Her humanoid form began to dissolve.
It didn't shatter or explode — it simply faded, like mist under morning light.
Then her body unraveled into countless motes of golden and white light that scattered and reformed. The throne beneath her remained, but the being sitting upon it was no longer the woman they had known.
