness. But this is where Quantum Brainwaves come to play. Human mind power transcends its boundaries and reaches its next step in evolution.
For now, Marcus summoned the data he had on Quantum Brainwaves. The only thing he has is Veda and its Bio terminals Innovades.
He lacks technology in this field.
'Hah… So I need to become an Innovator or create Innovades that could assist me in this.'
The Emperor leaned back as he pondered where to proceed.
*Sigh*
"No need to rush, I guess."
For now, with a flick of his finger, he saved the files for the prototype weapon for ELS and went to check on the progress of taking apart the two Gundams.
Now that his Tiranis is out of commission, he will need to use his spaceships to travel around for a while.
~~~~~~Later~~~~~~
A couple of days have passed, and Marcus got the GN balancer in place. Two Legion Bots inserted the cone-shaped engines into the slots, and with a loud click, the two drives were locked in place.
"Oh, so that's how you are going to do it."
"Indeed. This is like tyre alignment used on cars back in the day." The Emperor smiled a bit as he recalled classic cars.
"...back in the day? You don't have cars?" Christina gawked as she realised he had mentioned his world, not hers.
"Oh, right, never mentioned before, right? My Earth doesn't have conventional cars anymore; we use flying cars.
While they can't cross oceans on a single charge, we are working towards a method that combines planes and cars into one thing." Marcus recalled, midway through one of his projects, the idea of blurring the lines between cars and planes.
No more commercial flights, you just use a single car, and you can take it around the world.
The issue is speed and battery; levitation is quite a glutton for energy, as the power has to come from somewhere to keep something like a car aloft.
"...Yeah… floating cars aside, this is quite a genius method to balance the particle dispersion." The brown-haired girl nodded as they watched rings rotate in the cone engine and begin to disperse the particles.
Marcus smirked as this was where he would begin his ascention to the realms of Innovators.
After several failed tests, it was time to call it a day, as they had been tinkering for most of the day.
The Emperor still needed to play his role in the government.
While the three blocks were united, there were a bunch of countries that were not part of his rule; almost all of Africa opposed him, as did the Middle Eastern Countries.
Well, among them is Azadistan, which is neutral in all of this.
The Emperor could easily use his overwhelming military power to conquer them. But this time around, he decided to conquer differently
If this were a CIV gaming session, he had already conquered once in domination; now it was time for a different set of victory conditions, economic and cultural.
Thankfully, he has Anaheim that can help him push through technological advancements at a rapid pace.
He made sure he kept a bunch of loopholes in his deals with the United Nations.
That is why he can swiftly improve his Empire while ignoring countless regulations. New Federal laws take precedence over the laws of individual nations. Simple as that.
One of the first things that he made sure to pass were laws regulating food, medicine, and medical treatments.
This is where individual companies tried to complain and delay these changes as their profits would suffer, but Marcus already had things in place; all that was left was theatrics for the masses of the world to see on live television how Marcus Anaheim, after gaining world peace, stepped into politics to 'fight poverty' and 'evil corporations'.
As someone who fought all types of governments in his world, he showed them why Imperialism is the best when the leader is competent and doesn't back down from baseless criticism.
Some of the opposition complained that he was with the military and that he should stay; in response, he deployed his peacekeeping force there and used the soldiers to build roads and water channels.
In other words, the longer they tried to resist someone and bog down in some bureaucracy, the less regular people loved government in the first place; instead, they loved this singular person who is there to help them with their livelihoods.
In other words, he was building a cult of personality that would become a dynasty.
And there was nothing these politicians or corporations could do as the world was changing before their very eyes.
The old system was falling apart, and the new one is rising in its ashes.
By this point, people had forgotten about Celestial Being or their Gundams, as Marcus Anaheim was a constant face on the news around the world.
The Emperor used the terrorists to propel himself to the top of the world.
