"Hiding out in Antarctica didn't seem like your style!" The ranger yells at me as she walks in front of the spotlight. Antarctica was probably my last guess for were we were. Would Lilith cutting it in half cause problems? Like that global warming thing they dealt with in the past. The turbines and sand make it hand to tell who it is, the ranger force members surrounding me with well aimed guns don't help with that.
"Don't you have to read me my rights or something?" I'm not too intimidated, which is a new feeling. I'm usually at least a tiny bit nervous all the time. But haven't we kind of outgrown these guys?
"We aren't the police Haruo onizuka." Oh, she knows my name?! How?! "And where your going, you won't be needing them. Kaiju follow very different rules." She means the dark zone doesn't she? Maybe…
"I'm a Kaiju child, it's not the same thing." I shuffle to the side a little bit but the barrels on those high powered rifles follow me.
"We saw the footage. If I'd known what you were back then… could I have steered you on a better path?" Her voice is sincere and recognisable even under that helmet.
"Instructor Audrey?!" I'm more surprised than anything else. Last I saw of her I'd bombed her to kingdom come.
"But that's in the past. Fire!" They don't even bother trying to restrain me. Naga circles around me and blocks the bullets. Just her movements create a wind vortex that sends all the soldiers flying into the air. The fall likely would have killed them if it weren't for those suits. I can still see a steady flame in each of them, they're just unconscious. A swing from her spear is narrowly parried by my gloved claw, my bones rattling from the difference in our strength. By the time anyone else would have realised she'd taken a step the second strike comes. A fizzard head emerges from the wand and bites down, catching the spear in its teeth. Her drones fire lasers from behind me but they are absorbed into a human sized toad I made for absorbing energy like that. I have a laser eating toad, that's awesome. The instructor kicks my fizzard in the head to make it let go, then does that glowy thing that makes her go all fast. She zooms around for a second before slicing at my throat, being blocked by Naga at the last moment. In that split second I summon a horde of Kaiju to overwhelm her. Thanks to my new senses I can tell that she's getting frustrated that she can't cut or shoot them as easily as last time. And then her jet flies down and transforms. That azure glow of the metal reminds me of when she took Lilith. Hm.
"Sorry. But this time I'm not gonna let you Randall me. I a hundred times stronger!" Ok maybe I'm getting a little too into this but I've got some steam I need to work off! She broke my jaw! She doesn't respond as she climbs in to the cockpit of the amphibious looking mech. That humming blue tail only adding to its sleek design compared to the other mechs I've faced. It has drones floating around it the size of standard ranger force jets.
"Commencing detainment of enhance Kaiju child." Oh yeah. I'm 'enhanced' now. Well she came expecting a fight from someone like that. And I'll need this power to fix everything.
"If you say so." I stretch my arms out and exhale all the air in my body. I've only done this once, and that was against my will. But the transformation is almost second nature with how easy it is. As I grow bigger and more monstrous I can feel my understanding of everything around me grow as well. The wings, the scales, the tail and flames… all the the traits from last time slip out like they were always there. The instructor mech barley comes up to me chest when I'm done. She doesn't wait for permission, she already attempts to impale me with a spear that's more like a sharp skyscraper. It hits the faint layer of pink fire surrounding me. If it weren't for the rumbling of the land beneath us splitting in two I might have been able to hear the creaking of metal as it shattered. She's shocked for a moment before activating the mechs own speedy thing. Of course it's pretty hard to lose track of things when you can sense souls. At this point it would be like not knowing where my hand is. With a flap of my wings I appear a mile away, right behind her as she charges a laser attack at where I was. With some admittedly amazing reflexes her drones reconfigure to point behind her with losing the charge. The laser flows around my barrier on contact like water on a stone. Without even moving I summon a tower of biomass that floods out from beneath her. The teeth and claws and wings and whatever that thing is that's spewing acid completely tear off the left arm. She gets some help from her allies that have woken up by now. Two smaller mechs made up of various jets try to slice me from behind with those chainsaw swords that I'll admit I still think are awesome. They have some sort of muscle relaxant coating them. Potent stuff to, it'd frankly kill anything whose body wasn't basically a million nuclear reactors. As if I'm trying to set up a theme I break them both by outstretching my wings. The impact shatters both the swords and the mechs themselves, send dozens of pieces flying to the other landmass that's drifting away from the river of magma and glass spikes connecting them. I make sure to boost the pilots so that they don't get any serious injuries. From there think I've taken down all their possible options. So with a wave of my hand a blur tears the remain of the blue machine apart. Really it's just a few boosted Kaiju doing it but from her perspective it wouldn't look that way. I send a massive army of them to work on putting the land back together. I can control biological life but apparently sand is where we draw the line. I won't pretend like I know how they'll do it but I trust them. Anyways time to make a great decision. I transform back into my normal form. I'm pretty sure that form has a hard five minute limit but I didn't really need to worrry about that this time. I make my way through the wreckage until I find what I think is the cockpit. Raven confirms it for me when he rips it open to find the instructor inside, pointing a laser pistol to my head. With a big smile I place my fists in front of me. "I surrender!".
