It took more than an hour to get the girls ready for bed.
Two little girls together in the bathtub meant giggles and chaos and constant reminders that they shouldn't spend too much time in the water. Eating cakes after dinner also meant they were too high on sugar to fall asleep easily. Arthur and Eugene had to act out two fairy tales before they even remotely felt sleepy, and the other waiting adults were finally able to give them goodbye kisses.
Hannah had never had that many good night kisses before, and she fell asleep with a face full of smiles, hugging her bunny doll tightly.
It seemed like households with children were all the same: they went to bed the moment the children fell asleep. By the time Arthur closed Samantha's bedroom door carefully, the house was already quiet. Everyone was in their own bedroom, and most of the lights had been turned off.
It was kind of weird, but Eugene could finally see Arthur's childhood bedroom after spending a whole day at the house.
