An Aberration, a spinning helix of teeth and grey matter, targeted Alvian. It bypassed the front line, phasing through the rubble, and launched itself at his head.
Alvian didn't move. Before he could raise his lance, a wall of dark gold slammed down in front of him.
"CLANG!"
Valeria had vaulted over a ruined car, slamming her new [Aegis of Terra] into the ground between Alvian and the monster. The Aberration tried to phase through the shield, but the depleted uranium and the [Planetary Anchor] enchantment rejected the spatial distortion. The creature slammed into the solid metal, letting out a screech of static as it was forcibly rebounded into physical space.
Alvian didn't miss a beat. He stepped around Valeria, his hand resting on the small of her back for a fleeting second to brace her, a perfectly synchronized dance of violence.
"I told you," Alvian whispered near her ear, the warmth of his breath contrasting with the cold chaos of the battlefield. "I'm the one who erases."
