"Nyx..."
Visha cut him off. "Let her have some time. You can come back tomorrow."
She saw Nyx grip her clothes and tremble when she said this. She didn't raise any questions just yet. It was obvious to Visha that Nyx was lying. As for why she was lying, they could find out after Jin left.
Seconds passed. Nyx kept her head down. It was only when he saw she wasn't budging that he let out a sigh and walked away.
When he left the room, Visha spoke, "You remember."
It wasn't a question. Nyx nodded.
"So why did you pretend not to know him?"
"Because I can't let him get hurt," she replied, voice hoarse.
She steered Nyx to a seat and sat with her. Uri and Xeno sat in opposite seats. They didn't speak, but they needed to know what Nyx was so afraid of. If whatever it is causes trouble for the tribe, they need to know.
