''Yeah, ya heard me right, the damn spirit only comes out when it thinks no one will see it''. Seiko explains as she heads up the stairs. ''That is...When they're asleep''.
''Asleep!? Wait we're gonna have to fall asleep?". Momo asks.
''Then how will we see it coming?!''. Aira shouts.
Seiko sighs as she stops walking, turning towards them. ''Don't worry your pretty little hair, I've got a plan''. She puts on her sleeping mask as she somehow still manages to point at Momo. ''Momo! Get Aira and Takakura some sleeping mats!''.
''Huh!? Fine''. Momo sighs as she begins walking up. ''Be right back Okarun''.
''Oh, ok. Take your time''. Okarun replies quietly as he walks around and adjusts his glasses.
''Alright I'm ready to kick ass!''. Aira says pumping herself up.
''Sleeping huh?...''. Okarun whispers.
''Yeah, kick ass after sleeping''. Aira says punching the air.
''You know....This is kind of like a sleepover...Like that time when we helped Jiji, maybe this is becoming a regular thing now''. Okarun says with a shy smile.
The second Momo disappears upstairs Aira makes a move. She inches ever closer to Okarun as he tries to keep his distance.
''You're right you know this is kind of like a sleepover. Like the last time when we fought those aliens, you were unconscious so it really killed the mood, it would have been much more fun if you were awake". Aira said seductively as she attempted to use her charms on the very much suspecting Okarun.
"Yeah....That wasn't a fun experience". Okarun sighed as he too was drawn back down memory lane.
"But it's different now, I mean we're here together...". Aira said as she brushed her arm against his.
Okarun moved quickly creating distance once more. "MMhmm....!".
"I mean you know what teenagers do at sleepovers right...? The snuggle and stuff". Aira asked pouting slightly as she closed the distance, poking his arm.
"Yes!s!". Okarun squealed as he shuddered and ran off. "But that won't happen here hahah, we're just friends! R-Right...Miss Shiratori?".
Noticing his withdrawn behaviour Aira had an outburst. "Hey don't run away from me!". She said attempting to corner him.
Okarun strafed left and right continuing to keep his distance. "I'm not!".
"You are!". Aira replied. "What's wrong!? Does me touching you seem like such a horrid experience huh!?".
"No miss Shiratori! But...We're just friends!". Okarun repeated once more.
"That didn't stop Ayase and Jiji!". Aira shouted back.
Okarun was stopped in his tracks as he had a flashback to that night in abandoned underground shelter beneath Nagi Hospital, where he saw Jiji and Momo snuggled together sleeping peacefully.
"Yeah...I guess not". He said disappointedly as he stared down at the ground holding his glasses.
Noticing what she did Aira tried to save the mood. "I mean...We can get them back for it right!? I mean you and me...". Aira said noticeably nervous as she tapped her index fingers together.
"No...Miss Shiratori...Let's just go to sleep". Okarun sighed obviously depressed.
"I didn't mean to bring it up...! I'm sorry". Aira sighed.
"It's alright really lets just get ready for bed". Okarun replied.
"No it's not! You're all wierd now! It's Momo's fault!". Aira complained.
"Huh!? What's my fault!?". Momo shouted as she came downstairs with sleeping bags for the two.
"Nothing!". Aira said.
"Don't believe ya". Momo said before turning to Okarun.
"Okarun!".
"Huh!?".
"What were ya talking about?". She asked.
"N-Nothing". Okarun said.
"Now you're lying too huh!?". Momo said as she quickly went over to him pushing her finger in his face. "C'mon spill!".
"I already told you it was nothing!". He shouted.
"Hey stop poking Takakura like that!". Aira shouted as went over and pushed Momo away.
"I can touch him however I want right Okarun!?". She asked.
"Hmm,,...Sure...". Okarun squealed.
"Huh! Wait Takakura what do you mean!?". Aira shouted.
"Get lost skank hehe me and Okarun are best buds you know". Momo joked as she slung an arm around Okarun.
"What! Get your grubby mitts off him!". She retaliated as the two began tussling.
"Stop it both of you!". Okarun sighed trying to break up the fight.
