Severus Snape snapped back to attention and looked at Albus Dumbledore in surprise.
Dumbledore lowered his head, the overhead light casting his face into shadow.
His expression was hidden, and his eyes could not be seen, only his voice reached Snape clearly.
Perhaps there are seven, and Lord Voldemort's Horcruxes may number seven.
He once said that seven is a very magical number, and he has always been fond of it.
The more Dumbledore spoke, the more convinced he became that seven was a strong possibility.
He glanced at Snape, who still looked surprised, and continued.
Severus, we may have to spend quite some time searching for these Horcruxes.
Are you certain, Dumbledore?
Snape's surprise faded, replaced by doubt.
You are basing this only on that memory, and people change, so is it really possible that because he liked the number seven as a child, he created seven Horcruxes?
Moonlight streamed in through the window, illuminating both of them.
Normally, Snape would not speak so much, but now, for his own sake and that uncertain future, he needed clarity.
Do not worry, Severus.
Dumbledore seemed to see through his thoughts and briefly looked at him before turning his gaze away.
Lord Voldemort may not have created that many Horcruxes, and at present we do not even know what objects they are.
However, I do have some guesses, and the items he used must hold great meaning to him or carry deep significance from his past.
Both possibilities are likely, and I have some ideas, but this is not the right time yet, as I still need to complete certain matters before I begin searching for them.
Dumbledore slipped his wand back into his sleeve, but his eyes remained fixed on the moon outside.
The full moon seemed to draw his attention as strongly as the Horcruxes themselves.
It was almost as if he did not wish to look directly at Snape.
Seeing this, Snape frowned.
Is there anything more important right now than finding those Horcruxes?
He was confused.
By Dumbledore's usual nature, he should have been eager to eliminate the threat as soon as possible.
So why delay?
Was there something more important than the Horcruxes?
Could it be related to the one imprisoned in Nurmengard?
Or did it have something to do with the [Live Broadcast Q&A System] and its growing influence over the wizarding world?
Snape could not understand.
Yet he did not press too hard and simply asked out of curiosity.
Dumbledore suddenly turned to look at him.
His eyes were bright and sharp, filled with an indescribable energy.
I seem to have found something.
He paused briefly, as if uncertain.
Dumbledore fell silent, and just as Snape was growing impatient, he continued.
I have found a path, no, I have discovered a path.
What path?
Snape frowned, his expression turning colder.
He disliked vague answers.
While he himself often spoke in riddles, being on the receiving end was irritating.
To him, riddle-makers were no better than tricksters.
Both stirred curiosity but refused to give answers.
It was equally frustrating.
A completely new path, a path that can take us beyond our current limits.
As Dumbledore spoke, his eyes seemed to glow, forcing Snape to instinctively look away.
Snape quickly thought over his words.
Then something clicked.
He turned back sharply, staring at Dumbledore in shock.
This was not an ordinary statement.
Given Dumbledore's nature, such words could only point to something extraordinary.
Snape immediately recalled the reward Dumbledore had received from the [Live Broadcast Q&A System].
Combined with his unusual behavior, everything began to make sense.
Is it true?
Snape spoke with difficulty, his voice hoarse.
Dumbledore simply smiled and said nothing, which only made Snape more frustrated.
For a moment, he almost lost his temper.
Of course it is true, Severus.
But I am not yet certain if it will succeed, and I will only know in a few days whether this path can truly be followed.
Even as he said this, Dumbledore was already confident.
Unless something unexpected happened, he would become a pioneer.
A pioneer who had grasped a new method of advancement for wizards.
A faint light flickered in his eyes.
He could already imagine the expression on Lord Voldemort's face when he returned and discovered that Dumbledore had surpassed him.
The thought replaced his earlier anxiety with a sense of satisfaction.
Looking at the still shocked Snape, Dumbledore paused.
A new era was about to begin.
It had already started the moment the [Live Broadcast Q&A System] appeared and introduced new magical knowledge.
Although there were concerns, Dumbledore could not yet determine where this system would lead.
For now, there was only one reassurance.
The system had only appeared within Hogwarts.
Most of those who received rewards were students and professors of Hogwarts.
Except for Tom.
At the thought of that name, the light in Dumbledore's eyes flickered.
Snape remained silent.
He had many questions, but he also understood that Dumbledore himself did not yet fully grasp this new path.
Only by walking it would he understand what lay beyond.
No matter what, after discovering what existed beyond a wizard, Dumbledore would not keep it from him.
