Chapter 99 - Chapter Ninety-Nine: Acquiring a New Ship

On Neimoidian at this moment, B1 Battle Droids were being refitted under the supervision of the Judicial Forces, and the battleships were being converted back into their original cargo ship forms, with all weapons and equipment removed.

However, an uninvited guest was discussing the fate of the battleships with Nute Gunray in his office.

"Kote Vizsla! You've gone too far! This is an insult to our Trade Federation! You actually want to take a cargo ship for only 100 million! Do you know the original price was 500 million?!" Nute Gunray was furious. The world seemed to be against him lately; nothing was going his way!

This included, but was not limited to:

Tax exemptions being revoked, failed invasions, failed assassination attempts on Jedi by trained assassin groups, disbanded armies, and so on...

Even now, half of his current predicament was caused by the man in front of him, who had repeatedly targeted and deceived him. Now, he was even trying to buy his current battleships for 100 million credits. How shameless!

Seeing Governor Gunray fall into a rage, Kote still chose to forgive him. After all, he had indeed gone a bit too far. If Governor Gunray hadn't been unable to kill him, he might have already tried.

"Calm down, Governor Gunray. You can haggle, you know. It's not like the price is set in stone. Name your price, and I'll consider it. Otherwise, the Judicial Forces will acquire your fleet at an even lower price." Kote calmly watched the agitated Governor Gunray.

Hearing Kote's words, Governor Gunray sat down, his rationality returning. "Governor Kote is right. After all, the Judicial Forces have already given me a quote, the same as yours, but they want quite a few. Three hundred million per ship, and all the weapons, equipment, and B1 Battle Droids are included at no extra cost. Anyway, you and Amidala took 20 billion in compensation from me; it's all my money." Governor Gunray laid out his conditions. The price offered by the Judicial Forces was too low; he couldn't accept it at all.

"How many more do you have?" Kote asked, referring to the remaining battleships.

"Over two hundred have been refitted. You blew up more than ten at the time. Now there are two hundred and thirteen left. How many do you want?" Governor Gunray was at his wit's end. He was being watched by the Judicial Department and Mandalore, making it difficult to even make small moves. He could only continue to bribe to preserve some battleships.

"Ten ships, 2.8 billion. Accept it, Governor Gunray. For the next five years, Mandalore and its organizations will not conflict with the Trade Federation as long as you don't actively provoke us. You should recuperate now." Kote stated his acceptable price and made a promise to Governor Gunray.

Governor Gunray sat there pondering for a long time, finally accepting the offer. He pressed a button on the table, and a Protocol Droid brought in the completed contract and handed it to Kote.

Kote glanced at it twice; there were no major issues. Even if there were, he had the ability to deal with them.

"Pleasure doing business, Governor Gunray." Kote transferred the money and stood up, walking outside. Someone, dressed in the blue uniform of the Judicial Forces, bumped into Kote's chest.

"Are you blind!" the person loudly questioned.

Kote was puzzled. How did such an idiot become an officer in the Judicial Forces? He looked down at the person's rank, Captain. He wondered whose child this was, sent here for corruption.

"Perhaps you're the one who's blind?" Kote retorted. After all, he had never encountered such a fool in the Galaxy.

The person looked up and saw Kote's face, immediately realizing he had made a mistake. This guy was very famous in the Outer Rim, and his power was far greater than that of his small Family.

"I apologize, Duke Kote, I was blind and didn't see you!" The person immediately stood at attention and said to Kote.

"Sigh, someone like you truly only survives because of the Family behind you. Learn your lesson." Kote waved his hand, instantly clouding the person's mind and causing him to faint.

The officer instantly fell to the ground. The Protocol Droid pulled him into a room to rest, while Kote, accompanied by the Protocol Droid, went to inspect his battleships.

The battleships, docked in other spaceports, were awaiting the arrival of their new owner.

Kote had long planned for the purpose of these battleships: they would serve as a training school for future Clones, and daily training could also be conducted on them. With this in mind, he could make specialized modifications upon returning to the Zanbar System, where B1 Battle Droid pilots were already waiting for orders.

"All units proceed to the Zanbar System, and delete this record." Kote stood on the bridge, commanding the B1 Battle Droids below him.

"Understood, understood. Investigating star charts, preparing for hyperspace." After leaving the planet, the Lucrehulk-class battleship plunged into hyperspace.

Kote stood on the bridge, observing the hyperspace environment. Even after multiple hyperspace jumps, Kote still found this technology truly magnificent.

Suddenly, his holocommunicator rang.

The person who appeared on the comms was Jango Fett, whom Kote hadn't seen in years since their last encounter at his coming-of-age ceremony.

"Long time no see, Duke Kote. I have a business proposition. Are you interested?" Jango Fett asked.

"Business?" Kote was confused. At this time, Jango Fett should be working on the Clone project. Could it be that he hadn't started this project?

"That's right. A future army needs guidance, but my team isn't very proficient in army guidance, so I'd like to collaborate with you to achieve this goal." Jango Fett expressed his intention to cooperate in training the Clone army.

"An army? Then you've come to the right person. I'll personally bring people to begin training." Kote thought this was excellent news.

"Come to this coordinate when you're ready. I'll bring people to meet you." Jango Fett gave a star map location and a flight path, then ended the communication.

Kote looked closely. This wasn't Kamino's location. This should be a place near the Gamorr System, possibly a space station, and not too far from Kamino.

Subsequently, Kote selected a group of warriors who were absolutely devoted to Mandalorianism to instill and spread their ideology among all Clones from a young age. After the Clone Wars, he could effortlessly incorporate them into Mandalore.

On Vadir, the current capital world of the Outer Rim Protectorate Alliance, Vadir had become a rising star in the Outer Rim. Military facilities were currently being dismantled and would all be transported to the Zanbar System later, ensuring that people on Vadir would not see any related structures.

Meanwhile, Satine of Mandalore was troubled in the palace. Her Younger Male Cousin's militarization process had gone further and further, completely contrary to her intentions. Yet, they couldn't be without weapons; the shadows of the previous civil war were still fresh in her mind. Now, there was also a new system requesting Kote to supervise as Governor.

"Kote, the Kyber System is now also under your charge, but I need to know about your current militarization process and your vision for the future. When you return to Mandalore, let's have a good talk about it."

Kote looked at the message from his Cousin and instantly felt that this issue seemed to be getting more and more serious. Ever since he became one of Mandalore's rulers, the people had returned to their former fanaticism.

It seemed he and his Cousin absolutely had to have a good talk about this issue. The Kyber System would develop naturally. One Zanbar System was enough to supply the current fleet. Based on his understanding, the Kyber System mostly consisted of colonies. He could only mine minerals and cultivate crops on some planets; these were the most important supplies.

As long as there was food and minerals, the army would grow wildly like grass.
