It was the 14th year of the Byzantine Cosmic Era. The Federation and Empire, behind the scenes, spent seven years preparing for the arrival of ELS.
"What do the deep space probes show?" Kaiti Mannequin asked, looking at the map. There were some pictures just past Uranus, something was moving towards the interior of their Solar System.
"A metallic planet… the size is no smaller than our Moon. It's flying towards us at increasing speeds.
In other words, it's getting faster." Her Second-in-Command said in a worried tone.
"Just like Custodian said." Kati sighed as she massaged her eyebrows. It's becoming dangerous; thankfully, he prepared them by pulling the entire race by the hair to prepare against these things…
"Contact Kujo. Tell her deep space fleet to get into position." The Brigadier General instructed.
"Understood."

Close to the Saturn, there was a group of warships, their mobile suits, and a few Gundams. It was the Advanced Fleet of Elite fighters, along with a few special assets that will soon join them.
"Ma'am! We just received a message from the Brigadier General's fleet. They want us to prepare for the incoming Brain Burst." The Communications Officer said the moment she got the message.
"So it's time. Where is our esteemed Leader?" Leesa Kujo asked back.
"Custodian's private fleet is arriving in around an hour. He notified that he has special assets with him."
"Of course he does…" The woman whispered under her breath.
'He is bringing his G-Force and scientists.'
The woman sighed as she began to instruct her fleet to wait for the signal.
The signal is quite simple and hard not to notice.
"With increasing speed, it should pass Saturn in a matter of days. By then, we should regroup with Custodian Anaheim." Leesa said to her troops.
"Yes, Ma'am."
Just as she predicted, a couple of days later, a massive red beam flew past them. It was so massive that it 'dyed' the space around. It was a scheduled shoot because of the sheer distances between planets.
"Holy shit… my head… we are not even the destination of it!" Some of the crewmates hold their heads.
"Yeah…imagine being the target of that."
"You won't even notice that you are dead. It's as simple as that." The Captain said, looking at the darkness return, as a red star glowed in the distance for a second before disappearing.
"Launch Mobile suits. We are going to scout out." Leesa swiftly issued orders, and Mobile suits led by Gundams launched.
"Launching MS!"
GN-XII and led by Gundams, one by one, were launched from the underbelly of the warships.
Inside the green Gundam, Lockon smiled as he felt like it was good old times.
"It brings good old times Allelujah. It has been ages since we did anything worthwhile." The sniper contacted his fellow Gundam Meister.
"Lockon, kind of not the time for chit-chat."
"Oh, please, you got a new Gundam inspired by Kyrios, and I got my Dynames Mark 3, just like old times."
The pair of Gundam Meisters did some small chat as their machines did a couple of spins. It was quite a scene with Saturn in the background.
"Approaching the place where impact should have been!"
"The radar is picking up movement!"
At that moment, a swarm of grey metal appeared on the horizon.
"Permission to engage," Lockon asked the Commander on the Bridge.
"Switch to brain burst ammo before engaging," Leesa instructed the pilots.
"Roger."
The Gundams and regular mass-production models began shooting green and red beams at the blobs of metal moving towards them.
The Mobile suits began to rain beams rather than blow up or melt away; the blobs simply stopped moving.
"It appears it is working!"
"Don't get carried away! The first blast only disabled a decent portion of them. There is more from where it came from!" The Commander reminded them that just because they can burst their minds, it doesn't mean they are going to win.
"Yeah, I know."
Lockon replied as bits from his Gundam came off, then pointed at one and fired. The beam began to bounce around the bits like a ping-pong ball, disabling the living metal.
The plane Gundam had its bits fall off as it merged with a rifle to create a huge cannon, then fired a green-and-red beam.
Then there was another Gundam piloted by the Super Soldier's girlfriend, who was another Super Soldier. Only hers released a huge cloud of particles before igniting like gunpowder, creating a red explosion.
"It hurts my head just by looking at this." She commented as she flew away.
"I know. The Gundams were modified to protect us to some extent." Allelujah Haptism replied as the plane gundam weaved around, then transformed mid-flight, pulled out a rifle, and fired in rapid succession, then floated next to her machine.
"When does Emperor join? His fleet joined us, no?"
"They are doing last-minute changes to their machines according to data they got from acquiring several bits of the living metal," Lockon replied.
"Guys!"
Alarms began to blare through the cockpits as radars picked up a huge cloud of living metal.
"They discarded the disabled ones and went on the offensive." The girl concluded that after seeing the 'planet' shattering.
"Looks like it. Be careful, Marie." With that said, Allelujah flew forward and then activated trans-am, releasing a huge beam towards the clouds.
The damage was considerable, but the amount of metal there was simply staggering.
Soon enough, the 2nd round began, and the living metal entered a 'frenzied' state.
"Commander, if this continues, they are going to overrun us!"
But at that moment, warships opened fire, and more mobile suits began to join. The main force has launched.
"About damn time!"
Like a blur, two red glowing close-range Gundams rushed past the front line and right into the swarm.
"Show me what you can do, kid! Have you improved over the years?"
'That voice… wait, is that…' Lockon looked at the swarm as a huge light erupted, red and green intertwined, forming a sword of particles. The mech began to cut down the living metal.
