Chapter 245 - Thunderous Means, Suppressing the Entire Field

The bullet hung suspended in mid-air right before Selina's forehead, as if blocked by an invisible, thick wall. The bullet's tip had been completely flattened.

An ordinary person would have been shocked to see this. But vampires were no ordinary people. They had been exposed to the hidden side of the world for far longer than humans, so the moment this happened, the vampire leader roared out.

"Who is attacking from the shadows? A mutant or an Inhuman? The Dark Council is carrying out an order here. If you are an unrelated party, please leave immediately. We will consider you never existed."

Hearing this, Zhou Yi felt his horizons expand. So there was such a thing as the Dark Council? Hadn't it been agreed that there were only the Magic Party and the Secret Party? Recalling the introduction Miss Nisha had once given him, Zhou Yi shook his head. The vampires in the Americas had been out of contact with those in Europe for so long that they hadn't even known their basic systems had changed.

But that had nothing to do with what he was doing now. A mere organization couldn't intimidate him. With his status, there was no way he would quietly retreat just because he'd heard of some Dark Council he'd never even heard of before.

Stepping out from the shadows where no one had noticed him, Zhou Yi wore a gentle smile, greeting the vampires and werewolves as if he were seeing old friends.

"Apologies, I'm a foreigner. I happened to overhear what you were saying, and frankly, I'm a bit interested. I wonder if I could join in?"

The moment Zhou Yi appeared, he immediately drew everyone's attention. Both vampires and werewolves aimed their weapons at him. They showed no negligence just because Zhou Yi was alone; instead, their expressions were vigilant, as if they were facing a formidable enemy.

From their reactions alone, Zhou Yi could be certain that this group of vampires and werewolves had dealt with troublesome characters like mutants quite often. Their earlier questioning had already provided some evidence of this. As for the Inhumans, although Zhou Yi hadn't heard much about them, he assumed they were a race with some kind of supernatural abilities.

"Friend, this is a private matter of our Dark Council. We do not welcome the interference of any outsiders, whether you are a foreigner or a local!"

Though the Vampire Leader's expression was grim, he kept his temper in check and refrained from taking any action. He didn't want to cause too much trouble over this. The humans might not be a problem, but if mutants got involved, it would be a major issue for their clan.

Therefore, he still hoped to settle things quietly. The best solution was to resolve all problems without resorting to violence.

However, even though the Vampire Leader wanted to settle things peacefully, how could Zhou Yi, who had already heard something that piqued his interest, be so easily scared off?

He smiled and took a few more steps forward, addressing the vampires and werewolves.

"My apologies, but I'm simply too interested in what you've mentioned. Although I'd really like to leave, you see, my feet seem to have a mind of their own—they refuse to obey me. So, it looks like it's best if I stick with you for a while."

Hearing this, the Vampire Leader knew that a peaceful resolution was no longer possible. He shot a subtle glance at Lucien, who nodded in response. With a discreet wave of his hand, Lucien signaled a dozen or so werewolves to follow him, flanking Zhou Yi from the side.

Meanwhile, the vampires moved in from the front, blocking his path. Zhou Yi was now completely surrounded, trapped in their crosshairs.

"Last chance," the Vampire Leader issued his final ultimatum. "Do you want to leave, or do you want to stay here forever?" To them, the task at hand was far more important than the risk of offending a mutant.

"I want to leave," Zhou Yi said, a smile spreading across the Vampire Leader's face. But it vanished instantly as Zhou Yi added, "But I'd rather stay."

"Fire! Fire! Kill him! Kill him!" After being toyed with time and again, the Vampire Leader finally realized Zhou Yi was mocking him. He screamed the order and was the first to raise his gun and open fire.

Zhou Yi was all too familiar with hailstorms of bullets.

Facing the barrage from all directions, he spread his arms wide in what looked like an embrace. Then, countless bullets silently froze in mid-air before him, unable to advance a single inch or budge the slightest bit. Soon, a dense swarm of bullets filled every inch of space around him, a sight that would trigger an immediate attack of trypophobia in anyone who saw it.

Seeing that their firearms were useless, the Vampire Leader immediately waved his hand. Behind him, several vampires shot out, scuttling up the walls like geckos before sprinting across the ceiling toward Zhou Yi.

The werewolves also sent a few of their own. The moment they broke from the main group, they tore their clothes off, their bodies erupting in coarse black fur as their faces twisted into ferocious lupine muzzles. Within a few strides, they had transformed into wolf-like monstrosities over two meters tall, charging headlong at Zhou Yi.

