After Kote had made these arrangements, he returned to Vadir, summoned several diplomats from other planets, and then went back to his room.
Lying on his bed, Kote was still contemplating what to do next when Omen knocked and entered.
"What is it?" Kote asked.
"Boss, according to the message from Death Watch, they felt something unusual during a patrol in the Plung System—a sensation of something influencing their will, as if something related to The Force exists in that system. I thought you might be interested," Omen said, looking at the datapad.
"Plung System? First, designate the Plung System as a dangerous area and prevent anyone from going there." Kote immediately sat up, his interest piqued, as he was feeling a bit down at the moment.
The next morning, Kote went to the Temple, where Great Master Qui-Gon was practicing with his lightsaber. The other two were still in school and could only train when they had no classes.
"Good morning, Great Master!" Kote greeted.
"You're certainly early. You don't usually come this early. Have you discovered something?" Qui-Gon's keen insight immediately guessed Kote's purpose.
Kote smiled and recounted what Omen had told him yesterday.
"Hmm, if it's not some gas or hallucinogen, it's very likely The Force influencing them, but we can't be sure yet," Qui-Gon mused.
"Exactly, Great Master, I thought the same thing. That's why I wanted to go there together to investigate and see if it might be something related to the Sith," Kote also thought.
"Then bring the two children. It's time for them to formally carry out a mission related to The Force," Qui-Gon suggested bringing Zeta and Nehaal, who were currently in class.
"Then let's meet at the spaceport." After saying that, Kote began sending messages to the two.
The two, who were dozing in class, heard their communicators buzz. They saw only one message:
"Meet at Spaceport Two."
The two instantly looked up, exchanged a smile, quietly opened the window next to their seats, and silently jumped out. By the time the teacher looked at their seats, they had already vanished.
The two rode their speeder bikes towards the spaceport.
Upon arrival, Qui-Gon stood there in his hooded robe, while Kote had already prepared everything for departure.
"Get on board," Qui-Gon said, leading the two onto the ship.
Before Kote could say anything, Zeta leaned over and asked, "Where are we going, body? And Great Master Qui-Gon? Didn't you say Great Master Qui-Gon couldn't show his face?"
"To a fun place. You'll know when we get there," Kote pressed him into his seat, telling him to behave.
The group made a final check, found no issues, and sat in their respective seats, ready to depart. As the kuat-class transport ship left the skies above Vadir, Kote began preparing Mandalore's army and fleet, which were currently under construction.
In the Commander's office at the Mandalore Police Department, Leon called in his adjutant.
"What is it, Commander? Any orders?" the adjutant asked.
"Orders have come from above to prepare for expansion and begin semi-military training. Something big is likely to happen, but everyone must remember to stand with Governor Kote," Leon whispered to his adjutant.
"To what extent should we expand? A police force of over a thousand per planet? But if we do that, our salaries will have a huge deficit, and the government will quickly discover this little maneuver. We need a reasonable reason to expand the police force," the adjutant considered the current situation.
Currently, there are over a thousand police officers in each city on Mandalore, totaling twenty thousand. The other colonies have a combined total of twenty thousand, and there are also forces stationed on some planets that have agreed to Mandalore's presence, bringing the total to eighty thousand. However, Kote's idea is to have at least two hundred thousand police officers, capable of being converted into an army at any time.
"Currently, there are 83,283,000 people in the Mandalorian Sector. We need to at least double that to meet Governor Kote's wishes. We need an enemy, an enemy we can fight against, so we must increase our personnel," Leon quickly thought of a solution.
"Who would that enemy be?" the adjutant couldn't think of anyone, as the current sector was too safe; even some inner-rim planets weren't as secure and peaceful as Mandalore now.
"We can support a fictional criminal organization to carry out attacks in unimportant places on Mandalore and some small planets," Leon proposed a plan he thought was good. Only attacks on the main planet would make people feel a sense of crisis.
"Perhaps we should discuss it with Governor Kote first. What if there's a better way? After all, this is like stealing from ourselves," the adjutant was somewhat worried.
"Go ahead and do it. I'll take responsibility, but remember, do not harm civilians. Just make people feel fear. I will then propose to the Duchess to increase personnel, and I believe she will agree," Leon instructed his adjutant to proceed.
"Understood, Commander. I will select the most loyal and excellent warriors from the police force for this mission. For Mandalore."
"For Mandalore."
As the adjutant began selecting, an organization dubbed an 'extremist group' appeared throughout the Mandalorian Sector.
Meanwhile, in Mandalore's shipyards, a group of top ship designers were secretly designing new warships and accompanying new starfighters.
"Factory Director, are you listing these as the most advanced cruiser designs in the entire Galaxy?" asked one of the gathered designers.
"Yes, each will be designed as Mandalore's future top-tier and the Galaxy's top-tier cruiser. But the cost should not exceed seventy-five million, with the final mass production cost around seventy million. Achieve the best at that price," Al-Saxon replied.
"Let's use our previous top-tier cruiser design. Its price and shape were considered cutting-edge then. The dagger-shaped Mandalore cruiser was considered a groundbreaking design in its time, proving the wisdom of our predecessors. By simply modifying that foundation, it will become the most advanced cruiser in the current Galaxy," another designer immediately recalled a previous Mandalore cruiser design.
"Proceed with that design. The sooner, the better. I think something truly is about to happen, and Mandalore will need this fleet," Al-Saxon said seriously to the designers seated around him.
"Within three months, we will deliver the blueprints to the Factory Director. Once approved, we can begin quiet construction," the designer vowed confidently.
"I trust you all. For Mandalore."
"For Mandalore."
Subsequently, these designers immediately began working on new ship designs, and at the same time, they dedicated time to designing new starfighters. Although no one knew who this mysterious buyer was, in Mandalore, only one man consistently did this and possessed the corresponding funds: the man who never gave up on arming Mandalore, Kote Vizsla.
