Chapter 132 - Chapter 132: Granting Miko Grace

Silence fell over the cooking classroom.

"Even so, you can't just casually give yourself away!"

"Pervert! If I had known, I wouldn't have helped you yesterday!"

Kobachi was furious. What made her angriest was Miko's irresponsibility toward herself, actually saying "I'll do anything."

Aren't you a self-proclaimed ally of justice? The guy in front of you is clearly a villain! How can you offer yourself to curry favor for what you want?

"Ahem... Hey... why are you calling me a pervert right off the bat?"

"I haven't done anything to you. And can you let me finish my sentence? Or else I'm leaving!"

Since the beginning, Kobachi and Miko had been arguing without letting him finish, labeling him—a God—as a great villain. Where was the logic?

"Don't! I... I can do it!"

Hearing that Lin Feng was about to leave, Miko instantly reached out and grabbed the corner of his shirt, speaking timidly.

He had to admit, this head-bowed, shy, and seemingly weak Miko was quite cute. It was exactly his type.

"Miko-chan!!"

Kobachi looked at her friend with a mix of frustration and disappointment. It had only been from yesterday afternoon to this morning—how had Miko changed so much in such a short time? She couldn't believe this was the same person.

"The price I mentioned isn't what you're thinking!"

"I can give you power, but you must offer your faith to me. Only then will I grant you the God's Grace (Falna)."

"After receiving the Grace, you will know how to become stronger."

Lin Feng looked at Miko and Kobachi with black lines on his forehead. I am a righteous God, not some God of Desire or a chaotic evil deity.

"Ehh?!!" "Faith?"

Miko and Kobachi realized they had made a massive misunderstanding—especially Kobachi, who had just called him a pervert and a villain.

Miko felt like she was going to faint from embarrassment. She had actually thought of that kind of thing... and had been willing to do it.Thinking back on it now, it was mortifying enough to die.

"I'm sorry! I am so, so sorry!!!"

It took Osaragi Kobachi ten seconds to process the misunderstanding. When she did, she bowed repeatedly to Lin Feng with such speed and force that her glasses nearly flew off her face.

"I'm very sorry!"

Iino Miko followed suit, bowing and apologizing alongside Kobachi, because she too had let her imagination run wild.

Despite being a "Small Fry" Miko, she seemed surprisingly knowledgeable about that kind of stuff. After all, she was the daughter of a high court judge and frequently read legal books and case files, so she had been exposed to all sorts of "cases."

"But, Student Lin Feng... this 'offering faith' and 'God's Grace'..."

After bowing a dozen times, Miko finally straightened up and looked at Lin Feng with a face full of confusion.

Usually, one offers faith to a God, right? Why was he asking her to offer faith to himself? And this "God's Grace" he was going to grant...

For a moment, the usually sharp Miko couldn't connect the dots.

"Idiot. Student Lin Feng is the God!"

Seeing her best friend turn into a fool at the critical moment, Kobachi couldn't resist lightly bonking Miko on the head.

"Wh-What?!"

Hearing Kobachi's words, Miko ignored the tap on her head. She slowly turned her body, staring at Lin Feng with wide, glazed eyes.

A God... a God is actually right beside me!

If that were true... then Hayasaka-senpai, who was holding hands with him yesterday... did she have some sort of relationship with him?

A senior at school has a God for a boyfriend!

"Lin... No, Lord God! Please grant me your Grace and give me the power of justice!"

"That's no problem, but..."

"I have no problem with anything! I'll do whatever Lord God asks of me from now on!"

Before Lin Feng could finish his sentence about the conditions, Miko interrupted. To enforce justice, she was willing to pay any price. Since she was this determined, he had nothing more to say.

He had originally planned to take a few people from Ai's world to expand his Familia's numbers and basic combat power anyway. Later on, he would need to organize them into teams.

"Then go over to that counter and lie down on your stomach. Don't forget to expose your back."

"Ehh?!"

Hearing Lin Feng's instructions, Miko blushed. She lowered her head, walked over to a clean cooking counter, and began to adjust her clothes.

Kobachi, standing to the side, was making a fuss over nothing. What was so strange about this? Did she think granting a Grace just involved patting someone on the head? That would only be a superficial boost with limited growth potential.

The "God's Grace" (Falna) from DanMachi simply acted as a catalyst to accelerate and manifest growth for the people of the lower world, allowing everyone to see their progress. It had no harmful side effects.

"Lord God, I'm ready!"

Miko's small body lay prone on the cooking counter. Her pale skin contrasted only slightly with the clean, reflective surface.

Having done this many times, Lin Feng was used to it. After all, he had to update statuses almost every day.

A few minutes later, a flash of blue light illuminated the cooking classroom as the divine hieroglyphs were successfully inscribed onto Miko's back.

[Iino Miko: LV1] [Strength: I0] [Endurance: I0] [Dexterity: I0] [Agility: I0] [Magic: I0] [Magic: ( ) ( ) ( )] [Skill: Heart of Justice] Heart of Justice: When activated, Courage UP, Execution UP, Proficiency in all abilities UP. The firmer the user's sense of justice, the stronger the skill's effect.

After Miko rearranged her clothes, she took the paper with her copied status sheet from Lin Feng.

"This... isn't this just like a video game?"

Kobachi leaned in, and upon seeing the status panel on the paper in Miko's hand, couldn't help but comment. Indeed, the presentation was very similar to RPG character stats.

"If you want to increase the proficiency of the five basic abilities listed there, the best method is combat."

"C-Combat?"

Miko jumped at the word. She had assumed that receiving a God's Grace would instantly make her stronger—at least strong enough to take on five people at once. But after the ritual, she didn't feel any sudden increase in physical strength.

And combat... that was too difficult for her!

"Of course. If you don't fight, your five basic stats basically won't change even if we update your status."

"However, that skill of yours... should give you quite a boost."

Hearing this, Miko's eyes drifted down to the skill section. Sure enough, there was a skill called "Heart of Justice," complete with a description.
