Death owls - chapter 54
The battlefield between dimensions trembled.
Arthur, Oblivion, and Marmon stood locked in a silent stare. Power pressed against power, bending the fractured reality around them.
Oblivion looked toward Marmon first.
"That one is mine," he said calmly, pointing at Arthur. "Find someone your size."
Marmon crossed his arms.
"The closest thing to my size here is Arthur."
Before either of them could move-
The sky split open.
Golden light rained down.
Elysium descended.
Behind her came heroes of ancient stories, warriors whose legends had survived centuries. Their armor shone with divine brilliance.
She drew an arrow and aimed directly at Marmon.
"I'll take that challenge."
Arthur smiled slightly.
"Elysium. Good timing."
He spun his weapon in a wide arc.
Blinding light exploded across the battlefield.
When the glow faded, massive barriers of holy priority surrounded Marmon, burning his darkness like acid.
"Ugh," Marmon hissed.
He shoved Oblivion forward.
"Fine. He's yours."
Then he turned toward Elysium.
Their fight vanished into another corner of the battlefield as the heroes followed her.
Leaving only two figures standing.
Arthur.
Oblivion.
The clash began instantly.
Arthur's blade flashed first.
A clean slash across Oblivion's chest.
Then a kick to his side that sent the Harbinger of Death skidding across the ground.
Oblivion stopped.
He looked down.
Golden ichor ran from the wound.
He stared at it in disbelief.
"...Blood?"
His voice sounded almost confused.
"Why do I feel... mortal?"
Arthur lowered his blade.
"Because you are."
Oblivion narrowed his eyes.
"Explain."
Arthur smirked slightly.
"You and Kronos weren't paying attention."
Earlier - Olympus
Abyss stood beside Kytrhone.
"I want a fair war," Abyss said calmly.
Kytrhone tilted his head.
"You're serious?"
"No immortality."
Kytrhone laughed.
"That's going to upset a lot of gods."
"Good."
Kytrhone raised his hand.
Reality bent.
A rule was removed.
For the duration of the war-
No one was immortal.
Back in the battlefield.
Oblivion slowly began to smile.
"So... we can die."
His sword appeared in his hand.
"Good."
He swung once.
The entire dimension split.
Arthur met the attack instantly, their weapons colliding with enough force to send shockwaves through nearby battlefields.
Even distant soldiers felt it.
A beam of pure death shot from Oblivion's hand.
Arthur countered immediately with a beam of radiant creation.
The two powers collided in the sky.
Death tried to erase.
Creation tried to rebuild.
For a moment they were perfectly balanced.
Then Arthur's light diverged a second beam.
Instead of pushing directly forward, the Light of Creation regenerated itself from the midway, bypassing the death beam.
The blast struck Oblivion directly.
He was thrown backward through his own cities.
Buildings shattered.
The civilizations of the dead crumbled around him.
Oblivion landed heavily.
For the first time, he looked around at his own world.
The people.
The cities.
The strange societies that had grown in death.
He had always believed death was simply the end.
Yet now...
Watching it crumble...
He felt something unexpected.
He didn't want it to disappear.
"No..." he muttered.
"Just... one more moment before it all come to an end."
His body changed.
Dark wings erupted from his back.
His form grew taller, more divine, resembling the ancient god Thanatos himself.
A blade of pure end replaced his normal weapon.
The world inverted.
Colors reversed.
Heaven became dark.
Death became light.
Arthur watched calmly.
Then his own form changed.
The Harbinger of Creation revealed his true shape.
Radiant wings of living light spread across the sky his wings seems like half formed Lights taking forms what of his armors disappear revealing his body showing many marks across his body the halo on his head was explosive jagged looking halo the light from his body was unevenly spreading as he formed.
The ground beneath them collapsed into a twisted fusion of heaven and death.
The Dimensional Clash wasn't built for this level of power.
Reality cracked.
Below them-
Entire battlefields shook.
Arama, the Holy Knight, fought through a swarm of death shades.
A creature suddenly stepped forward.
A twisted abomination called Lakok, the Death Misfit.
"One... fought the knight," it hissed.
Arama frowned.
"What?"
He struck the creature.
The body split apart.
That was the trap.
From the torn flesh, dozens of specters emerged.
Each showing him the deaths of people he loved.
His family.
His friends.
His comrades.
For a moment-
His holy light flickered.
Then Arama roared.
Light exploded from him, obliterating most of the creatures.
He looked upward at Arthur.
"ARTHUR!"
"Use the power of Aether!"
Arthur answered calmly.
"I don't need to."
"I already won."
At that exact moment-
Oblivion slammed him downward.
Arthur crashed into the ground where angels quickly caught him.
