Goku dashed to Koren's tower where he fetched himself a pouch of Sensu beans. He made his way up to the looked and brought Dende and Mr. Popo up to date on Earths current situation. The blinking digits like a ticking time bomb in the air, reminded Goku that time is of the essence. Standing right there on the lookouts platform, Son Goku focus his ki, in search of the nearest familiar energy and used instant transmission. The world blinked. One moment—Kami's Lookout, the scent of clouds and stillness. The next—Antarctica.
Biting cold slammed into Goku like a freight train, snow whipping across his face as he landed knee-deep in ice. Before him—Krillin lay unconscious, half-buried in snow, lips blue with frostbite.
Goku: Krillin! *Goku exclaimed worriedly.* Krillin... Can you hear me buddy? *Goku called out in a frenzy.*
Krillin: *Krillin was shivering badly, teeth chattering as he tried to answer.* G-G-Goku? W-what... h-happened? *He managed, eyes flickering open.*
Goku picked his little shivering buddy up, and teleported towards a warmer climate. They reappeared somewhere in the jungles of Brazil, the humid air of the rainforest a stark contrast to antarctica's bitter cold. Krillin's teeth stopped chattering, but he still clung to Goku for warmth.
Goku: Better?
Krillin: *Krillin nodded, feeling some color return to his face.* Y-Yeah, a bit. *He managed a shaky smile.* Thanks. I was freezing my butt off there.
Goku gave Krillin a flash of his famous smile. Almost instantly growing more serious, he informed Krillin about every that happened after he was teleported into that freezer. Instinctively pointing out the ticking timer.
Krillin: *Krillin's eyes widened in horror, staring at the floating hourglass, then back at Goku.* One WEEK? *He clenched his fists.* That's... I mean, we can do it, right?!
Goku: We have no other choice, we have to do it for Earth's sake... *Goku said in a determined tone.* For everyone's sake.
Krillin: *Krillin nodded, determination flaring in his eyes.* You're damn right. We're gonna find everyone—hell, I'll find them myself before I let them die!
Goku nods in agreement. He closed his eyes and pushed his ki outwards, searching for the nearest familiar energy. The world blinked again. When it came into focus, the first thing that hit Krillin was the oppressive heat. Sand stretched away in every direction, the air thin and dry—the sun burning mercilessly down on them from a cloudless sky.
Krillin: *Pressing a hand over his eyes, Krillin squinted around.* Where are we this time?
Goku: *Goku shook his head, beads of sweat already beading on his forehead.* In some long forgotten desert.
Krillin: *Krillin groaned, feeling the heat already getting to him.* Great. First Antarctica, now the desert. Next thing we know, we'll end up in space or something.
Goku: Yamcha is somewhere around there.
Krillin: *Krillin perked up at that.* Yamcha's here? Good. Let's go find him, and get this done with quickly.
Goku nodded, already setting off across the desert. The sun was a harsh master, its heat leaching every drop of moisture from their bodies, but they pressed on, their focus never wavering.
Goku: *Finally, the familiar ki signature flickered across Goku's senses. Nearly within reach.* There! *he called out, veering off towards a distant sand dune.*
Yamcha was beyond happy to see Goku and Krillin, so happy in fact that the big bad ex bandit stated crying.
Krillin: *Krillin gave him a sympathetic pat on the back.* Hey, buddy. It's alright. We're here now.
Goku: *Goku nodded, a reassuring smile on his face.* We're gonna get this sorted out, don't you worry.
Yamcha: *Yamcha wiped his tears, hiccuping slightly as he spoke.* I-I know, it's just... this situation is so messed up... One moment we were pushed down by a godlike force of energy and being ordered around by a white haired Goten, and the next I'm finding myself here, in the middle of nowhere, all alone. Tell me that isn't messed up?
Goku and Krillin exchanged a grim look, both knowing all too well how messed up this whole thing was.
Krillin: *Krillin patted Yamcha comfortingly on the shoulder.* Believe you me, we know how crazy this all is. But we're gonna fix it, I promise.
Yamcha: How long have I been trapped in this heat, because if I didn't know better, I'd say that I'm delusional, *Yamcha asked pointing at the timer in the sky.*
Goku: *Goku glanced at the timer, its digits burning coldly in the air.* Five days, twenty-one hours, left, *he said,* but it feels longer than that, doesn't it?
Yamcha: *Yamcha exhaled sharply, rubbing his temples.* Delirious... yeah. I thought I was hallucinating when I saw a watch floating in thin air telling me Earth has six days left.
Krillin: *Krillin nodded sympathetically.* Yeah, it's a bit of a shock. But trust me, it's real.
Goku: *Goku looked around the vast desert, then back at his two companions.* We don't have time to waste. We need to find the others—fast.
It's been five days, and even though Goku had found most of the team, Vegeta and Piccolo are still out of bounds. Goku looked up at the still-ticking timer, the seconds slipping away with every passing second.
Goku: Time's running short, *he said gravely.* We need to find Vegeta and Piccolo ASAP.
Gohan: But how? If they're on a different side of the world, we would have found them by now. *He said, but a thought popped into Gohan's mind...* Unless... *Gohan's voice trailed off as his eyes widened.* ...unless they're not on Earth at all.
Goku: *Goku's eyes flicked to him, instantly catching on to what he was thinking.* You're right...
Krillin: *Krillin's eyebrows furrowed.* Wait... you're not saying they're off-planet, are you?
