"That wasn't an ordinary meteor shower," Charles's voice drifted out from the darkness behind them. "Even many scientists couldn't explain what it was. Calling it a 'meteor shower' was simply a more convenient way to present it to the public."
Albert turned in surprise.
Eisen and Charles—who had been resting by the hot spring—had somehow come over without anyone noticing.
"We heard you talking about Yun City," Charles said calmly. "So we woke up."
The serum's effects had not fully stabilized. Both of them, reverted to a half-human, half-serpent form, still looked pale. As the medicine slowly took effect, their massive snake bodies shrank to roughly twice the size of a king cobra.
Naturally, any mention of themselves caught their attention.