"Don't get carried away, Graham Aker!"
"Damn! Setsuna, is that you!?" Lockon knew who it was!
"Lockon Stratos, we can talk later." Another light erupted in the swarm as another mobile suit created a sword from particles and began to slice and dice.
"...I think it's a competition for them and not a fight for survival." Allelujah noticed that little fact.
"I don't mind! We shouldn't fall behind." Lockon issued commands to his troops and fellow Gundam pilots.
"Yes, sir!"
The offence resumed, but for each disabled blob of metal, two more would take place.
Eventually, the trans-am used by two close-range gundams ended, and they pulled back…barely as the blobs almost overrun them.
"Well, our Gundams are out of particles." Graham retreated behind the front line for a bit as we waited for the GN Drive to regenerate the empty tanks.
"It would seem we are losing." The blonde commented casually.
"Far from it. Where is your faith?" Jeremiah exclaimed as the rest of the G-Force followed him into the battle.
What followed next was… carnage…
Aegis' particle cannon, Strike with artillery package, Buster 'unloading' missiles, beams, plasma shotguns, Duel using Trans-Am massive particle swords.
Of course, there were Gundams; in fact, most of the Gundams and Gundam Thrones were there.
In the end, the relentless assault stalled the living metal.
After several minutes of fighting, all the mobile suits received a notification of another incoming Brain Burst wave in a few minutes.
That means they stalled long enough to keep these ELS in check.
"Everyone retreat! The cannon is about to shoot!"
With that said, the mobile suits swiftly retreated towards the warships.
The metals followed after them.
But a massive red and green blast right through the bulk of the remaining metals.
'H-Holy shit, that was close… and it came from millions of miles away…' Suzaku took a deep breath as he watched the red light. Honestly, his temples twitched just from watching.
He felt like his mind would erupt like a balloon.
'Damn, he created a monster of a weapon.'
After the second shoot, most of the ELS became debris as they began to float.
'We intercepted them around Saturn because it would join the rings. And we can harvest them like any other asteroid.'
Saturday is a quite distant planet, and this specific Earth doesn't have decent FTL tech yet. So Marcus can harvest as many of these metals as possible before he needs to retreat to his world.
Of course, he will leave some for his son's empire.
"Finish the stranglers! Let's end this!!!" Jeremiah loudly exclaimed he charged forward with his red machine.
"Let go!"
"Charge!"
A small army of Gundams charged forward, followed by mass-produced models.
~~~
"I was ready to join them. But oh well." Marcus, who was on the bridge of this Earth's flagship vessel, looked with crossed arms.
"But it would seem that I won't need to do a thing." The Custodian said with a smile as he watched the last remaining ELS get neutralised.
"It's a good thing. It looks dangerous." Kallen commented with crossed arms.
"Oh, please. You were itching to join." Marcus said with an eye roll.
"Maybe, maybe not. These things were not that interesting to fight." The Empress shrugged, not really liking the opponent. It doesn't suit her close-range Gundam at all.
Her machine uses beam claws. It would be a death trap against living metal that merges and assimilates. Her mech compatibility was ever worse than that of those sword-wielding Gundams!
So yes, she stayed at the back and looked jealous at the first-ever alien invasion she had seen in her life! It was horrible to be on the sidelines like this!
"I guess it is. But don't worry, we will have our chance in our very long lives." Marcus walked behind his beautiful wife and hugged her.
"That doesn't sound that good. You know that I am not that good with patience." She leaned into him while complaining.
"Maybe, but you've been learning patience~" The Emperor whispered to her as he looked at what was happening before him. The gundams were doing flybies while looking for any remaining ELS.
"Hmph, of course I did. There was no other way." She pouted at him.
"If you say so~" He teased a bit before looking at the Captain of the ship.
"The operation was successful. Give the order for my Gundams to return, leave the rest for the regulars and tell the Euclides class ships to begin collecting the materials." Marcus didn't waste time; he ordered the collection of the metal.
The more he collects, the better. Soon, he should be able to synthesise these organic metals and begin mass production.
"Understood, relaying orders."
With that said, Marcus pulled his wife as they left the bridge.
There was a huge smile on his face. He finally did it! He got ELS! And now he can focus on his reality. His son with Marina is seven years old, so he will start training him to take over the Earth from him.
Well, there are about 10 years until he can hand over the world. But that's besides the point. There is no more alien threat in this reality.
Hell, he even used Thought Accelerator in Peru to 'scan' the galaxy for any threats.
It was far different from his Galaxy. So he is certain that his son and his children afterwards won't have any issues spreading humanity as widely as possible.
With that in mind, he can relax for a bit. And start focusing on his next mission: creating a perfect biological army.
'I suppose I can pull back a bit in this reality and focus on my other project.'
As he thought about it, his warship returned to Earth, and he brought back several samples of the ELS.
He can now start playing with them a bit until his other portal becomes operational.
"Ugh… you can play with your metals later, for now, we should celebrate," Kallen complained as she saw her husband about to sneak away into his workshop the moment he was back from one of the most important achievements in his damn life! Stopping an Alien invasion!
All he wants to do is get back into his workshop!?
"...Fine… jeez…" Marcus complained as he decided to make some barbecue instead.
