The Evil Fiend cackled triumphantly, having felt his fist connect with its target. He was about to declare his victory when his expression froze. He hadn't won—or rather, victory remained a distant, unattainable prospect.
The Dawn Knight had simply raised his arm, blocking what the Evil Fiend believed to be a fatal blow. His fist had only made the Dawn Knight's cloak flutter violently; it hadn't even budged him an inch.
The Evil Fiend stared in disbelief, questioning whether his eyes were deceiving him. What happened next nearly made his eyeballs pop out of their sockets.
The moment Zhou Yi blocked the Evil Fiend's punch, he violently thrust the man's thick arm upward, creating a gaping opening in his chest. Seizing the opportunity, Zhou Yi surged forward, twisted his body, and delivered a devastating knee strike. The impact between his hardened knee and the Evil Fiend's chest triggered a massive chemical reaction. The fiend's massive body was instantly sent soaring upward, the shockwave of air sending debris flying in all directions.
As the Evil Fiend flew into the air, the Dawn Knight vanished almost instantly. The next moment, he reappeared above the fiend. With another heavy, axe-like downward kick, the Evil Fiend's ascending body folded at an absurd angle, plummeting back to earth like a meteor.
Dust billowed as the Evil Fiend's body was nearly buried in thick mud. Watching the twitching form, Zhou Yi saw no sign of resistance. His gaze then shifted to the Hulk.
"Mr. Banner, it's time to bring you back to your senses."
"Wait, you can't do that! You'll hurt Bruce!" Jennifer quickly stepped between Zhou Yi and the Hulk, shouting. "Have you forgotten what you said? Or are you going back on your word?"
"Miss Jennifer, if you can calm him down, I won't resort to any drastic measures. If you can't, I'm afraid I'll have to knock him out. I'm sure he won't stay in this state once he's unconscious!"
Zhou Yi explained, hoping Jennifer would understand his reasoning. He saw no other way to calm the Hulk down than through force.
But Jennifer refused to accept his logic.
"Don't do this, listen to me. Just give me some time. I'll find a way to make Bruce change back. Just a little while."
Seeing Jennifer's determination, Zhou Yi paused, then nodded.
"I'll give you some time, but understand, it won't be long!"
"I understand!" Jennifer quickly turned her head to face Hulk. "Bruce, listen to me. You need to calm down. There are no enemies left here. If you don't calm down, it will be too late for everything. Do you understand?"
From the beginning, Jennifer had been desperately trying to restrain Hulk. This included when Zhou Yi was fighting the Evil Fiend; she had stopped Hulk from rushing in. Because she had been holding him back, she had come to understand just how furious Hulk truly was.
This rage was almost impossible to contain, or rather, she was completely incapable of suppressing it on her own. Although she was still trying her best, it was actually having no effect on reality.
Hulk impatiently shoved her aside and faced Zhou Yi, letting out a deep, thunderous roar. He pounded his chest, his teeth grinding together, clearly showing a deep-seated hatred for Zhou Yi. The mere sight of him made the rage completely uncontrollable.
"I don't know why you're so angry with me, but I'm truly looking out for your best interests. Mr. Banner, you should be grateful to have someone like me babysitting you."
Hulk completely ignored his taunts, let out a roar, and charged forward. His massive arm swung like an ancient battering ram, smashing down on Zhou Yi.
Zhou Yi raised his arms to block, but this time he felt the immense force of the blow. Hulk's strength had increased—a startling discovery. It seemed he hadn't just grown larger; his power had grown too.
Unfortunately for Hulk, it wasn't enough to turn the tide. Zhou Yi grabbed the Hulk's massive hand, twisted his arm with all his might, and slammed him to the ground. While Hulk was down, Zhou Yi immediately leaped onto him, pinning his shoulder with his foot. "Sorry, Mr. Banner. I have to do this!" he said, then drove a powerful punch into the back of Hulk's skull. This blow was far more devastating than Spider-Man's earlier flying kick. Hulk roared in pain and whipped his head around, glaring ferociously at Zhou Yi.
"Please, don't look at me like that. I'm really doing this for your own good. Just pass out already," Zhou Yi grumbled, completely ignoring the venom in the Hulk's eyes. He immediately followed up with another punch.
