"Y-You saw your old world inside his mind?" Luan asked in confusion after Roxanna explained that the reason her connection with Aelin had suddenly been cut off was because she had entered a different dimension.
"Yes and… it's actually more complicated than you think," Roxanna said.
She then told them everything that had happened in her old house. She also explained that Calen was actually the reincarnation of her dog.
"He's really a dog?" Cyrus frowned. "For some reason, I'm not even surprised. He acts like a dog sometimes."
"Hey, what do you mean by that?" Calen protested, clearly offended. He hadn't expected Cyrus to insult him like that. "At least I've seen the real her!"
The moment Calen said those words, the atmosphere in the room changed. The others' expressions darkened. For a brief second, some of them even thought about locking Calen inside a small room and forcing him to tell them everything he knew about Roxanna's old world, including what her old face looked like.
