On the Ninth Inversion, the women had just finished making short work of the Eldritch.
The five — Sylvie, Madison, Rune, Katherine, and Morgana — hovered together above the massive vertical tunnel plunging straight into the Tenth Inversion.
"Hmm, Master did say clear only up to the Ninth Inversion…" Sylvie reminded them, her tone light but firm.
"But…"
Madison smiled, shaking her head. "But we're still going up anyway."
Katherine crossed her arms, crimson silk rippling. "So stubborn… who knows how he'll react if we ignore his direct request?"
Ash had rarely asked anything of them, so when he did, they always tried their best to help.
Yet now, even Katherine couldn't resist the urge to push into the Tenth Inversion. If they reached it and cleared it, that would help him even more.
Rune floated cross-legged. "Tsk, let's be honest. I'm sure he already expects us to push ahead. Besides, our power's grown beyond what he claimed was inside there anyway."
