"We need support! We can't hold back these Kaili people at all!" The Commander of the Yamri people on the ground pleaded to his Captain, Cassius.
Hearing the call for support from the ground, Cassius had no more reinforcements to send to the people below.
"No, hold on, Commander. All our personnel and support have already been deployed. I will seek aid from other nearby colonies to help you," Cassius, having no reserves, could only seek help from elsewhere.
"Then make it quick! Our territory is being reduced by them, and there's even an elite force directly attacking our heartland, which is the foundation of our roots!" The Commander shouted to Cassius.
"I will," Cassius promised, then began contacting other colonies.
Cassius sent signals to other colonies, and they all claimed they would help and dispatch personnel, but time was running out. The Yamri people on the ground could only hold out for a few more months at most.
And the deployment of personnel from the colonies would take a considerable amount of time, so Cassius had no choice but to communicate with His Majesty, asking them to expedite their invasion and requesting more weapons and equipment.
"Your Majesty, I believe our invasion is currently very difficult, even being pushed back. Therefore, I request more weapons and equipment, and to conduct more trades with the Trade Federation, such as Vulture Droidss or other types of droids," Cassius explained the current situation.
His Majesty the Conqueror listened to Cassius and pondered for a moment. "What you say makes a lot of sense. Coincidentally, there's a batch of weapons and equipment on the homeworld right now, which the Trade Federation purchased a few days ago. It includes many Vulture Droidss. I think you will need them greatly." His Majesty the Conqueror had long anticipated that this invasion would not be simple, as the Kaili people were far more aggressive than those on other planets.
"With this equipment from Your Majesty, I believe we can quickly take over the entire Kalee. Thank you, Great Your Majesty!"
"Let's talk about it when you've taken it over."
After the communication ended, more Vulture Droidss took off from nearby colonies heading to Kalee to help the ground forces advance, and more ships arrived on Kalee's surface. More Yamri people were sent to attack.
Meanwhile, the battlefield was still raging with mutual attacks, but Obi-Wan and his Great Master had retreated to Kaili City. After all, they were only there to mediate and could only engage in self-defense.
"The war can no longer be stopped. Even if the Republic mediates, it will be useless," Qui-Gon looked at the forest in the distance, where artillery fire blazed.
"So, we can only watch them continue like this?" Obi-Wan asked.
"That's right, now we can only watch. People no longer care about right or wrong; there is only complete defeat and absolute victory until one side is completely annihilated." Councilman Kote was utterly helpless. Now, the two sides could not stop; the war had to continue.
"I need to report this to the Republic first. It's no longer something the three of us can stop," Great Master Qui-Gon told the two to stay safe here for now.
"Understood, Great Master," Obi-Wan replied.
When Qui-Gon went to report the matter, only Councilman Kote and Obi-Wan remained.
"What do you think we can still do?" Obi-Wan asked.
"It depends on what you want to do," Councilman Kote replied.
"Let's still help the Kaili people distribute food. Fighting is not our responsibility right now," Obi-Wan struggled internally for a moment before choosing to help the people.
"A wise choice. Perhaps you'll even become some kind of deity one day." Councilman Kote heard Obi-Wan say this, and the two went into Kaili City to distribute food to the people.
Meanwhile, Qui-Gon returned to the ship to report the matter to Chancellor Valorum.
"Two days ago, Obi-Wan sent me news of the negotiations and the cause of the incident, but now they're fighting again?" Chancellor Valorum hadn't expected things to change so quickly.
Qui-Gon explained in detail what had happened between them.
"So, the Republic cannot intervene at all right now. What does Councilman Kote think?" Chancellor Valorum inquired about Councilman Kote's opinion, as he was the one who suggested mediation and also the one who wanted to intervene.
"Councilman Kote doesn't want to deal with these matters. He is currently engaged in humanitarian aid," Qui-Gon answered regarding Councilman Kote's actions.
"Then let it be for now. I will appeal in the Council to sanction the actions of the Yamri people and punish them, but this still requires a vote from the Council members, so you will need to stay here for a few more days." Chancellor Valorum was also quite helpless, as the Council was not a one-man show but required votes from Council members across the entire Galaxy.
Several months later
On the battlefield, even with air superiority, the Yamri people could not suppress the offensive of hundreds of thousands of Kaili people. As one tribe after another was liberated, the liberated people immediately joined the large army, and the Kaili people distributed all captured supplies and counterattacked the Yamri people.
However, the war was nearing its end. The elite Kaili people's attack on the Yamri people was completely devastating. The Yamri people could not stop the elite Kaili people from attacking their command center on Kalee. To defend the command center, fifty thousand Yam'ri troops were deployed, but under the fierce assault of the elite Kaili people, nearly ten thousand lives were lost before the command center was breached.
But on the main battlefield, the withdrawal of fifty thousand troops was not a small number for the Yamri people at all. It created an even larger gap that the Kaili people exploited, encircling them like dumplings and devouring them.
"Indeed, my strategy was absolutely correct. Concentrating all forces for the attack, combined with my command, will definitely lead to victory!" Hilar watched the Yamri people retreating in disarray into the jungle. Now the situation was reversed; the Kaili people were the masters of Kalee!
"That's right, let's pursue them while we're victorious. Then they'll be forced out of our homeland." The other Khans beside him were also immersed in the joy of victory.
Councilman Kote and the two others, who had stayed on Kalee for several months, distributed food in the city every day and were revered as deities by the Kaili people. They paid no attention to the specifics of the front-line war, because at the beginning, the Yamri people had already declared failure; they simply could not take Kalee.
"The war is over." Councilman Kote looked at the sky, where no more Vulture Droidss circled, and in the distance, there was no more fierce fighting. The planet was also telling him that the outsiders had failed.
"Finally, this mission can end." Obi-Wan sat beside him, sighing. After all, the three of them had come to Kalee but had not completed their mission, and the Republic Council had never passed sanctions against either side, nor had it even dispatched the Judicial Forces to suppress the conflict.
"But Kalee can finally be at peace." Qui-Gon looked at the happy children running on the road. Two or three months ago, they were malnourished; now they were growing strong.
"It also proves that we didn't do nothing, Obi-Wan. These children are the hope for the future of Kalee; we protected them." Councilman Kote didn't know why Obi-Wan had been somewhat down lately, even worse than his own state, but he couldn't say much. Perhaps young people couldn't accept certain things.
Although his physical age was younger than Obi-Wan's, he was much more mature mentally, even if he still did some things that would make people exasperated.
