Chapter 726 - A Walk Through the Veyris Empire

The Veyris Empire had seen gods arrive, challengers collapse, and entire cosmologies quietly disappear without drama.

But today

it hosted something rarer.

A guest who wasn't here to bow, fight, or perish.Sun Wukong landed lightly beside Kael Veyris.

No portal. No ceremony.

Just a step forward into a place where reality behaved like it had manners.

He stretched his arms.

Alright. Show me around.

Kael looked at him.

You intend to stay?

Wukong grinned.

For a bit.

Your place is too interesting to leave immediately. And so they walked.

Side by side.

The empire reacted but quietly.

Not alarms.

Not defenses.

Just awareness.

Seraphina watched from a distance.

Ignisia leaned against a pillar, smiling faintly.

Umbryssia observed without speaking.

Kael and Wukong moved through the vast imperial grounds.Wukong looked around, whistling.

This place is huge.

But it doesn't feel heavy.

Kael answered calmly:

It is stabilized.

Wukong tilted his head.

"…That means you control everything?"

Kael shook his head slightly.

No.

Everything aligns itself.

Wukong laughed softly.

That's even worse.

Kael glanced at him.

"…Why?"

Because it means nothing here gets to surprise you.

Kael paused briefly.

That is partially incorrect.

Wukong smirked.

Oh?

Kael added:

You surprised me.

Wukong burst out laughing.

I'll take that as a win. They passed through the central courtyard where Lyra was playing.

She looked up.

Uncle Monkey!

Wukong waved dramatically.

Hey kid!

Lyra giggled and went back to playing.

Wukong nodded approvingly.

"…Good energy."

Kael observed quietly.

"…She likes you."

Wukong shrugged.

"…Kids usually do."

"…I'm fun."They continued walking along a long marble path that stretched into light itself.

Wukong swung his staff casually over his shoulder.

"…So what do you actually do all day?"

Kael answered:

"…Maintain stability."

Wukong tilted his head.

"…That sounds boring."

Kael replied calmly:

"…It is not."

Wukong smiled.

"…Good answer."After a while, Wukong spoke again.

"…You know what I like about you?"

Kael glanced at him.

"…What."

"…You don't pretend."

Kael didn't respond immediately.

Then:

"…There is no need."

Wukong nodded.

"…Exactly."Ignisia suddenly appeared beside them.

"…Are you two just walking forever or what?"

Wukong grinned.

"…Maybe."

Ignisia crossed her arms.

"…I want a rematch later."

Wukong pointed at her.

"…Anytime."

Kael interrupted calmly:

"…No destruction of imperial structures."

Both of them paused.

Then simultaneously:

"…Fine."They continued walking again.

Not as ruler and guest.

Not as god and warrior.

Just two beings existing side by side in a place that needed nothing from them.

Wukong looked ahead.

"…This is weird."

Kael replied:

"…Explain."

"…I've fought beings who destroyed universes for fun."

"…But walking with you feels more intense than that."

Kael thought briefly.

"…Because nothing is being forced."

Wukong smiled.

"…Yeah."

"…That's it."The empire stretched endlessly around them.

Solusores pulsed like distant stars.

Reality remained perfectly balanced.

And Kael Veyris walked beside Sun Wukong

not as an opponent.

Not as a ruler.

But as someone, for once, simply sharing the same path.
