Eugene smiled. He had already expected this, to be honest, knowing his daughter. "What's wrong, Hana?" he caressed her auburn hair. "You don't want to go if it's not with us?"
The girl hugged him and nodded against his shoulder. She acted as if she would never return home and be separated from her family forever, even though the cruise wouldn't even last a week.
"But you will be with Toby, with Auntie and Uncle. Didn't you say you want to go on a cruise like us?" Eugene tilted his head. "If you're waiting for me, we can only go next year...probably even longer, until the babies are a bit older."
"That's right, sweetie. Don't you want to celebrate Toby's birthday?" Sophie chimed in, laying her hand on Eugene's knee and looking up at Hannah with her big, bright eyes. "Toby will be all alone if you don't come."
