"You can go back and report to the Commander."
Marlow hesitated for a moment because Zeir had specifically asked him to check on Roxanna, but he couldn't possibly force the leader of the tribe to open the door if she didn't want to be disturbed.
"A-Alright then," Marlow finally said. "I'll let the Commander know that you're fine, but… Leader, are you really okay? You don't sound very well."
[Damn it! Why does he have to be so attentive like that?] Roxanna thought.
She was honestly glad that someone cared about her besides her husbands, but the timing couldn't have been worse.
Her legs trembled as Azul moved faster, forcing Roxanna to grip the door tightly while biting her lower lip to keep herself from making any sound.
"Like I said… I just slipped earlier," she replied, trying to steady her voice. "That's all."