*If guns don't work, we'll fight hand-to-hand.*

The Dark Council's goons had figured it out. But to Zhou Yi, their plan was a deathly foolish mistake.

He casually scooped up a handful of bullets from the ground before him, as if grabbing peanuts. Then, he flung them at the vampires clinging to the ceiling.

He had never practiced with throwing weapons, but for targets this small, he didn't think he needed any fancy techniques. *With a scatter like this,* he reasoned, *surely I can hit at least one.* And if he hit just one, well, with their frail bodies, those vampires wouldn't stand a chance.

Just as Zhou Yi had predicted, the moment he threw the handful, the vampires on the ceiling burst into bright flames, one after another. Great clouds of ash drifted away in the wind, causing the vampires behind them to halt in their tracks.

Meanwhile, the Ronin had already reached Zhou Yi. With ferocious roars, they lunged at him like true beasts, bringing a gust of foul, bloody wind.

Facing the werewolves who lunged at him like rabid dogs, drool spraying from their maws, Zhou Yi didn't even consider touching them.

He merely raised an eyebrow.

Under his will, invisible psychokinetic force lashed out like a whip, striking the werewolves.

To these creatures, an ordinary whip might have been less effective than a loop of yarn. But a psychokinetic whip—especially Zhou Yi's—was different. When swung, it could shatter steel, let alone a few mere werewolves.

The moment it connected, he taught these little mutts the true meaning of agony. The psychokinetic long whip struck them in an instant. With a single lash, everything—from their outer fur and skin to their muscles and nerves, and even the bones and organs deeper within—was utterly pulverized.

This was nothing short of ultimate torture. No werewolf could endure such pain. Though their bodies were still airborne, their fierce roars had already turned into the agonized howls unique to canines. Two werewolves with exceptionally strong vitality managed to survive the first strike. The rest were not so lucky.

Their spines shattered and internal organs crushed, they slowly became breathless corpses, their weak moans fading into silence.

Such brutal methods immediately terrified everyone present. Both the Vampire Leader and Lucien raised their hands in a measured gesture, signaling their subordinates to cease their attack.

Unlike their emotionally charged underlings, these leaders, with their broader perspectives, fully understood the true nature of the power displayed before them. To put it bluntly, the man's recent feat had proven he could easily slaughter everyone in the room.

Vampires were not as physically resilient as werewolves. Even Lucien, one of the strongest among his kind, did not believe he could withstand the force of that invisible attack. To kill an elite werewolf warrior in a single strike... such power was something he had only seen wielded by the Elders of the Council, those masters of the arcane.

At this thought, Lucien exchanged a glance with the Vampire Leader. In each other's eyes, they saw only resignation and bitterness.

"Who exactly are you, sir? Why do you insist on interfering in the internal affairs of our Dark Council? If you are willing to leave now, we are prepared to offer a generous sum to compensate you for your losses. Five million pounds, transferred immediately to your account."

Hearing this, Zhou Yi finally grasped the vast difference between American and European vampires. This ability to bend and yield was something their American counterparts could learn from for a century or more. If this were anyone else, they might have actually agreed to shake hands and call it a day.

Unfortunately, the one standing here was Zhou Yi. As one of the wealthiest men in the world, how could he possibly abandon his plans over a little money? Besides, what did money matter compared to the Holy Blood they had mentioned?

With a slight twitch of his brow, the bullets clattered to the floor. Zhou Yi strolled forward, speaking to the vampires with a pleasant smile.

"Your attitude is commendable, but I'm afraid I must decline. I really don't lack for money. And compared to money, I'm much more interested in having you answer a few questions."

The moment Zhou Yi finished speaking, the Vampire Leader was lifted off the ground. An invisible, immense force had seized him. Almost instantly, his bones began to crack and shatter under the unbearable pressure. He knew without a doubt that if this force increased even slightly, he would be crushed into a shapeless mass of flesh and bone.

He gazed at Zhou Yi with a mixture of terror and desperation, his eyes pleading for a chance to live.

Seeing that look, Zhou Yi felt a twinge of guilt. He cleared his throat softly and reassured the vampire.

"Don't look at me like that, sir. I only have a few questions. If you answer them truthfully, I promise you'll walk away from this safely. Do you understand?"

"I understand, I understand! Please, ask away. I will answer anything I know, I swear." The Vampire Leader looked like a man whose entire world had just collapsed. If Zhou Yi could have read his mind, he would have seen a soul utterly broken.

Vampires were living beings, after all, and they didn't want to encounter monsters like this any more than anyone else.