Punch after punch, one following the next. Though his punches weren't particularly fast, to an outsider they appeared as relentless and ferocious as a machine gun. Even the iron-willed Hulk, forged from steel and iron, struggled to withstand the onslaught. Soon, dizziness began to overwhelm him. His eyes remained fierce, but their focus started to waver.
"Please, just pass out already! Just pass out!" Zhou Yi muttered, continuing his work as he watched the Hulk stubbornly endure. At that moment, someone charged straight at him.
The attacker's strength was immense. Caught off guard, Zhou Yi was instantly scooped up at the waist and sent crashing into a nearby skyscraper. The building's structure couldn't withstand the impact. In an instant, they were buried under layers of rubble.
"Damn it! What the hell are you doing?!" Zhou Yi clawed his way out of the debris and roared at Jennifer, who was still holding him. Her stubborn voice answered, "I have to protect my family."
"I'm doing this for his own good!"
"But you're hurting him!" Through this exchange, Zhou Yi realized Jennifer simply couldn't understand him. He was attacking the Hulk, yes, but without calming him down now, nothing would progress. Yet his methods seemed to meet with Jennifer's complete disapproval.
He had already given up on trying to win her over. Things had to proceed according to his plan. Letting these people get involved in the first place was a mistake, especially letting a woman who couldn't grasp the core of the problem meddle. "Let go of me!" Zhou Yi ordered, but Jennifer's response was firm. "Not a chance!"
This defiance and lack of cooperation left Zhou Yi no choice but to forcibly pry her hands open. Though she continued to struggle fiercely against him, the vast difference in their strength rendered her resistance utterly futile.
Soon, Zhou Yi broke free of her grip and extricated himself from her entanglement. Just as he was about to fly out of the ruins, a massive figure suddenly erupted from a cloud of dust and debris.
Hulk suddenly lunged for Zhou Yi. Though Zhou Yi swiftly dodged the massive hand, the Hulk's fingers still clamped onto his cloak.
*This is bad!* A sudden premonition flashed through Zhou Yi's mind, and it immediately came true. With a target in his grip, Hulk unleashed his brute strength.
Gripping the cloak with both hands, he began to spin wildly through the ruins.
His immense power, combined with the centrifugal force, proved overwhelming, especially in the absence of any leverage. Zhou Yi was utterly at his mercy.
At that moment, he had no control over his own body. In Hulk's hands, he became the perfect destructive tool, smashing through everything around him. Walls and debris alike faced certain annihilation as they were swept aside.
From a distance, onlookers could only see a green axis with black fringes—a colossal spinning top, unleashing its destructive power.
After spinning for countless circles, Hulk finally began to lose momentum. He gathered all his strength and hurled the object in his hand in one direction. Amplified by centrifugal force, the kinetic energy generated was almost immeasurable.
The air exploded violently, and a milky-white mass of gas burst apart like a popped balloon. A black streak of light then shot out, tearing through the sound barrier as it raced forward, triggering countless sonic booms along its path.
The supersonic flight Zhou Yi often experienced now manifested passively. His body bounced across the ground like a stone skipping across water, each impact gouging the earth and sending up showers of debris and soil.
After more than a dozen such leaps, the momentum gradually began to wane. Looking back at his path, one would see that he had already caused immense destruction. Nearly an entire street had been reduced to rubble by this skipping motion.
Zhou Yi was both furious and embarrassed. He struggled to regain control of his body, trying to stop this involuntary flight. Just then, a massive green figure appeared behind him.
The figure was not the Hulk, but the Evil Fiend, who had just recovered from Zhou Yi's attack. Seizing the critical moment, he launched a fatal ambush.
He leaped up, slamming his clasped hands into Zhou Yi's body with a sound like the detonation of a massive bomb. The impact sent Zhou Yi plummeting toward the earth.
Just as he had done to the Evil Fiend earlier, he now experienced the sensation of embracing the earth.
His body pierced through the surface, and he was nearly buried by the debris and soil. He could feel the earth beneath him groaning under the strain, trembling as if unable to withstand such a brutal impact.
*Everyone's my enemy... What wonderful news.* Finally regaining control of his body, Zhou Yi laughed and shot out of the earth like a black light, soaring into the air. He glanced down at the two giants on the ground, a cold smile curling at his lips.
Now it was time to begin the second round.
