When the omega said that, Arthur could only stare at the man silently. As those trembling fingers were busy wiping the tears off his cheeks, Arthur was battling with a new sensation inside his body.
A sweet, sweet scent wasn't only tickling his nose and wrapping around his body. It scratched his skin, crawled along his veins, and filled his lungs like a new kind of air he wouldn't be able to live without. It tightened around his heart like a chain, if chains were made of fluttering petals and the ringing of heavenly bells.
The scent, coming at him like the touch of a yearning lover, also lived deep within him. It was tickling him inside out, as if urging him with an itch of an unfulfilled task.
With unsteady hands, Arthur touched the most precious creation the universe had sent to him. The pale cheek, like an unfinished painting, bloomed red under his fingers. This view, like looking at the greatest work of art, made the alpha cautious.
