Chapter 87 - chapter 88: I would always be free

Inside the vast hall, the seven pillars supporting the ceiling all shook as the monstrous creature smiled.

Rou Wou smiled as well.

The smile hid his disgust toward the hideous creature. In the deepest part of his heart, he wanted nothing more than to escape this place, but he could not.

"Greetings, Master…"

Rou Wei bowed and cupped his fists forward with a fake smile — a forced smile that would give anyone the creeps.

The hideous spider-like man turned around and touched the surface of the throne, cleaning some dust away with his finger.

As he turned around, he breathed out softly, letting the dust scatter from his fingertips.

Then he sighed.

"Where is Ghost Yun?"

Rou Wou nodded.

"That stupid old man has secretly come out of seclusion. He has already found a vessel for himself. The debt between Yao Ming and you will surely disappear, Master!"

The large creature smiled as he turned around.

"Oh? Good. Now you can all scram away, my grandsons."

Rou Wou showed a plain expression.

He coughed a couple of times out of embarrassment before speaking again.

"Sorry to disturb you, Master, but your grandson needs another task. All the other tasks have already been completed easily."

The huge spider-man looked down and smiled.

"You are as capable as ever, my grandson. I, the leader of this sect, shall grant you the secret I have hidden as a reward."

Rou Wou sighed, feeling troubled.

He slowly floated forward as the spider placed a hand beside his ear and whispered near him.

Rou Wei was unmoved at first, but suddenly his eyes widened and his pupils shrank to needle size.

He stepped back several times before speaking.

"You are truly sure, Master?"

"Yes. We have killed those two. My grandson, if you liked them, Fate Building would have surpassed the Mortal Rank!"

Rou Wou froze before replying while touching his chin.

"Are you sure we should kill these people? Yao Ming and Ghost Yun are extremely important."

The giant spider did not answer immediately as he stared forward.

"Fate is cruel, and its tapestry can only be cut down by the needle… or sewn by the needle itself."

He spoke with a cold smile.

"Go and contact the Second Supreme Elder of the Empire Continent. Tell him the plan, and do not tell your comrades about this. They are not true Fate Seekers."

"Fate Building is not meant for those who defy fate. It is meant for Fate Seekers like us!"

Rou Wou sighed.

"I first have to kill Ghost Yun and make sure the debt is settled. Oh, poor Ghost Yun…"

He looked at the immortals flying ahead.

"I need to kill Ghost Yun!"

The immortals flew out from beneath the ceiling, following after the skeleton woman. The woman turned her head and saw countless immortals chasing after her.

She growled angrily, releasing a deathly aura that erupted from her body. Several immortals immediately turned pale.

Rou Wou, Shining Sask, and Teinsei Jin chose to stay behind.

Ghost Yun watched colorful fireworks of attacks rush toward the woman.

Boom!

A deafening explosion echoed through the air.

Yet from the smoke, the skeleton woman burst out and flapped her wings before shooting forward like an arrow in an attempt to escape. Pieces of bone debris fell from her body as she flew.

The old man smiled and poured soul-force energy into the air as an artifact manifested before him.

A small black vortex appeared. As the soul-force energy entered it, the vortex twisted unnaturally before suddenly splitting into five parts and shooting forward.

"Ahahahaha! Let us see if your bones can withstand this attack!"

The skeleton woman felt tense as she saw the vortex rushing toward her. She let out a piercing scream that shook the surrounding winds and even scattered the clouds.

The vortexes were pushed aside and torn apart before dissipating into the air.

The old man's face darkened.

"Shitty woman! How dare you… Let us see if you can still survive this!"

One attack followed another. Then another. Then five. Then eight. Then twelve.

The skeleton woman flew forward, dodging every attack, while sweat covered the old man's forehead. Behind him, the immortals could not even keep pace and could only launch attacks from afar.

The fields of grass beneath them were torn apart by massive craters and exploding earth.

Like fluttering leaves swept away by a violent storm.

Even the old man sighed silently.

"This woman is not taking me seriously at all. If that is the case…"

"Then killing her would make this process no fun at all!"

Suddenly, he stopped in the air and waved his sleeve forward, pulling the others toward the woman.

His eyes held no patience — only madness.

"If Mingyin is still alive, it changes nothing. His body can do nothing to me. Instead, I have found my next target!"

Suddenly, he shouted:

"Spirit Hand Moss!"

An artifact instantly appeared. Five small masses of liquid floated in the air, each glowing with calamity-colored light.

The waves shot forward as he smiled.

"This is my strongest move. Foolish of me to use this."

The old man sighed deeply before inhaling through his nostrils.

The liquid soon reached the skeleton woman.

At first, she was confused, but then the liquid seeped through the cracks in her bones — the very cracks created by the immortals' attacks.

Suddenly, vines began to sprout from her skull as she screamed in pain.

The old man's expression twisted with madness.

"This is my strongest move! Take it!"

"ARRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Her entire body shook violently. Her left wrist split apart as her bones cracked and splintered. Black smoke rose from the widening fractures.

Suddenly, the woman began to burn alive.

Bam!

Countless sounds echoed through the air as the immortals finally caught up.

All of them stared in shock at the skeleton woman engulfed in flames.

This shocked them deeply.

"Has he used his strongest attack?"

"Has he gone insane? If he uses his killer artifact, his soul energy instantly drops to twenty percent!"

"And the chance of killing the skeleton woman is still low!"

"How will this even end?"

"I do not know. We can only hope for the best."

Before anyone else could speak—

The old man suddenly shouted:

"SUCCESS!"

The immortals showed shocked expressions.

Then, before the crowd could react, the old man's body shot forward.

The next moment stunned everyone.

He entered the woman's body like a spirit as the red light within her eye sockets dimmed.

"What do you mean he is not human, sir?"

Shining Sask, who had just been helped up by Teinsei, turned toward Rou Mou's gaze.

Rou Mou crossed his arms while staring forward.

"That man is no ordinary person. He is a terrifying schemer. Even I do not wish to face someone like him."

Teinsei, holding his injured left shoulder, nodded silently.

As rou Mou stared at the ceiling, he spoke quietly.

"He is a spirit… and he also has a massive debt to repay."

He looked forward again.

"Do you know who?"

Shining Sask held his chin thoughtfully, but nothing came to mind.

"No… I do not. What is it then?"

Rou Mou smiled.

"He caused the collapse of the Apex Sovereignty Clan. Yao Ming and nether of you guys know except I told you and teinsei Jin know right now ! Only the leader of the Nine Inheritance Tribe knows that."

"And he forgot to bring the Gem of Life."

That same Gem could cancel his debt !

But he sadly fail at the end …..

Shining Sask's eyes widened in shock.

Suddenly, Rou Mou turned around.

To his shock—

Mingyin was gone.

At the heart of a black river flooding through a glass tunnel, Mingyin could be seen swimming across the water's surface in confusion.

Because floating in the air before him was a massive scroll surrounded by countless spheres.

"Sovereign Path…"

He instantly recognized it.

When had it appeared?

When he needed it most—

It stood right before him.

His eyes showed no hesitation as he grabbed it.

Then he muttered softly:

"Is this… the beginning of my freedom?"
