"Did the system have anything to say," he said.

"It made a sound," she said. "Which it does when it's not saying anything."
"And does the sound mean something specific," he said.
"It means it contains multitudes," she said.
The corner of his mouth moved further.
She looked at him.
He looked at her.
"Eleven months of relay reports," she said.
"Every one," he said.
"You didn't send a personal relay," she said.
