Eugene had to shake his head to free himself from the whiplash. He looked at these people, who seemed to grow up in a golden bassinet, and asked curiously.
"Do you guys usually decide to buy a property that easily?"
Ashley almost laughed out loud. "I'm going to tell you now, Gene--we're still in a different tax bracket from Allen's family."
Eugene could only arch his brow. So even the wealthy had gaps?
"It's not that impulsive," Sophie shrugged. "We're already thinking about buying real estate for Toby--I mean, he'll need his own place once he's an adult."
How much further was that moment, though? The boy was barely a semester into the first grade.
"Allen will be devastated," Ashley chuckled at the notion of the McClaire's little angel leaving his glittering paradise.
"That's why we're looking for something still in the region," Sophie snapped her fingers. "Might as well have it near someone we know, right?"