"HEY GET TO SLEEP DOWN THERE OR I'LL COME DOWN THERE AND KNOCK YA LIGHTS OUT!". Seiko shouted from upstairs.
That was enough for the two to stop fighting as they stared daggers at each other.
"You heard her!". Aira said as she grabbed her sleeping bag and handed one to Okarun. "Get lost! Go upstairs and sleep".
"No way I'm leaving you two all alone down here to get down and dirty in my house! I'm sleeping here tonight!". Momo declared.
"What!". Aira and Okarun shouted.
"Miss Ayase we won't do that!". Okarun replied flustered.
"What do you mean we won't!". Aira sighed.
"I know Okarun I trust ya, it's the skank I don't even have a shred of faith in, so I'll just supervise you for tonight". Momo said before staring.
"Is that so? Welp then I'm taking your room tonight". Turbo Granny said before strutting upstairs.
"No way! Go to your room Momo!". Aira ordered.
"It's my house and I'll sleep wherever I feel like got it!?". Momo replied before running upstairs and returning with a sleeping bag of her own.
The three planted their sleeping bags in a line, Okarun smack in the middle as they all stared up at the ceiling in silence.
"Well...Uhh, goodnight Miss Shiratori, goodnight Miss Ayase". Okarun sighed before tucking himself in.
"Goodnight Okarun". Momo replied.
"Goodnight Takakura". Aira replied.
"Goodnight". Okarun said.
"Goodnight Okarun!". Momo said again as she shifted closer to Okarun.
"Goodnight Takakura!". Aira added doing the same.
"G..Goodnight..". Okarun sighed.
"Goodnight Okarun!". Momo said even louder and getting closer.
"Goodnight Takakura!". Aira said louder doing the same.
"Goodnight both of you okay!". Okarun shouted as he got up and took his sleeping bag to the other side of the room.
"Takakura! Where are you going!?". Aira asked.
"C'mon Okarun I know Aira's annoying but you don't have to switch spots cause of her!". Momo said.
"Hey shut it bitch!". Aira shouted.
"Would say the same to you!". Momo replied.
"I'm not comfortable sleeping in between both of you like this so I'm moving! You two stay put!". Okarun said cutting up the argument, he slammed his sleeping bag on the ground and jumped in. "Goodnight!".
Finally with that everything went quiet in the Ayase household.
Outside Togata, Tick and Vamola walked under the star filled night sky as the gentle breeze blew through.
"Now where would fellows like ourselves be going?". Vamola asked as she walked backwards just ahead of Togata with a puzzled look on her face.
"I was going to ask the same thing young master". Tick added.
"Well since we have a night all to ourselves I was thinking we could watch a movie, but then I remembered we didn't have a house". Togata said.
"Indubitably". Tick sighed.
"So I thought since our friends are making progress we should too". Togata added.
"In what way young master?". Tick asked.
"I thought we should pay a visit to our local vampire expert and do some research, what do you say?". Togata asked.
"Yes!". Vamola said lifting her arms in agreement.
"Well that should be a good use of our time". Tick said. "After all it waits for no one, Tick, Tick, Tick". He added.
"Tick? Is that a pun?". Togata asked with a smile.
"Perhaps". Tick giggled floating beside.
"Cringe!". Vamola said.
"Huh?". Togata and Tick asked.
"Well look at you". Togata said with a smile. "You're almost speaking like a regular teenager, where'd you learn that from?".
"Turbo Granny". Vamola said with a proud smile.
"Uhh huh...". Togata and Tick sighed.
"I'm not sure she should be learning that foul mouthed cat's vocabulary". Tick said.
"Agreed". Togata added.
"Vamola dear!". Tick said as he flew ahead to catch up with her. "What about I teach you good and proper English so that you can speak like the distinguished lady you are, I mean look at the young master! Such a rich and respectful vocabulary he has. He leant everything he knows from me". Tick gloats.
"I'm flattered". Togata said.
Vamola nodded yes quite excitedly as she agreed.
"Wonderful! Oh you will not be disappointed I assure you!". Tick said excitedly.
"Seems like he's missing the days when he used to tutor me". Togata said to himself as he watched the two. "At least he's enjoying himself".
