It was a grounding, purely instinctual sound meant to chase the shadows from her mind.
"You are safe," Torian murmured, his hot breath brushing against her collarbone. "You are in our Manor. The gates are locked, and I am holding you. Nothing from your dreams can reach you here, my Queen."
Roxy closed her eyes, letting his blistering body heat seep through the thin silk of her sleep gown. She took a slow, deep breath, inhaling the sharp, comforting scent of pine and feral musk that always clung to him.
