"Well, I must thank Old Kagami," a voice that was layered many times over, yet somehow sounded so casual it felt oddly out of place, echoed through the darkness while Kaguya's vision remained completely black.
The voice continued, calm and almost playful.
"It's quite rude of him to think he knows me in and out" The voice said, "I'm no monster, you know. More like a handsome saint for beautiful women."
Kaguya tried to speak, but no sound came out.
In this moment, she wasn't even sure she was truly alive. Her body felt weightless, suspended in an endless void, as if she existed somewhere between life and erasure.
The voice chuckled softly.
"And since you're so beautiful… you're already considered one of my wives."
Before she could process the words, the voice grew gentler, almost warm.
"As my wife, you can't be weak..." Then as the voice grew distant it spoke again, "So, I'll give you a small gift as an apology… for slaughtering ninety percent of your clan."