Oblivion stood above, breathing heavily.
The death creatures retreated, urging him to follow them.
But Oblivion shook his head.
"We're weakened," he muttered.
"And I hate that guy for being too strong."
Pov to hell
The Gluttony Estate burned.
Half the sky above it shimmered with the aetheric brilliance of the Sky Kingdom, floating cities and radiant clouds hanging like divine constellations. The other half was a sickly yellow haze-the twisted heavens of Hell's fifth estate.
Between the two skies, lightning and dark flame collided endlessly.
Leo stood in the center of the ruined street, breathing hard.
Beside him, Electrical hummed with charged energy, sparks crawling across his metallic limbs.
Behind them, Jay hid between broken pillars, clutching his weapon nervously.
Across the battlefield stood their enemies.
Mark, Demon Lord of Gluttony.
And Voren, the Goblin King.
Voren leaned against a cracked throne, groaning in pain from the beating he had taken.
"Why isn't anyone helping us?!" he shouted furiously. "Gluttony Estate is falling!"
Mark didn't even look at him.
"Because every other estate is fighting right now."
For a moment, the war flashed across reality.
Pride Estate.
Lucifer himself clashed with Hyperion in a sky filled with burning halos and collapsing towers. Around them swarmed the Ars Goetia, the fallen doves of heaven, ancient demon nobles battling Olympian generals.
Sloth Estate.
Already fallen.
Two Olympian gods led elite strike forces from the Sky Kingdom through its silent ruins.
Wrath. Greed. Envy.
Every estate was under siege.
Hell was fighting on all fronts.
And the first to fall would likely be the damned realms themselves.
Back in Gluttony-
Leo moved first.
His fist slammed into Mark with brutal force.
The demon lord staggered backward as Leo followed with another strike, then another.
Something was different about him.
Energy radiated from Leo's body.
The power of Daskin, the Lion God, surged through him.
But it was changing.
When Leo had absorbed the overflowing demonic gluttony energy leaking from Voren's estate...
His strength had grown.
Mark noticed immediately.
"You're feeding on the estate's corruption," the demon lord said coldly.
"Bad idea."
Mark slammed his hand into the ground.
A massive circle of black flame erupted around him.
The fire roared upward, forming a burning ring.
Anything inside that circle-
Would burn to ash unless it carried demonic blood.
Leo skidded to a halt.
The flames twisted like serpents.
Jay shouted from behind.
"Leo! Don't go in!"
Leo ignored him.
Instead, he lowered his stance.
Like a bull preparing to charge.
Behind him, energy formed the shape of a massive lion's head.
The spirit of Daskin roared silently.
Leo charged.
"Take that, idiot."
A new voice echoed across the battlefield.
Dark flames struck Leo from behind.
Instead of burning him-
They fused with the lion aura.
The power twisted.
Changed.
Became demonic.
Leo burst through the flame circle like a meteor.
Mark barely had time to react before Leo's fist slammed into his chest.
The demon lord crashed into the estate walls and fell unconscious.
Leo looked behind him.
Standing there was a familiar figure.
Maron.
The God of Iraclis.
Back from the life dimension.
He crossed his arms calmly.
"You're welcome."
Before anyone could speak-
A messenger from the Sky Legion landed nearby.
"Report!"
He spoke quickly.
"Multiple death realms have fallen. Hell has shifted all forces to defend Pride Estate."
"Lucifer and the strongest demons are holding the line, but it won't last long."
The battlefield fell silent.
Then the ground trembled.
For the entire fight-
Leviathan had not moved.
The colossal Chaos Beast had remained coiled around the tallest towers of Gluttony Estate.
Watching.
Waiting.
But now-
She opened her eyes.
The ancient predator lifted her head slowly.
Then she roared.
The sound was indescribable.
The sky shattered.
Mountains trembled.
Even Daskin's divine presence inside Leo bowed in submission.
"Listen carefully," Daskin said inside Leo's mind.
"Leviathans are apex predators."
"In every world."
"No creature challenges them."
The roar spread across Hell.
Across the battlefields.
Across the dimensions.
Sleeping monsters awakened.
Terror beasts rose from caves.
Demonic armies howled in response.
And far away-
Even Behemoth, another Chaos Beast, stirred in the distance.
All answering the same call.
Leviathan unfurled her enormous wings.
The Queen of Gluttony had entered the war.
And she would lead Hell's counterattack.
Leo looked up at the massive creature.
For the first time since the war began-
Retreat was his best option but he's Leo he want to fight.
"Run," Maron said calmly he seemed to have a plan as he used his bond power on leviathan as they escaped.
And the group fled as Leviathan's shadow consumed the battlefield.
