Seeing this,Xinyi's legs gave out beneath him and he dropped to the floor.
'I am going to die today... Are these two ghosts going to share me?'
He closed his eyes waiting for his death.
But he didn't feel anything,
No pain.
No suffocating pressure.
Slowly, he opened one of his eyes.
The lady in white stood a few steps away, staring at him .
He turned back but realized the shadow was gone.
When he turned to where the lady in was standing, she was also gone
" ...Did she just save me?"he muttered,still scared "Guess she isn't a bad ghost."Xinyi said.
Xinyi lean on the wall since his leg was weak and he couldn't walk. He just sat there.
That's how Zeren found him. On the floor with back leaning on the wall.
" You good?"
" No, I am not. Gosh, I can't believe I nearly died today!"Xinyi said.
Zeren shook his head and stood in front of him.
" Can you walk?"
" I don't think so"Xinyi said.
"Mn" Zeren said and carried Xinyi Bridal style.
" Zeren!"Xinyi shouted. "What are you doing?!" he continued.
" Sheesh. People are Zeren said. and I am carrying you in case you can't see."
" Put me down!"
"You can't walk"
" Zeren!"Xinyi's warning was ignored. Zeren carried him all the way back to his room. And laid him on the couch.
" What happened?"Zeren asked.
"How did you find me?"
" You were taking too long. I saw you from the window when you entered the building. So I came to find you. I saw a lady on the sixth floor staircase. I followed her and that's how I found you."Zeren said. Xinyi narrowed his eyes at Zeren.
"You know, you are the only one to willingly follow a ghost"Xinyi said.
" I know"Zeren said and Xinyi huffed.
" What happened?"
" I nearly died!"
"You are alive Xinyi"
"Barely!!"
"Stop being dramatic"
" I am not! I was scared to death! I mean half death!"Xinyi said.
Zeren rolled his eyes at Xinyi "You are being dramatic" he said.
Xinyi huffed and remembered something and took the picture from his bag,showing it to Zeren.
" I saw this on my desk today"Xinyi said. Zeren took the picture and looked at it closely.
" Did you see who placed it there?"Zeren asked.
"No"Xinyi responded." But what is the meaning of this tho? First it was the group picture and now this."he continued.
Zeren shrugged and asked, " What happened to you when you entered the building?"
" I was attacked! By a shadow!"Xinyi said.
" Where did you see the shadow?"Zeren asked.
" In the second floor corridor"Xinyi said, and continued," I was scared shitless and out of no where the lady in white appeared. I thought I was done for today. But instead she saved me! I will have to show my appreciation when I see her."Xinyi said.
" Mn. True, she saved you. But she isn't good herself. What if she saved you so she can be the one to finish you off when the time comes."Zeren said and continued. " After all, aren't you her boyfriend now? She might just kill you so you both can have your happily ever after."Zeren said earning a glare from Xinyi.
" I am going to bed."Xinyi said and left for the bedroom.
The next day,Xinyi left work early.
Nothing happened.
No shadow...
No lady in white.
But when Xinyi got to the third floor stairs, he felt dizzy.
He closed his eyes and tried to lean on the wall, which ended up with him on the floor.
He opened his eyes and realized there was no wall and he was at an unfamiliar place.
'Another memory lane?' Xinyi mentally asked himself. He looked around and realized he was inside a stranger's house.
' Whose house is this?' he asked himself.
Finding a mirror, he decided to see whose body he was inside this time.But he realized after looking in the mirror that he wasn't inside anyone's body today.
" What's going on?"He asked himself, but he didn't have the answer to that question.
While he was busy looking at himself, the door to the bedroom opened. Xinyi flinched and turned to see who it was. It was familiar face, a lady...the lady in white, in flesh and blood. Not a ghost.
He started to panic, ready to explain himself but the lady didn't even notice him and confirm that, she walked right through him.
Xinyi stood there confused.
'Did she just walk through me?' He asked himself. He stood there thinking about this odd phenomena and came to the conclusion that he was the ghost in this world.
He saw the lady take her bag and left the house. He followed closed behind her. He could see from her interaction with her neighbors that she was a friendly lady. On her way, she bought two packs of foods from a restaurant across the street.
'Where exactly is she going?'Xinyi asked.
They soon arrived at an apartment building with seven floors.
The lady in white entered the second floor and stopped at Room 203. She didn't knock but took out a spare key to open the door.
'Whose apartment is this?' Xinyi asked himself.
The door was opened and the lady walked in. She placed her bag and the food on the counter in the kitchen and headed to the bedroom.
When she opened the door, she froze seeing the scene in front of her.
It was a couple engaged in a passionate make out that they didn't hear the door opening.
Xinyi was confused wondering.
'Who are they?'
The lady in white entered the room, hearing the footsteps, the couple who were engaged in a passionate make out pulled away and Xinyi finally recognized one of them.
The lady was the one in the picture with the lady in white.
" Chen Guang Long....Care to explain what I just saw between you and Jiang Ruoxi?"The lady in white's voice was cold.Too calm.
" oh come on, Rong YIng. It's nothing" The man named Chen Guang Long said.
" It's nothing? Really?! You are here making out with my best friend and you say it is nothing?!"Rong Ying Said but none of them looked ashamed.
Instead Chen Guang Long scoffed.
" What did you expect me to do huh? I am a man, Rong Ying! You refused to sleep with me so I had to find a way to satisfy myself and your best friend volunteered."Chen Guang Long said.
"I volunteered"Jiang Ruoxi said winking at Rong Ying without shame.
Xinyi felt sick.
" I am disappointed in both of you"Rong Yong said.
But neither of them cared.
"If you have in this wouldn't have happened"Chen Guang Long said.
Rong Ying ignored both of them,took her bag and headed out.
She remembered something. She came back and took the takeouts she bought and left, with Xinyi trailing behind her.
" Now I feel like a stalker"he said .
The next day, Rong Ying packed her things and left the house. Xinyi followed her.

Yuehua Apartments.
'What the fuck is she doing her?'Xinyi asked.
He followed her all the way to the third floor, Room 303.
She knocked on the door
It was opened by a man whose face Xinyi couldn't see clearly.
His face was blurred.
Like the memory didn't want him to see the face.
Xinyi frowned.
'Why can't I see his face?'
Rong Ying spoke then.
Calm....Certain.
"Dr. Xu Haiyu, I have thought of your offer and decided to take part in this experiment."