Elsewhere in an unknown household A familiar girl with glasses cleaned up her house diligently, with a book in hand as she tended to the dishes, cleaned a spill and cooked a dish on the stove simultaneously.
She finished as she brought the food to her mother who had already passed out on the couch from exhaustion.
"Mom...Mom, dinner's ready". Rin said as she attempted to wake up her sleeping mother.
"Hmm...I'll eat later honey, I still have work to do". Her mother replied halfway awake and halfway sleeping.
"What work...Mom? You're home now". Rin replied sighing. "I can't tell whether she's actually awake or sleeping". She sighed to herself.
She placed the food in the fridge before sitting down with her book as she began to eat her own food. She gasped as she reached a cliffhanger.
"Edward no! You love each other, you can't leave!". She said out loud although too quiet for anyone to hear.
Immediately there was a knock at the door.
"What...Who could that be at this time?". She asked herself.
She put the book down and went to answer the door, only to find Tick, Togata and Vamola standing there.
"Greetings fellow human". Vamola said as she bowed.
"Perfect! Except the fellow human part, do drop that next time my dear". Tick said.
"What?...Togata...And Vamola?". Rin asked.
"Hey Rin, sorry for the surprise visit, we were thinking of heading over to the library and reading up on...You know what. And just thought having an expert would speed things up. Would you mind joining us?". Togata asked.
"Uh...". Rin stuttered still surprised as she looked down at herself to make sure she was presentable.
She was dressed in her house clothes, a short skirt which was unsightly considering her reputation and a tomato paste stained shirt and socks, obviously the type of clothes you wear when you aren't expecting visitors. After noticing her appearance she only became more flustered. She attempted to cover her body with the book
"Huh! Wait! How did you find my house!?". She shouted trying to hide her body as she looked down unable to look them in the face.
"Tick followed you once and found where it was". Vamola said with a smile with almost no shame.
"Your ghost was stalking me!". Rin shouted as she stared at them still embarrassed but now slightly angry.
"I'm sorry, I told him not to, but...We're here...". Togata said attempting a sorry excuse for an apology.
Togata and Rin's eye's met as she noticed Togata unconsciously scan her body. Upon closer inspection the clothes weren't only slightly dirty, they were much too small for her, probably aged clothes she hadn't bothered throwing out. And due to their small size it caused her body to be...Quite shaped. The tight clothes revealed her unexpectedly voluptuous body which she usually kept covered as a class representative.
The four stood there in silence for a bit as Tick seemed to get an ear of Togata's thoughts.
"HUH!!!!!!". He gasped loudly. "YOUNG MASTER! How inappropriate! What are you thinking!?". Tick shouted.
"AHHHHHHH!". Rin shouted in total embarrassment before trying to cover herself once more and trying to shut the door on the group.
"Tick!". Togata shouted back slightly embarrassed himself as he tried to stop Rin from closing the door.
"Rin wait I'm sorry it's not what you think!". Togata said attempting to stop the closing door.
Still screaming Rin slammed the door on his fingers.
"URHG! Ouch!". Togata winced as he pulled his fingers away.
"Huh!". Vamola and Tick gasped.
"Togata hurt!". Vamola shouted.
"Young master!". Tick shouted.
Noticing what she did Rin quickly opened the door and hurried outside as she attempted to help him. She held his finger with hers and tried using a napkin to clean the blood.
"I'm alright". Togata said. "Just a flesh wound, it didn't take my finger off or anything".
"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to!". Rin pleaded.
"It's alright I said I'm fine already". Togata said trying to play off the situation. "Sorry about bothering you we'll go".
The three turned around and began walking away avoiding the already awkward situation.
"No wait...I'll go with! You guys just wait out here I'll get changed". Rin shouted from her doorway.
"Oh...Ok!". Vamola said with a smile and a wave.
Rin rushed inside before changing into her usual style of clothes, she took a blanket and covered her mother who was still sleeping soundly on the couch even with all the commotion.
"Ok I'm ready now let's go". Rin said as she stepped out and joined the group.
"Great lets go". Togata said.
"So where are we going". Tick asked.
"You said you wanted to do some research right? Well there's this library not too far from here and they have an incredible collection of vampire related fiction so I was thinking we'd head there". Rin replied.
"Seems like a plan". Togata replied.
